Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos-Chapter 69 - 61: Celestial Dao Contract
"Good thing Second Child found the Omen Stone, otherwise if the territory’s mist was breached, the consequences would be unimaginable."
Yi Tian patted Second Child on the head.
Yi Tian had already confirmed—not only would there be five Golden Warriors coming to attack his territory. Once the Omen Light corroded a hole in the mist, even stronger enemies would descend.
The mist exists to protect the Lord. If a Lord has no mist, they’re just a lamb waiting for slaughter.
Especially fat sheep like Yi Tian—there would be countless tribes catching the scent and swarming in to tear Yi Tian to shreds.
After confirming the Omen Light hadn’t activated, Yi Tian moved back to the Omen Stone.
"Shh!"
At that moment, Yi Tian suddenly heard a faint noise from the mist. Yi Tian put a finger to his lips to remind Second Child to stay quiet.
Second Child immediately pressed both little hands over his mouth, looking adorable.
Yi Tian slowly crept toward the mist and pressed his ear against the boundary wall.
On the other side.
"Where’s the Omen Stone? Who can tell me where it went?" A man with deer antlers and black scales on his face was shouting loudly.
The other Golden Warriors didn’t even dare breathe loudly in front of this antlered man.
"When the light dissipated, it was already gone. Maybe it went inside the territory." After a long time, a Minotaur finally gathered the courage to speak.
"Are you fucking kidding me, did the stone grow legs?" The antlered man kicked that Minotaur flying in a rage.
"Could it be that evil Lord took the Omen Stone into his territory?" The Elder of the Three-Eyed One-Horned Race asked humbly.
"How would he know we used the Omen Stone?" The antlered man glared at the Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe’s Elder.
He strongly suspected that a rival faction had taken the chance to steal the Omen Stone and was now trying to pin the blame on the Horn Alliance.
"That Lord is extremely cunning, resourceful. Our High Priest said he develops at a speed that seems blessed by the gods, downright baffling," the Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe Elder said to the antlered man.
"Hmph! Now’s not the time to worry about the Lord. It’s us you should be worried about, got it?" The antlered man roared at the four Golden Warriors, "The Omen Stone is a Supreme Treasure that our Alliance Leader bought at a high cost, borrowed from Demon Wolf Abyss. It’s their one and only Supreme Treasure. If we lose the Omen Stone and anger Demon Wolf Abyss, when it re-emerges, our Horn Alliance will be wiped out."
At the thought of the abyss and its terror, everyone shivered.
"Tomorrow morning, the Lord’s mist boundary wall will allow some to enter. We’ll go back and ask the High Priests to help, send in even stronger Warriors. We have no choice but to pray the Omen Stone was snatched by that evil Lord and not stolen by our enemies," the Elder of the Heaven-Reaching Tribe of the Minotaur Race said gravely.
"We have no choice!"
The other three Golden Warriors exchanged glances and agreed.
"I’ll go back and report to the Alliance Leader personally. This needs their decision. But, breaching that evil Lord is certain. We must turn his territory upside down," the antlered man held back his fury—he knew that now only the High Priests could intervene.
Though Demon Wolf Abyss is kept in check by some mysterious force and its creatures can’t leave, it’s always been a transcendent force in this region. Even when the Kings ruled together, they had to give Demon Wolf Abyss some respect.
What’s more, now that all the Kings’ lives have ended, there are no Kings left among the Ten Kingdoms.
The native kings of the Celestial Dao World are SS-level to the Lords, and Diamond Level War Generals are S-level.
Yi Tian waited until he couldn’t hear anything, then pulled his head back.
"Looks like things are getting big. If the Horn Alliance can’t recover the Omen Stone, they’re in for a world of trouble," Yi Tian muttered, having learned something useful.
Tomorrow morning, the Lords of Celestial Dao World would be attacked by the Indigenous People.
Also, Yi Tian was startled by just how important the Omen Stone was.
That Omen Stone was supposedly a unique Supreme Treasure from Demon Wolf Abyss.
These guys couldn’t breach his wall, so they planned to use the High Priests’ power for a heavy assault.
"I’ve really stirred things up now!" Yi Tian picked up the Omen Stone, pulled Second Child along, and left.
The Omen Stone was now in his hands—no way he was returning it.
This thing was a Lord-killing weapon. Just one night and a Lord’s mist would be corroded away.
Without the mist, not even S-level Powerhouses could defend themselves.
The moment Demon Wolf Abyss lent the Omen Stone to the Horn Alliance, it was already marked as an enemy.
If he returned the Omen Stone, would the Abyss spare Yi Tian?
Too naive!
Besides, there might be other uses for the Omen Stone, Yi Tian just needed time to dig them out.
Yi Tian told Second Child to head back to the villa while he went alone to a bluestone hill, placed the Omen Stone in a small hole, and sealed the entrance with rocks.
Yi Tian didn’t dare keep it in the boutique warehouse, afraid something might happen.
"Lord, your food’s gotten cold. I’ll cook you another meal," Liyue greeted Yi Tian as he finally returned. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"No need, just heat it up," Yi Tian said, not caring.
By candlelight, Second Child was holding a bottle of soda and a big sausage, with a bagged chicken drumstick next to him, munching away with gusto.
This food was from the first treasure chest opening, bought by Yi Tian at a steep price a month ago. All were specialty foods from different planets; Yi Tian even had a pack of Huaxia-made biscuits.
Back then, he’d stocked up on packaged food for emergencies—enough for him and seven Kiddo’s to last a month.
Recently, food stock in the small room had been dwindling fast. Yi Tian knew the Little Kiddo’s had been stealing snacks—Third and Fourth Child were the biggest suspects. Out of indulgence, Yi Tian didn’t say anything.
Liyue and Qixin’s food was too unpalatable—the Kiddo’s just couldn’t get used to it.
For Second Child, skipping dinner meant he could eat more snacks instead.
"Please wait a moment, Lord," Liyue nodded and went into the kitchen.
With nothing else to do, Yi Tian logged on to the Auction House to check out the food situation.
Inside the auction’s food section, be it the meat, vegetable, or grain divisions, every area was empty.
Who would’ve thought? At the start of the month everyone was "the rich feast, wine and meat go rotten at the doors," "fish glisten warm in the midday sun," "smelling the fragrance of ripe rice talking of harvest"—food was so abundant it couldn’t be finished, the next round of crops and veggies almost ready, a real utopia.
It had only been five days since the start of the month. Except for Day 1, when things were good, it’s been one disaster after another since then.
Even though some profiteers had stashes, ice storage, indoor growing systems, and tons of fish, plus they’d wiped out the locusts...
They certainly wouldn’t sell a thing now—they’d wait until all the Lords ran out and then jack up prices like crazy, bleeding the Trial Takers dry.
Same as always—"for day-to-day goods people simply hold back when prices soar; for food, there’s no holding back—you have to eat."
Purple Phoenix Moon Dance is requesting to start a chat...
Yi Tian accepted the chat. He remembered Purple Phoenix Moon Dance was helping him collect Elemental Warrior Design Maps.
Yi Tian still had 97 Element Cores, but no blueprints, so he couldn’t make more Elemental Warriors.
Thinking of how Purple Phoenix Moon Dance once spent tens of millions to buy a Five Elements Sacred Fruit, Yi Tian couldn’t help but marvel at the monthly assessment advantage S-level Powerhouses had.
They’d earn more Celestial Dao Coins in one assessment than he could in a whole month. With one more assessment, they could build a wall identical to Yi Tian’s.
"Purple Phoenix Moon Dance, hey! Are you done gathering Elemental Warrior Design Maps?" This time Yi Tian didn’t bother playing games with her.
She wasn’t the deep schemer type like the Great Emperor. Yi Tian wanted a win-win, not to fleece her.
"Quite a few Lords in the region have Elemental Warrior Design Maps, but I’m out of Celestial Dao Coins. I’ve only bought thirty—got them after opening some treasure chests today," Purple Phoenix Moon Dance replied.
Thirty? Not what Yi Tian hoped for. Thirty wouldn’t even get an S-level Spirit Fruit.
Honestly, Yi Tian really wanted those thirty Elemental Warrior Design Maps, to boost his turf’s strength for tomorrow’s battle.
Others could hire Mercenaries, but not Yi Tian. Regular Mercenaries were useless to him—strong ones had one goal: "Fleece the Fat Sheep."
If you took out Yi Tian, you’d be rich overnight—who cares about being a Mercenary anymore?
Yi Tian couldn’t risk it.
"Oh? Then what did you want to talk to me about?" Yi Tian asked Purple Phoenix Moon Dance.
"Wanted to borrow some Celestial Dao Coins from you, so I can buy Elemental Warrior Design Maps, and then trade for your S-level and SS-level Spirit Fruits," she replied.
"Wait... and you think that’s...appropriate?" Yi Tian was speechless. Lords lending each other money now, is that a thing?
Purple Phoenix Moon Dance wasn’t usually that clueless. Why would she say something this silly?
Leaving aside whether you’d even survive to pay me back...
What if you just stiffed me?
What could I do to you anyway?
"Why isn’t it appropriate? You get the Elemental Warrior Design Maps, and I get the Spirit Fruits. Seems fair to me," Purple Phoenix Moon Dance replied.
"We’ve never even met. Apart from cooperation, there’s nothing between us. If you can’t convince me, I’m not lending you any Celestial Dao Coins," Yi Tian said, very firm.
"Stingy! I wanted to borrow Celestial Dao Coins because I consider you a friend. I, Purple Phoenix Moon Dance, don’t stoop to cheating people," she replied with a pout.
"A little? That’s a billion ’little’. Last time you wanted to fleece me. Cut the crap. Between us, it’s about mutual benefit, that’s it." Yi Tian added: "You opened some treasure chests today? Did the Indigenous People invade? Got any food?"
Yi Tian was thinking—maybe the Monster Region got raided today and there were treasure chest rewards.
"Yeah, we got invaded. No food though! But I still want to borrow some money from you. Don’t worry, I’ll pay you interest. [Celestial Dao Contract]*1."
"Hmph..."
After the contract, Purple Phoenix Moon Dance even gave a prideful "hmph", as if unhappy with Yi Tian’s distrust.
"The Celestial Dao Contract, once both Lords’ details are filled in, becomes a credit contract. Once created, it’s enforced by the Celestial Dao Rules. If broken, you’ll die and your Dao will dissipate."
After reading the contract’s info, Yi Tian realized Purple Phoenix Moon Dance had come prepared.
She knew there was no way he’d lend her money unless it was through a contract.
It’s different from a slave contract—the Celestial Dao Contract is for equals.
Under the Celestial Dao Rules, both sides’ credibility is overseen. If Yi Tian lends her Celestial Dao Coins, the rules only supervise her, so she’d have to pay back in time or else.
But here’s the thing: why should Yi Tian lend her money? Isn’t it better to keep developing?
"If you’re willing to include that you’ll never harm my name and won’t reveal my info in the contract, I’ll lend you the money with no interest."
After thinking it through, Yi Tian spoke up.
Purple Phoenix Moon Dance is S-level, with over 3,000 Attack Power—insanely strong. If things got dangerous, he could hire her to defend his territory.
A pretty solid insurance policy!
Hiring S-level Powerhouses costs at least a million Celestial Dao Coins. That’s chump change to Yi Tian.
With the Celestial Dao Contract in place, Purple Phoenix Moon Dance wouldn’t dare kill him.
If it were another Mercenary, as soon as they saw the Wealth Tower, they’d know Yi Tian was loaded.
"Deal!"
To Yi Tian’s surprise, Purple Phoenix Moon Dance agreed immediately.
"[Celestial Dao Contract] Transaction [None]."
After filling in her info, she sent the contract over for Yi Tian to add his details.
Actually, Yi Tian just had to fill in his info ID—his Celestial Dao Stone would prompt him to sign the contract.
But Purple Phoenix Moon Dance knew Yi Tian kept his information strictly secret, so she didn’t expect him to expose it before the deal. It made her seem pretty generous.
