Global Disaster: I Will Slay Gods In This Second Chance!-Chapter 82: Stats and Skills Summary
Shinjuku Ward.
Inside one of the small apartments, Zold sat in a meditative position, absorbing the Spirit Orbs he gained from the trip.
All the Spirit Orbs contained a deep purple energy, swirling like an entrance to the abyss.
This was the signature energy of unnatural-type monsters.
Unnatural-type monsters bore strange, biological structures, making their skills entirely incompatible with other beings.
In a sense, they should be completely impossible to absorb, yet Zold showed no signs of slowing down, absorbing the Spirit Orbs without pause.
A few minutes later, he finished absorbing all the Spirit Orbs.
He opened his eyes, blinking in surprise.
’Not bad.’
During this trip, he gained a total of six Spirit Orbs, five from Tier I Demon-class monsters and one from the sole Tier II Demon-class monster.
For Tier III Beast-class monsters and below, unless they had specialized skills, he didn’t bother to take them, selling them to the DHA.
Of the skills he obtained from the spirit orbs, most were useless to him.
If he wanted to use them, he needed to modify them thoroughly, otherwise, he didn’t have the biological structure to use them.
Zold brushed them aside, focusing on the ones that were useful to him.
He had received 25 skills in full, but only six of them were useful to him.
The first one, of course, was the Mysterious Eye of Despair’s proto-domain skill: [Heart Trial].
Its effect was the same as what they experienced in Tsumogui.
He could lay down a domain where any being who set foot in it would be forced to face their fears. Unfortunately, because it’s a mere proto-domain skill, he couldn’t harm any of those inside his domain.
He couldn’t manipulate their fears as well.
While powerful, Zold didn’t see much use for it in the time being.
The other five were: [Summon Centipede], [Extreme Poison Resistance], [Gaze of Petrification], [Sound Snatcher], and [Silent Steps].
Most were control-type skills, and the others were more like support abilities.
At his current strength, there were barely any existing skills that could surpass his current destructive output.
[Onestab] was enough for him to kill anyone he wanted dead.
He paused for a moment, then reorganized his skills in his mind.
—
Offensive: [Prideful Flames], [Infernal Claws], [Onestab], [Critical Bite], [Stinging Flame], [Poisonous Yellow Flame], [Frenzied Lightning], [Yellow Voltage], [Lightning Horned Thrust], [Ice Bite], [Hydro Breath], and [Extremely Tight Force].
Defensive: [Iron Skin], [Cold Thick Skin], [Steady Defense], [High Spiritual Poison Resistance], [Extreme Poison Resistance], and [Body Decomposition].
Movement: [High Jump], [Gravity Pounce], [Shadow Movement], [Flashing Speed], [Small Presenceless Breathing], [Earthly Movement], [Invisible Presence], and [Silent Steps].
Support: [Odor Sensitivity], [Azure Sight], [Summon Centipede], [Intimidating Howl], [Muscle Tightening], [Shadow Division], [Freezing Control], [Heat Control], [White Armament], [Darkness Descent], [Earthly Control], and [Gigantification].
Mastery: [Water Mastery], [Darkness Mastery], [Ice Mastery], [Metal Mastery], and [Unnatural Mastery].
Control: [Spiritual Lag], [Bloody Life], [Gaze of Petrification], [Hypnotic Gaze], [Sound Snatcher], and [Heart Trial].

’I’m still missing a couple of mastery skills...’
After summarizing his skills, Zold checked his attributes next.

His original attributes were 115.
However, after deriving [Darkness Mastery], [Ice Mastery], [Metal Mastery], and [Unnatural Mastery], he gained 15 points added directly to his main attributes for each successful derivation.
Deriving skills boosted his stats, but the points gained varied. Skills with Mastery on their names were far more difficult to derive than ordinary skills, which was why each successful derivation of them yielded 15 points.
With four successful derivations, he obtained a total of 60 attribute points, spread evenly to all four main attributes, bringing his current stats to 130 each.
The limit for early Vital Spark stage awakeners was 150 points for each attribute. He was already approaching it unintentionally.
Aside from that, he also obtained a total of 10 evolution points, 1 from each Tier I Demon-class monster he personally killed and 5 from the sole Tier II Demon-class monster.
For Tier III Beast-class monsters, he didn’t obtain any evolutions from them anymore.
’... Are the points gained related to my current stage? Since Tier III Beast-classes and Tier I Demon-classes were still technically Awakening stage threats, they offered little to no points.’
Zold thought for a moment, then brushed it aside.
He could think about it another time.
He focused on his current evolution points, allocating them to his special attributes as usual.
Though this time, he only allocated it to Comprehension.

Almost immediately, the effects showed themselves.
Zold felt his mind become slightly clearer, as if some fog covering his thoughts disappeared, increasing his thinking speed.
’Very good. My comprehension is naturally high to begin with. Add to this boost, then I’ll be able to derive skills much more faster...’
Successful derivations mean more points added directly to his four main attributes!
’It’s not obvious yet, but I’m forming a systemic cycle. Not bad.’
After checking his gains, Zold now began to consolidate his strength.
Due to Limitless Potential, he could acquire any skill and ability, but he was also at risk of being a jack of all trades and master of none.
Firstly, he laid out all his spiritual energy types: colorless, fire, earth, unnatural, darkness, ice, lightning, metal, and water.
Then, next, he laid out all the skills he used the most: [Prideful Flames], [Onestab], [Formlessness], [Shadow Movement], and [Invisible Presence].
Then, he considered his current expression path: as ’The One Without Equal’, he was naturally proficient in all expression paths, having reached the pinnacle of each expression path.
But right now, he had only entered the first stage of the Martial Artist path and the Mage path. He hasn’t even entered the Manifestor path yet due to the lack of a Manifestor skill at his disposal.
Even expression paths had stages, but currently the limit for everyone, including Zold, was the first stage. Not because there was a cap, but to advance in the next stages, one needed materials and opportunities that could only be obtained in later calamities.
After reorganizing everything, Zold began to think about what he needed.
’Hm... since I’m already approaching the limit of the early stage, then I need to acquire an Origin.’
All of his Origins were already planned out, and Nagito had even promised to help him acquire two of his Origins.
’I’ll use him to get my first Origin then.’
Zold originally planned to acquire a different Origin, but since Muramasa was missing, he’ll have to put that Origin on hold for now.
Instead, he’ll choose the one that was the easiest to acquire.
’I’ll call Nagito later to send me those Spirit Orbs.’
It might take some time since some of those Spirit Orbs were rare.
Zold didn’t care.
Nagito deserved it for trying to use him to clear Tsumogui.
Besides obtaining his Origin, he also needed a proper weapon.
But for this, he already had a plan.
Since the calamity was being accelerated, he could get those particularly useful Demonic Armaments ahead of time.
Then, using his forging expertise, he could make them into his own exclusive weapon.
’Tsukigare...’
A name flashed in his mind.
After planning out everything, Zold stood up.
He glanced at his phone, seeing a notification silently appear.
It was from a rare contact.
[Akihito: sent a picture.]
[Akihito: Captain, you should come next time.]
The picture was of Akihito and the rest having dinner.
Seeing this, Zold fell silent but didn’t reply.
He was leaving after all his matters here were settled. It was pointless to form any relationships with people here.
Or else, he would just repeat what he did to the twins and to Maria.
It was better if he were alone.
