Water Mage in the Flame Realm-Chapter 420 - 403: Bridge (Part 3)
In these final moments, Liang thought of Li’s voice that had awakened him before: "So what was that? An illusion? Probably. Or maybe it’s like a lantern passing before one’s eyes before death? After all, Li couldn’t still be alive. If she were, with her character, she would’ve scolded me fiercely, then beaten me half to death..."
What Liang didn’t know was that the figure of a goddess had quietly emerged from the Water God Mark on Andrew’s forehead and was silently standing not far away.
It was the remaining spirit of Li from the Water God Mark.
When she saw Liang’s figure fading quickly, Li’s lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she said nothing.
After all, Liang had caused her husband’s death, and she really couldn’t forgive him, couldn’t.
Still couldn’t forgive.
But no longer hated.
"Hmm?" Andrew’s expression changed suddenly, as if he heard a faint sigh, and simultaneously, the entire Water God Realm seemed to exude a slight sadness.
It was at this moment that Liang’s figure completely dissipated.
The Seven-Colored Rainbow Bridge in the sky solidified completely.
The bridge spanned the sky, emitting a dreamlike, yet vibrant light, giving an infinite sense of safety.
If, when Liang told Andrew everything that had happened in the small world within the Black Whale, he served as a bridge linking the past and the present.
Then at this moment, this bridge created from Liang himself connected foreign lands and the homeland, connecting the present and the future.
"Liang..." Andrew murmured the old man’s name again, "I will remember you, and I will let more people know about you!"
With his feet leaving the beach, Andrew, like Silver and the others before him, flew toward the bridge.
Undoubtedly, the other side of the bridge was certainly the Flame Realm.
Andrew hadn’t had the chance to look closely at where exactly on the Flame Realm the other side of the bridge led, but it certainly wasn’t the Scholar’s Fortress.
As he gradually approached, following the bridge’s call and suction, Andrew felt the increasingly intense atmosphere emanating from the bridge’s other side, shocking his heart: "This... Is it really—?!"
He saw a glimpse of a vast body of water on the other side of the bridge, with an ancient and serene blue temple at its center.
Tears still wet on his face, the sadness in his heart yet to subside.
Looking at the scene on the other side of the bridge, Andrew’s already unsettled heart felt a torrent of emotions:
After leaving the Wildfire Territory with Barbara, he went to the Warm Fire Commerce Association, then to Shield of Flowing Fire, participated in the Royal Court negotiations, and finally arrived at this Outer Battlefield.
After all the twists and turns, did he end up... returning to the very starting point?!
The bridge shook twice, as if urging, or as if the familiar scene on the other side was calling.
With a light point of his foot, a pair of winged Water-Traveling Boots silently appeared beneath Andrew’s feet, actively accelerating towards the bridge.
Before stepping onto the bridge, Andrew paused slightly, looked back deeply at the Water God Realm, and the massive Dragon Claw Mark on the beach.
"I will come back," Andrew thought to himself, "I can’t remove this mark right now, but soon, I will return to truly make this world the Water God created everyone’s home!"
With a silent vow in his heart, Andrew hesitated no longer, stepped onto the seven-colored surface of the bridge, and walked towards the opposite side.
With each step Andrew took, the part of the bridge he had walked would shrink.
When Andrew completely crossed the bridge, the bridge itself transformed into a streak of miniature light, flying into Andrew’s forehead.
Just as it was about to touch the Water God Mark on Andrew’s forehead, the now tiny bridge abruptly stopped, hesitating as if unsure if it would be accepted.
Until the Water God Mark emitted a gentle aura on its own. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
The remaining spirit of Water God Li had not revealed herself to bid farewell before Liang completely dissipated and departed.
This time, she did not reject the bridge Liang left behind.
The bridge rotated, leaped, and flew into Andrew’s forehead, merging into the Water God Mark, adding a layer of rainbow hues to the originally deep blue mark.
Andrew’s figure disappeared from the Water God Realm.
Liang, in turn, had truly and completely achieved his redemption.
He could once again fight side by side with Li.
