Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 214: Case
"You have things ready?"
"Just as you wanted, father"
As soon as the duke heard that the prince had some dirt on him, he was ready. He has a case against the high court to make the 13th prince lose a significant place in the race for the throne.
The duke’s aim wasn’t high because he could never aim that high, getting a prince imprisoned is impossible. The evidence is too good enough to put him behind bars, but it is good enough to make him lose face.
The case against the prince surrounds the fact that he was supporting a house of heretics. With a bit of digging, he found that Onia was from a declining household and quickly found that Theia was a heretic.
Supporting a heretic is a serious crime with strict consequences. Most people end up in jail or being executed. They will have a case when they argue that Onia has no right to be in the mobile prison instead of Theia, the true heretic.
Then at that point, they could get some dirt on this topic since no matter what answer he gave, he would still look bad.
At that point, the duke will win the case.
As for Reeva, he plans to have him smuggled out of the city. If the case against Brent goes well, then the case against Reeva would be worse. Because Reeva is directly involved with getting Theia out of the city.
He should have been on the prince’s side, because if the prince had gotten off lightly, Reeva would have received a lesser sentence. But this is his only chance to strike at the royals; it comes once in a blue moon, and he is also exacting his revenge. He has to get this.
Other than that, he’s also confident that he could get Reeva out of harm’s way.
"See you in 2 days"
Haris bowed down and left the room, the door creek closed leaving the smoke for the duke to blow on for his entertainment.

Theia awoke to a strange sight, it had been cold during the night, but at least she could sleep soundly on a bed. However, when she awoke, Hilda had already gone somewhere else.
Updat𝓮d from freewēbnoveℓ.com.
Normally she would have waited for her and Reeva to have meals and she would have it after. She’s no master of the maid but it would be nice to have Hilda eat together with her.
However, meals are still prepared. On the table was her breakfast. A little steam coming out of it indicates that it was made fresh. The village’s meal options are limited. But it was plenty for her appetite. For breakfast, she had a sausage and a sunny-side egg with ketchup.
Sick and tired of eating beef jerky or a wild deer, Theia welcomes this village feast. The forks and knife, although shabby could easily cut through the meal. Earning herself a full stomach for the morning.
Finishing her meal, she shuffled herself to the door ready to open it but at that moment she heard a noise on the other side of the wall. Theia slowly opens the door to discover what it is. The hallway is mostly made of wood, and the smell of oak fills the air. However, in the middle of winter, the homely smell is ruined by a strong iron scent.
Blood splatters on the floor running the dark oak with a stain of red. Theia looks around and sees that there’s no one here. avoiding the blood she moves through the hall to the living room to find the course of the noise.
"Hello, princess! How’s a thing over there?"
She is greeted by the same annoying doctor as before. She heard his rumbling from her room. His white coat could no longer be called "white." Despite having faced death several times, he appears to be as happy as ever.
"The hallway..."
"Yep, that’s me... Well I mean I didn’t do that, your maid did it but you get what I mean"
Theia couldn’t help but sigh, since yesterday the moment Hilda saw this guy around. The maid just couldn’t resist the urge to sever his neck. It is well deserved considering the background of this individual. But at some point, the maid really needs to let it rest.
"Where’s everyone else?"
"They’re packing things for the journey since this will likely be their last village visit"
Sipping on hot water to keep his body warm, the doctor points toward the door.
"You could follow then if you want"
"...."
Theia felt extremely cold at the moment. Why did they leave this deranged killer inside the house alone with her? This was a borrowed house that the village had left behind. The cold has not been kind to everyone, and the unfortunate die in the white cold place. And they are currently living in this home without an owner.
The doctor looked over his shoulder and saw that Theia was a bit on edge.
"They force me to sign a mystic oath to not hurt anyone anymore. So don’t worry, I’m harmless."
Theia doesn’t look convinced, she knows what the mystic oath is. But trusting it is a differnt story, the agreement could have loopholes.
"Don’t give me that look, they grind me for an hour to see if there’s any loopholes. I really can’t hurt anyone right now."
"Why did you sign it?" From her perspective, this is not a good deal for the doctor because it restricts his freedom. However, she is relieved that the man has been put under oath.
"The lady wouldn’t stop killing me if I didn’t sign it, and it got a bit annoying. But that lady still kills me anyway! such a scammer"
The doctor shrugs in annoyance. sipping another cup of hot water.
"Why did you kill the tribesman?"
Theia’s question piques his interest once more. His eyes met hers and came into focus. The room they are in appears to be slightly colder than before. Perhaps she is starting to feel the air that seeps through the glass window. However, the cold eyes of the killer, the doctor, shattered that thought.
"Do you want to know?"
The doctor smiles. His red eyes filled with unexplainable emotion.
