Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!-Chapter 83 -: 82 The Dean’s misery!
The dean finally reached the small gambling stall.
It was tiny because he had set it up with his last bit of savings.
But now that he had won so much money, his days of begging were finally over.
"Hahaha!" He laughed loudly as he imagined Professor Lucian begging him for money.
In his daydream, Lucian looked pitiful with torn and ripped clothes.
"Please, Dean! I won’t ever make fun of you again. Please give me some money!" Lucian begged with a sad face.
"Now that’s what we call fate changing in a moment! Hahaha!" the dean laughed happily as he stepped into the stall.
"Ring! Ring! Ring!"
He tapped the bell on the counter loudly.
"Hey, come out, you guys! Your owner is here!" he shouted like a street thug.
No one would believe this was the dean of the most prestigious academy in the three floating continents.
"Ring! Ring! Ring!"
He rang the bell again and tapped the desk impatiently. "Hey everyone, come out!"
But no one came.
"Hmm?" The dean frowned. "Hey! You guys!" he shouted louder. His heart started to feel heavy.
’Why aren’t they replying? Could it be that they ran away with all the money?’
His face turned serious as he shouted again, "If you don’t come out within the next 3 seconds, I’m going to beat the living crap out of you!"
He snarled like a angry loan shark coming to collect debts.
"Step... Step... Step..."
The moment the dean threatened them, two old men walked out with defeated expressions.
Their faces looked so sad, as if their mother had just taken away their favorite meal.
"You guys!" The dean’s eyes lit up with joy the moment he saw them.
These two were his longtime gambling partners.
They were an infamous bunch in the gambling world.
Every gambler in the neutral city of Agarta knew these three, and even many regular citizens recognized them.
People called them "the Naked Trio."
The three men came from good families, but their terrible gambling addiction always left them broke and naked by the end of the day.
They had lost even their last shred of dignity many times.
They were so shameless that they wouldn’t stop betting until they had nothing left, that’s why everyone called them the Naked Trio. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The dean walked over with open arms to hug them, but he noticed their gloomy faces.
"What happened, guys? Why are you so down?" he asked with a big, kind smile.
He proudly flexed his arms, making all his gold chains and rings shine brightly.
"Did you lose your bets? Don’t worry! See, I’m rich now. With the money I won from the election bets, I’ll give you both a nice chunk!"
The two old men gave weak, defeated chuckles as they looked at their friend.
"Y-you look good..." one of them said awkwardly.
"You think so?" the dean laughed loudly, clearly proud of his shiny gold chains and rings.
"Now tell me the results! How much did I win?"
He asked with an excited grin.
With this money plus what he already had, it would feel like a huge fortune.
He could gamble freely for the next two months without any worries.
The two old men exchanged nervous glances, urging each other to speak first.
But neither of them said a word.
The dean noticed their strange silence and clicked his tongue.
"Tsk, you guys are really petty. You must have bet on Zenifar, that’s why you lost. Always remember to gamble on the safest candidate, and when you do, bet big money!"
He waved his hand impatiently. "Now tell me the results already..."
The two old men hesitated for a moment.
They were also a little annoyed by the dean’s haughty, superior attitude since he arrived.
So they decided to just say it.
"Orin, don’t be shocked," one of the old men said with a serious face.
"Ohho? Did I win that much?"
The dean raised an eyebrow, looking impressed and even more excited.
The two old men exchanged one last glance, then closed their eyes tightly and spoke in unison:
"You lost!! The winner of the Student Council President election was Rosalina Valentina!!!"
"Eh?" The dean’s mouth fell open.
His excited smile froze on his face as the haughty expression quickly melted away.
"And not just you, we lost too!" one of the old men complained.
"We also placed our bets on Alia Ruth. You told us she was guaranteed to win! You said Rosalina Valentina had the lowest, almost impossible chance..."
They both looked at him like they had been wronged.
"You knew everything about the academy, so we trusted your information. You said only Zenifar Rose could compete against Alia."
"You never mentioned Rosalina at all! You called her arrogant and said no one would vote for her..."
The dean’s knees suddenly felt weak. He staggered a little.
’How could this be? How? How can Rosalina win?’
"She gave those speeches full of arrogance... so who would even vote for her?" he muttered in disbelief.
The two old men looked at him and smiled secretly inside.
’How does it feel, you greedy pig?’ they thought, clearly enjoying every second of the dean’s breakdown.
If only they hadn’t listened to him and had bet on Rosalina instead... they would have won 500 times their money.
Just like that lucky person who did.
The two old men knelt down so they could look the dean straight in the eyes.
The dean stood there in complete despair.
He had put all his money on Alia Ruth and now he had lost everything.
Not just him, everyone must have lost too.
"Wait..." He suddenly stopped. "If I lost, then everyone else must have lost as well."
"After all, no one had gambled on Rosalina... This is even better! We don’t need to pay out any rewards. We can keep all the money!"
His eyes instantly lit up with new hope as he looked at the two old men.
"Hey, what about all the money?" he asked, feeling excited again.
"Orin, don’t feel so brightened up," one of the old men said with a heavy sigh.
"What do you mean?" The dean frowned, confused.
One of the old men reached out and touched the large golden necklace around the dean’s neck.
"Nice necklace," he complimented.
"You think so?" The dean’s mouth curved into a proud smile. "I won it in the Hol—"
Before he could finish, the old man cut in with a regretful voice. "Be ready to sell everything!"
"W-what do you mean?" the dean stammered.
"He means someone placed a bet on Rosalina," the other old man explained.
"And it wasn’t a small bet. He put down 500 thousand gold coins on her. So now we owe him 250,000 gold coins."
"Including all the money we could gather, we only have 230,000," they said as tears rolled down their cheeks.
"I even had to sell my dog! Sniff..."
The dean stared at them dumbfounded. He didn’t know what was even happening right now.
"Is this some kind of joke?"
