CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 187: Lock of Biomechanism
Crow slammed the large broad sword toward Benjamin.
Benjamin drained out a large amount of energy from the miniature sun and shot back a beam with equal size.
But Nether was a higher form of power. Two layers of Nether stacked upon each other made it even higher.
Crow crushed the flame beam and at the same time, engulfed Benjamin in the beam of the Nether Sword. The beam dug out one straight tunnel of holes into the maze.
Benjamin dropped his sword and looked down at his chest. A large gaping hole was there.
"I never have a chance, haven’t I? Just like old times."
Benjamin fell to the ground. Crow caught him just in time.
Crow let Benjamin lay in his arms in his dying breath.
"You did well, Bee." Crow whispered.
Benjamin coughed, "Don’t patronize me. You’re still so strong."
He raised his hands up and allowed Cage to grab it.
"The Von Schattenbergs... They aren’t who they said they are. That thing. They’re trying to create a super weapon. A powerful relic. They have many of those.
I can’t stop them. I was enslaved... But you can do it, Crow. You’re our only hope."
"Don’t worry. I will take care of it." Crow said.
"As reliable as always. Vic... Vic is still alive."
The colors in Benjamin’s eyes faded away. He died.
Crow let out a long breath. Something broken within him. The black cat was able to feel that.
’He has broken a lock within him. Crow can also become a rank-2 servant.’ Mater stroked his whiskers.
Crow smacked at Benjamin’s forehead and drew out his Chaos Singularity. Benjamin was once a Hazard Psychic. His Chaos Singularity was durable enough to be extracted.
Crow walked over to Mater and presented him with a black hole spinning constantly in his palm.
"His Chaos Singularity, Master."
The black cat pushed Crow’s hand back. "It is yours."
"Master?"
"You have absorbed many of Aaron Cage’s essence. You have inherited his destiny."
The black cat looked at the corpse on the ground. "Fate has led you here to him. I won’t be interfering with that. Consume it. Or let it go. It’s your choice."
Crow nodded. He looked at the Chaos Singularity for a few seconds before opening his mouth wide.
His face cracked open to reveal a wide white hole as his mouth.
"Crow has a mouth?!" Selina widened her eyes.
Crow swallowed the Chaos Singularity and consumed it. He needed two more to advance to rank-2.
"What do we do with him, Master?" Aurora pointed to Assassin.
Originally, Mater wanted to enslave the man. But the opportunity didn’t present itself. Keeping this man hostage would also be a hassle.
Mater jumped onto Bash’s back and drew the Chaos Singularity out of Assassin. Along with it, he also pulled in the rest of Assassin’s Chaos.
Assassin was a level 10 Psychic. He was true to his name, a Psychic with specialized assassination ability.
"Hmmm. 13 Chaos Spheres. And 3 Chaos Singularity. I have enough."
The black hovered to the air of the maze. The three Chaos Singularity hovered around him.
One was from Dr. Ziegler. One was from the white wraith in the Lambkins Mansion. One was from Assassin.
The three spheres rotated quickly around Mater. In front of him, a lock slowly took form.
It was a lock of flesh, fluid, and the light of the moon. It was the Bio-Lock. The Lock of Biomechanism.
At the same time, above Aeliz City, dark clouds filled the land. Chaos became more unstable than ever. Everyone could feel their Psycho Force reacting to an unknown source of threat.
It was something similar to them. Similar to Psychics. But it was more ancient. More hungry. And more primal.
At the same time, most of the Psychics under Hazard Level saw a pair of golden eyes looking at them. It was purely a split of a second. But they saw it.
However, they quickly forgot what they had seen. They only remembered that they witnessed something horrible.
Back in the maze, the lock was created completely. But Mater wasn’t finished.
Before the maze, Mater had 389 Chaos Spheres. In the maze, he killed 40-50 candle mannequins, acquiring 235 more Chaos Spheres. That gorilla gave 8 Chaos Spheres. The eagle gave another 8. And the anaconda gave 9.
Benjamin had 13 Spheres within him.
Assassin had another 13.
In total, Mater gained 286 Chaos Spheres, making his total to be 675 Chaos Spheres.
He used 200 of them to fill his new Chaos Well, which had expanded to 10,000 Chaos Points. A minimal amount compared to human 100,000 Chaos Well but Mater wasn’t complaining.
Chaos Points for a rank-2 being was different for a rank-1. Rank-2 Chaos was denser, more compact, and more powerful. It was basically twice the value of rank-1 Chaos Points.
"I was planning to keep these for the spells and artifacts. But since this maze has so much Chaos, it’s a shame to not use it right away."
Mater used another 200 to form his first key.
The black cat opened its mouth wide to spit out a cloud of 200 Chaos Spheres. These Chaos Spheres spun around the clock. Their energy leaked out to a center point and slowly formed a key made out of flesh.
The Key of Hunger.
The flesh key slotted itself into the Bio-Lock, changing Mater’s biomechanism forever. He no longer needed to eat to maintain himself.
The key turned over, locking in Mater’s state and adding an additional 10,000 Chaos Points to his Chaos Well, making it 20,000.
The Bio-Lock floated to Mater and entered his chest. It floated inside his Chaos Well.
The black cat landed back onto the ground.
Selina’s eyes were full of admiration as she clapped her hands like she was watching some kind of performance.
"You look damn cool, Mr. Mater!" She said.
Mater flicked his imaginary hair, "Of course I did."
The cat looked extremely arrogant.
After the process, Mater had 275 Chaos Spheres left.
"Should we deal with this now?" Selina turned to the miniature sun.
The black cat raised its paw and shook its head, "Nope. I still have work to do."
Reaching Rank-2 opened new spell slots in the Dark Grimoire for Mater. Making his first key opened even more..
Rank-2 counted each Key as a minor rank. When Mater collected all three keys, he would reach the max level of Rank-2. Each key was equivalent to 10 minor levels. So right now, Mater considered himself to be a Rank-2, level 20 Warlock.
When he created the lock, Mater unlocked an additional 1 Rank-2 Spell Slots, and 1 additional servant.
When he created the key of hunger, Mater unlocked an additional 4 Rank-2 Spell Slots, 3 additional servants, and 2 Demonic Items.
The Dark Grimoire flew out of Mater’s mouth. It had materialized an index page at the beginning of the book.
[Rank-1 Spells]: 13/13
[Rank-2 Spells]: 0/5
[Servants]: 5/9
[Demonic Items]: 2/5
[Imprisoned Beings]: 2
"It’s time to upgrade these Rank-1 Spells. I am aching for some destruction!" The black cat licked its mouth.
