Dimensional Streamer: Infinite Views in Another World-Chapter 35: Sharing
[New Quest Available]
The notification blinked into existence, and Noa tried to keep his expression neutral.
’Bingo!’
[Learn more about Clara Carter]
Seeing this, Noa’s lips parted slightly. ’This is easier than I thought.’
He knew the system would issue a mission sooner rather than later. That’s why he wanted to meet the woman in the first place.
And even though he had come to like her company, Noa wasn’t about to let it distract him from what really mattered. With that in mind, he coughed, ready to restart the conversation.
But Clara beat him to it. "What’s wrong?" she asked, noticing the shift in his eyes.
"I was about to ask," he said after clearing his throat. "Can you tell me more about yourself?"
The woman eyed him for a moment.
Obviously, she was surprised by Noa’s sudden question. The boy didn’t strike her as someone who would ask something like that, let alone with the sincerity he was showing.
Still, she was happy to answer. "What do you want to know about? My job? My family? Or perhaps... my wealth?"
Noa snorted upon hearing this.
He shook his head and let his voice grow deeper. "That’s too boring. I want to see you. Not the stupid shit humans are obsessed over," he said, smiling. "How about we start with your hobbies?"
Clara blinked.
Noa kept surprising her.
Not only did he not seem to care about her background, but he also actually wanted to connect with her. Yes, they had been joking and somewhat flirting, but it still exceeded her expectations.
Was it just a facade? His way of putting her guard down?
Honestly, Clara couldn’t tell.
She had met all sorts of people before.
Somehow, Noa seemed different, leaving an impression of someone she could trust.
"I like trying new cuisines," she began, then a gorgeous smile spread across her face—one Noa had never seen on her face before. "Sometimes I even write about them under an anonymous blog."
Noa lowered his brow. "Food critic? That’s unexpected."
"Not exactly a critic," Clara corrected. "I just love delicious food and sharing my opinion about it. Understanding lives, cities, and passion through flavors is something I want to keep enjoying."
Watching her speak, Noa rested his chin on his hand. "That’s... surprisingly poetic."
The woman chuckled softly. "Thank you."
"So that’s how you know how to speak French? By visiting countries to try their unique dishes?" he asked, trying to hear more.
"I also lived three years in Paris," she said, nodding. "I can speak Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese as well."
Strangely, it didn’t sound like she was boasting.
It was more her attempt to share part of her life story, one Noa actually enjoyed listening to.
"And I almost summoned a demon trying to speak French," he said, half-joking, half-serious.
Clara, however, didn’t seem to mind. "It’s okay. I will protect you."
Her teasing voice was cute.
Noa studied her closely, trying to better judge her character.
At first glance, she carried herself as a glamorous, mature woman. But as it turned out, she was close to his age, and her personality wasn’t so bad either.
Meanwhile, Clara kept sharing her stories.
She mentioned the restaurants she had visited—everything from hidden ramen bars in Tokyo to tiny terraces in Italy. Her voice revealed a woman who knew how to enjoy life no matter where she went.
Noa didn’t interrupt her once. He didn’t need to.
Though the system refused to announce the quest completion. Clearly, he had to listen more.
So he did it.
Weight from his shoulders was gone, replaced by something softer.
Eventually, Clara noticed something. Her voice slowed, her cheeks turning red for the first time. "Ah, I am talking too much, right? You should have stopped me sooner."
Noa didn’t agree.
"Why would I? You looked really pretty. And I love watching what’s pretty."
He said this with a straight face.
Not once did his face shift, proving how serious he was.
For a moment, Clara’s gaze lingered on him. Her mouth opened once, but no sound came out. Only after grinning did she start speaking. "You are a smooth talker, aren’t you?"
"I am just honest," Noa replied, shrugging.
That earned him another laugh from the woman. It was soft, stretched long, and sounded melodic.
Seeing her laugh and make sounds like that was the only reason Noa wanted to speak this way. ’Now I get why men love women so much. It’s quite stimulating,’ he thought, having no intention of stopping.
"What about you?" Clara questioned suddenly. She sipped her wine and leaned closer, her deep ocean eyes showing intense curiosity. "I want to know more about you, too."
Noa knew this question would come.
That’s just the simple nature of relationships.
Now he had to share something as well, while also making sure not to expose his Dimensional Streamer identity. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
It wasn’t that hard.
"I love video games," he started, looking at Clara to see her reaction. "I always have. Maybe too much."
Her eyes narrowed.
She was listening, her expression calm and attentive.
"MMORPGs, open-worlds, roguelikes, story games—you name it. If there is a challenge or a story to lose myself in, I am going all out," he spoke with emotions even he was surprised by.
Clara also noticed a flicker of nostalgia in his voice.
"The most recent game I have been playing is called Silksong. It’s a sequel to Hollow Knight. Ever heard of it?"
The woman shook her head.
"It’s a game that can eat your soul. You might end up stuck with one boss for hours. It’s fun."
Clara grinned. "...Sounds miserable."
"Oh, it is," Noa admitted. "But it also gives me something to look forward to. If I practise and try hard enough, I can defeat every boss. Unfortunately, that’s not how real life works."
"I guess games have worlds that feel real to you," Clara said with full seriousness. "That’s beautiful."
"Or it’s nothing but escape," Noa said upon seeing how non-judgmental the woman was, and was surprised by his own honesty.
Clara gently countered his point. "No. The games make you feel something. That’s all that matters."
She paused as the waitress brought the plates of steaks.
Then she said with full certainty. "I want to play something as well...With you."
