"H-H-How?" Bill was the first to ask in utter disbelief as Flynn and all the other youths shared a small chuckle between themselves.

"Well, let’s just say we planned ahead. Way, way, way ahead" Flynn responded while gently tossing over the ethereal ore to Bill who skillfully caught it, and then presented it to his boss.

Aiden on the other hand, just began to remember the plan Flynn had come up with the day after they had gotten the details of their group quest.

Flynn, after finding out about the Eclipsian Prism being auctioned off, went to discuss with his brother.

"So why don’t we just make a fake?" Flynn had rhetorically said to his brother with a bright expression on his features after telling him about the ore being auctioned off.

"A fake?" Aiden had questioned curiously with a tilt of his head.

"Yeah. I still remember exactly how the ore looked like on the sixth level of the Crystal Caverns" Flynn had responded while also adding.

"And we also have our weapons to serve as a bit of reference"

"Hmmm… I see where you’re taking this but even if we can make a replica, do you know anyone who can make such a detailed one in a short period of time?" Aiden had asked with one of his eyebrows arched up.

"Yeah. Ivelia can" Flynn had swiftly responded while pulling out his necklace and showing Aiden the small aquamarine-green ore on it that Ivelia had gifted him.

Knowing fully well that Ivelia had been the one to craft the ore herself with a few alchemical potions here and there, a wave of realization had dawned upon Aiden as he widened his eyes.

Understanding where his younger brother was going with this, Aiden thought of the possibility of completely passing off a fake as the original in case they were able to get to the ore first before the Monolith.

’The only issue we would have would be if they got to it first instead…’ Aiden had thought to himself but even then, had still promptly agreed to go with the idea.

Making up their minds about the plan, the two youths quickly went to inform all the other members of their group quest about the idea while also giving them a filtered and abridged version of how they had originally come across the ore.

They also had to tell them about the crystal cavern’s sixth floor but ensured not to mention the giant Kraugr and just switched for a horde of normal kraugrs instead.

The encounter with Amael’s sword was also, obviously, never ever mentioned to the youths.

Feeling like the plan was worth a shot, especially since it would be such a crazy twist if they were actually able to pull it off, they all promptly agreed to it.

Ivelia and Flynn had then conversed for a good portion of the morning as the lady, who was exceptionally proficient at drawing, along with Flynn’s exceptionally good memory, soon settled on a drawing of a near perfect replica of the ore.

Now, staring at his brother as he also finished giving an abridged version of how they had all outsmarted The Monolith members to Harvey, Bill and the other guards, a look of genuine disbelief was present on all of their faces.

"That’s exceptionally smart of you" Harvey responded to Flynn with a lot of curiosity and amusement in his eyes.

"It was nothing honestly. It was more of a team effort really at the end of the day. Couldn’t have done it without my friends" Flynn humbly replied.

Having noticed from his periphery as all the other youths continuously kept shaking their heads in resignation at Flynn while he had been explaining, Harvey surmised that despite the youth being immensely smarter than he seemed, was one to never bask in it.

It was just a quality Flynn Belmont had, most especially because he believed in the possibility of him always been wrong about his plans and the undeniable truth that he wasn’t perfect.

That way, the youth had purposefully programmed himself to stay grounded in reality so that he would never become overconfident.

’Ask my brother if he thinks he’s a genius or a very smart person and he’ll humbly answer with the words ’No. I feel like I’m just slightly smarter than most is all’ ’ Aiden thought to himself whilst gazing at his brother with a sigh, a small smile present on his lips.

A few minutes later after the entire explanation to Harvey Roas and his entourage of bodyguards, the youths all began to leave the site of the auction hall, intent on reaching their hotel and just getting a good night’s rest.

After they all finally got into their cars and zoomed off, Harvey slowly turned over to Bill and with a smile, spoke to the bulky guard.

"Well I think you can drop the act now. They’re gone, obviously"

"Yes. I should" Bill calmly said, a crisp voice flowing out his mouth instead as a bunch of runes slowly left his body, leaving only Darius Forge standing in the spot.

Shocking the other guards and even some of the reporters who were nearby, another pretty interesting sight happened.

Hilda, the ranker from the Tower who had fought along with the youths, also began to walk over while transforming in a similar manner to Cordelia Violet.

"The academy will compensate you for all the reconstruction" Darius gave a handshake to Harvey to which the wealthy businessman firmly grasped.

"I’m sure they will but… I have to say, weren’t you two too relaxed considering your cadets may have been in harm’s way" Harvey curiously asked with a cocked eyebrow.

"You don’t need to worry about that. Darius here ensured to discreetly place a rune mark that would protect the youths from any fatal damage a day before their quests were given" Cordelia gently explained with a warm smile aimed at suavely handsome instructor while continuing.

"Since we instructors found out about their assigned quests a day before them, we already knew the cadets we would be handling so we also made preparations on our end, albeit unknown to any of them" she further explained.

"I see" Harvey nodded in understanding.

Darius on the other hand, gave a small respectful nod to Cordelia for her explanation and then asked Harvey a very important question.

"The other Eclipsian Prism you sold earlier today… I presume it was sold to a trustworthy buyer"

"Yes. Very much so. Me and him go way back so be rest assured. It’s in perfectly safe hands, especially when you consider that he’s part of Aquilith Haven’s Government" Harvey confidently replied.

’That’s what worries me…’ Darius inwardly commented while projecting a totally different outward demeanor.

"Alright then. Thank you very much for your cooperation Mr. Roas" Darius respectfully said once again while Harvey also replied in a similar manner.

"Yes. I look forward to working with the academy in the future. Till next time"

After the formalities for the goodbyes were done, Darius and Cordelia soon got into their own vehicle, a sleek futuristic model similar to a Ferrari on earth, the hood lowered.

"So, what’s their grading?" Cordelia asked Darius as the wind brushed past her beautiful purple hair, her hands tucking a few strands behind her ear.

"Well, if not for the excessive destruction of the auction house, maybe a perfect grading wouldn’t have been out of the question" Darius replied calmly, his eyes never leaving the road and his hands on the steering wheel.

"But it’s undisputed that they all handled the situation far better than we could’ve ever hoped" he added almost immediately while overtaking another car, Cordelia nodding approvingly in response to his words as she also commented.

"Especially when you put into consideration that they had to battle an SS-ranker too. Did not expect someone that powerful there…"

"That is true" Darius composedly responded.

A brief moment of comfortable silence was shared between both adults, the sound of their vehicle’s gentle purr smoothly gliding across the road keeping them company.

"I am very curious as to where Aiden and Flynn previously saw the ore though. I hear it’s an exceedingly rare item to come across" Cordelia soon broke the silence with a curious statement.

"That, Cordelia, is something I also have no clue about…" Darius replied after a short while.

In a fairly dark yet futuristically-modern office, the silhouette of a man chilling on a leather chair while reading a book as he placed both his crossed legs on a desk could barely be made out.

Casually flipping through the pages of the book, the door to the office soon opened and almost immediately, the bright fluorescent lights flooded the entire room and illuminated it.

"Hello Edgar. You’re here early" Magnus sarcastically said, his eyes never leaving his book.

"And you need to stop that habit of sitting in the dark while reading. It’s fucking creepy" Edgar replied with a sour expression while hanging his coat, his hair properly permed and the handle of a briefcase firmly grasped in his hands.

"Whatever. You’d never understand why I do it anyway" Magnus dismissed the Edgar’s comment, one of his hands retrieving the ’Eclipsian Prism’ from his spatial bracelet and placing it on the desk.

"Also, weren’t you guys were too loud? It was supposed to be a covert operation" Edgar once again spoke to the younger man with an annoyed squint on his elderly features.

Despite this though, the brown-haired man kept his focus on his book, not even sparing Edgar a glance even after his statement.

That was also why Magnus hadn’t noticed until the last minute as Edgar smashed the ore atop the desk with a sledge hammer.

-BAM!

-Crack… Shatter!!!

Both the ’Eclipsian Prism’ and the table exploded into a mixture of glassy, crystalline materials and wooden splinters in a single moment.

"Edgar! Are you out of your goddamn mind?!!!" Magnus jumped up in utter disbelief and shock, remembering how hard it had been to retrieve the ore.

"Oh shut your trap Magnus and take a look at this" Edgar threw his smartphone over to the brown-haired man, whom despite still being shocked, took a look at the screen of the relic.

As he stared at the relic’s screen, an even more shocking expression surfaced on his features.

"What sorcery is this…" the man muttered to himself in genuine disbelief as he stared at a picture of Flynn and Aiden, along with some of the other youths he had encountered, giving another Eclipsian Prism to Harvey Roas.

"Not sorcery Magnus. You were just outsmarted. The one you brought was clearly a fake" Edgar calmly replied while sitting on the couch opposite the destroyed desk and leather chair Magnus was at, all while placing the briefcase he had brought along on the glass table before him.

’But when?!’ Magnus who was still clearly unable to shake off his shock, pondered to himself as a string of thoughts rushed through his head.

’Was it during that time I was dealing with Aiden Belmont?’

’No! The other members in the auction hall would’ve made it impossible for any switch to have happened without anyone noticing’

’So when?!’

And then, as he kept thinking about it, it immediately clicked.

’That damn fucking brat!!! It was during that time he lunged at me with a spear as we tumbled into the ground!!!’

’It was also the time the ore rolled out of my hands while landing into his!!! It was enough time for him to switch it before I got up while throwing the fake into the portal without me ever noticing!!!’

’Fuck!’ Magnus cursed in annoyance but then, something even more unbelievable caught his eye again!

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" he asked in disbelief and resignation while staring at the radiant ethereal ore resting in the opened briefcase Edgar had brought in.

"No. This is the real deal Magnus" Edgar replied with a devious grin while explaining further.

"I found out from one of my close contacts that Harvey actually found two Eclipsian Prisms so I just had to strike a deal with whomever discreetly bought the second… or the first… whatever"

’That has to be premium information if even the dark web wasn’t aware of it…’ Magnus thought to himself as he stared at Edgar, wondering just how well connected the crazy elderly man was.

"And what did they request in return for it?" Magnus soon asked with a squint, his shock gradually leaving his features.

"High-powered weapons" Edgar casually replied while placing his chin on his interlocked hands.

"And what did they want to use it for?" Magnus warily asked again.

"Hell if I care!" Edgar declared with a wave of his hands.

"The main thing is, we got it! Now we can finally complete the railgun" he maliciously spoke.

Magnus who just watched the crazy middle-aged man wickedly grinning to himself, just inwardly sighed again while thinking.

’Well at least my plan remains the same despite all that has happened…’

’But seriously, the next time I encounter those fucking brats, I’m sending them to the afterlife!’ Magnus promised himself with an inward declaration.
