CEO Ex-Husband, Don't Bother Me-Chapter 14: Out of Control
Lara Nash whined playfully,
"Naomi, you’re the best. Please, just help me out. You know my parents would break my legs if they found out I was living with a man. But if I tell them I’m living with you, they’ll definitely feel at ease!"
Naomi Shaw felt very conflicted.
"But that’s lying to your parents, isn’t it? I’m not doing it! You should just stay in the dorm. Besides, it’s not like you’re guaranteed to get married. For you to give yourself to him like this..."
Before Naomi Shaw could finish, Lara burst out laughing.
"Pfft... Naomi, it’s normal for a couple who’s passionately in love to have sex. What does that have to do with getting married?"
Naomi Shaw frowned. Although she and Lara were good friends, Naomi was conservative while Lara was liberal, so it was hard for them to reach a consensus on this matter. She strongly disapproved of Lara’s premarital behavior. Lara pleaded with her,
"Naomi, Naomi, I’m begging you! Please, just help me! Think about how great it would be for us to move out. We’d have our own little world! And don’t you love to cook? You could make delicious food every day!"
Naomi Shaw’s heart softened. Worn down by Lara’s constant pestering, she had no choice but to say,
"Sigh... I don’t know what to do with you!"
"Naomi, I love you so much!"
Lara squealed with delight.
"Then it’s settled! You don’t have to worry about a thing. Finding a place, moving... just leave all of it to me and Ronan. All you have to do is wait to move right in!"
"Alright, alright, now go find your Ronan!"
Naomi Shaw was completely helpless against her. Giggling, Lara ran off cheerfully.
Naomi Shaw let out a soft sigh and started walking toward her dorm. She lived there during the week and only went home on weekends. She decided that from now on, she would retreat to the simplest of roles in her interactions with him. But little did she know, some things were completely beyond her control.
When Naomi Shaw arrived home on Saturday morning, she had just stepped out of her car at the gate when she saw Ian Shaw’s car pull up as well. Ian Shaw, Tyson, and Julian Donovan all got out. Naomi’s eyes immediately fell on Julian Donovan, whose white shirt was stained with blood. Shocked, she rushed over.
"Julian, are you hurt?"
Ian Shaw, standing nearby, cleared his throat pointedly.
"Naomi, Tyson is the one who’s hurt. Julian just got blood all over himself while bandaging Tyson’s wound."
Naomi Shaw froze, then quickly turned to look at Tyson. One of his arms was bandaged, and blood was faintly seeping through. She asked with concern,
"Tyson, are you okay?"
With a dark expression, Tyson shook her hand away and strode off. Naomi watched his angry retreat, frozen in place, biting her lip with remorse. ’I know my reaction just now hurt Tyson, but I couldn’t help it. It’s not that I don’t care if he’s safe... I’m just so in love with that man, he’s the only one I can see.’
Ian Shaw watched this all unfold with a helpless sigh. ’I understand what Tyson is feeling, and I understand my own daughter’s heart, too. But it’s not my place to interfere in matters of the heart. I can’t demand that Julian Donovan love Naomi, and I certainly can’t force Naomi to love Tyson. All I can say is that it must be fate.’
