Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 370: I’ve Made My Decision—I’m Going!
He knew she hated being betrayed the most, hated the most offering a sincere heart and receiving pain in return.
Vincent Hawthorne had given her enough pain.
So she had zero tolerance for this kind of thing.
Declan Pierce was indeed right... but he made one mistake.
That was about himself.
Declan’s Adam’s apple moved slightly as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he helplessly tugged at his lips.
"Ms. Sinclair, you’re so smart, it makes things difficult for me..." His tone was relaxed, filled with indulgence.
Tanya couldn’t help but raise her hand and give him a punch.
"Are you bored or what? Playing these tricks! Didn’t I say I wish you a long life? Why... why can’t you just believe me? I can save you!"
By the end, Tanya’s eyes were red, her emotions getting the better of her.
Declan raised his hand to gently wipe away the hint of water at the corner of her eyes, pulling her into his embrace in the process.
His chin rested on the top of her head as he let out a light sigh.
In such cold weather, even sighs are white mist, quickly dissipated by the biting wind.
His voice was lighter than the fog.
"Tanya, I just want you to have a happy and fulfilling life."
And he wasn’t certain he had to be a part of it.
"You can’t abandon me now that I’ve fallen in love with you." Tanya raised her hand to tightly grasp the front of his shirt, and Declan felt as if his heart was being clutched painfully by her.
Her voice, hoarse and trembling, said, "Declan, I will save you. In this lifetime, I will save you!"
How foolish she was...
After being deceived and hurt completely by someone like Vincent Hawthorne, Tanya still effortlessly sought to love another person.
Declan gently stroked her soft long hair, snowflakes softly falling and instantly melting.
He responded tenderly, "Alright."
Tanya raised her head, staring at him seriously.
"No more tricks to deceive me in the future! Or I’ll really get angry!"
Declan lowered his head and kissed her forehead, "Alright."
Only then did Tanya smile, she held onto his hand, intertwining their fingers tightly.
"Come on, let’s explore the places we’ve never been before."
She had limited time, so she cherished each moment spent with Declan greatly.
The snow began to fall heavier, and Declan bought a transparent umbrella from a nearby shop, holding it up as Tanya walked arm in arm with him through the snow.
"Declan."
"Hmm?"
"There’s something I need to tell you."
Tanya recounted the Secretary-General Crawford’s request for her to appear and negotiate for a hostage exchange, but she told a small lie.
"Don’t worry, Felix Kendall has already sent someone to infiltrate the inside as an informant. As for me, Secretary-General Crawford has arranged the highest level of protection, so there won’t be any problems. Plus, I must make a trip to Gralen Island. I found the medicine that can cure you!"
Declan looked at her bright eyes, filled with hope, as if that medicine would definitely save his life.
She was a doctor, she knew better than anyone that no medicine could be guaranteed to work one hundred percent.
The snow began to fall heavier.
The whole world seemed to turn into a blurred white, leaving Tanya as the only remaining trace of color.
The only color in his world.
"I don’t trust the military and Felix Kendall." Declan said solemnly, "I want to go with you."
"No way!" Tanya rejected him without even thinking, "Your current condition doesn’t allow you to run around, just stay put in Phoenix Court and wait for me to come back."
She smiled cheerfully, her tranquil eyes gleaming with brilliance.
"I’ll be back before the New Year, Declan." She said, "I want to spend our first New Year together with you. And in the future, we have so many New Years to look forward to together."
Declan gazed at her intently for a long time, a faint smile appearing on his pale lips as he said, "Alright."
Tanya, for once, showed a bit of stubbornness, insistently asking him to repeat it, more formally.
Declan, helplessly indulging her, seriously said, "From now on, Declan Pierce and Tanya Sinclair, every New Year for the rest of our lives, we’ll spend together."
Only then Tanya felt satisfied, sealing the promise with a pinky swear.
Declan’s gaze lingered on her face, unwilling to move away for a long while.
The two of them wandered around the school for quite some time, until dusk, when they returned to Phoenix Court.
Declan cooked, making a simple two dishes and a soup.
After dinner, they snuggled up on the sofa and watched a movie, just like any other young couple, Tanya nestled in Declan’s arms, her chest filled with quiet happiness.
Once the movie ended, Tanya glanced up to find that Declan had fallen asleep at some point. She did not wake him, but carefully got up from his embrace and went to the balcony, dialing Secretary-General Crawford’s number.
"Secretary-General Crawford, I’ve made my decision. I’ll go, but I have one condition, I hope you can help me find something..."
