Her Dark Desires-Chapter 113: Are You Happy?

Sanders Mansion.

"Leo." Eliana stretched out her hand as her golden retriever ran to her; immediately he sighted her.

Butler Jules scoffed at how a dog who was always moping around suddenly became jovial at the sight of his master.

Eliana hugged Leo gently and showered kisses on his face as she said, "I have missed you so much, Leo. Have you missed me too?"

Leo barked softly in reply, causing her to laugh softly.

Zach, who was making a call outside, came inside to see this scene and frowned. Why are they both behaving as if they didn’t see each other through video call?

He ignored them and looked at Jules. "Where is my mother?"

"She went out for a brief meeting at her foundation, but she will be back soon." Jules replied.

Eliana stood up with Leo in her arms and turned to face Zach. "Didn’t you miss Leo as well?"

Zach looked at the dog, who was also staring at him. He sighed and patted Leo’s head gently.

"Why does it look like he has gained weight?" Zach asked.

Jules laughed and said, "Leo is a big eater and barely gets sick."

"You hear that, Leo? You are such a good boy." Eliana said in a babyish tone.

Zach looked at Leo and was about to say something when his phone rang.

"Give me a minute."

While Zach answered his call, Eliana dropped Leo and said to Jules, "Thank you for taking care of him."

"It was a pleasure." Butler Jules replied. He glanced at Zach, who was already shouting at someone on the phone, and softly said to her, "Madam Charlotte may come off as harsh and cold, and most times she is, but never think she will stop loving you because of a few... complications."

Eliana smiled softly and said, "Thank you, Butler Jules."

"You are welcome." Butler Jules said and excused himself, taking Leo along.

"Mom just sent me a message that she will be here in less than ten minutes." Zach said, shoving his phone into his pocket.

"Zach, do you think Mom will accept our decision on surrogacy?"

Zach looked at her as if she had asked a confusing question and replied, "It’s our baby, not hers or anyone else’s."

"I know, but..."

"Eli, relax." Zach said, and then he heard a car noise outside. "I think my mom is here."

Even though Butler Jules and Zach had assured her to not worry, Eliana still felt anxious facing Charlotte, and Charlotte entering the house with a frown on her face didn’t help matters.

"Why do you look so pissed?" Zach asked the moment he saw his mother.

Charlotte’s gaze shifted from Zachary to Eliana multiple times before she answered, "I had to take out some trash today; that’s why."

She looked at Eliana and said, "So is it true?"

"Mom."

Charlotte ignored Zach and asked her daughter-in-law, "Can you really not get pregnant?"

"I... I’m sorry." Eliana said as her eyes turned teary.

Charlotte sighed and whispered "I need a drink," as she walked away to her mini bar in the living room.

Eliana watched as Charlotte brought out two glasses and poured whiskey and ice on them. She thought she was going to give Zach the other glass but to her surprise, her mother-in-law brought it to her.

"Drink." Charlotte said as gently clink her glass with Eliana before drinking evey thing at a go.

Eliana also drank it all at once and winced when she felt the drink burning sensation on her throat.

"You shouldn’t apologize for something that’s beyond your control." Charlotte softly said and slowly sat on the couch with her legs crossed. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"At first I was angry. I mean, I have mentioned how much I wanted a grandchild after the loss of little treasure, but both of you never mentioned your situation to me." Charlotte said, and her gaze moved to Zach as she asked, "Do you think I will start hating her once I find out that she couldn’t have a child?"

"It isn’t what you think, Mom."

"Really? Because Ryan knew about it and I had to find out about it on the internet. If it isn’t really what I think then why didn’t you tell me?"

Zach sighed and held Eliana hand as he said "I’m sorry."

Charlotte gasped and said "So you still know how to apologize."

"Mom." Zach called out softly.

Charlotte looked at them and asked "Are you happy?"

"I am happy and as long as Eliana is by my side that will never change." Zachary stated.

"What about you Eliana?"

"I am also happy."

"So you guys are both telling me that you are happy with never having a child? I am not happy about that; then again, it’s not as if you care." Charlotte said and stood up ready to leave when Zach said.

"We are having a child. I have found a good surrogacy agency, and with their help, we will find someone who will carry our child. And I don’t care if you disapprove of this or not, but our decision is final."

Charlotte stood silent for a while and when she turned around, there was a soft smile was on her face as she said "Congratulations."

"Can’t I get a hug, Mom?" Eliana asked.

"No, not until I have forgiven you for lying to me. However, if you want to earn my forgiveness, then I would like a creamy cheesecake, baked by your own hands."

Eliana laughed softly when she heard that and ran to hugged Charlotte.

"Mom." Eliana called out with a cry and the moment Charlotte wrapped her hand around her, she began crying again.

Zach smiled and suddenly felt his phone buzzing in his pocket.

He removed it to see that it was Ryan calling and asked, "Hello."

"I have finally found the identity of the one who leaked the video." Ryan said over the phone.

"Who?"

"Sloane Moore but since Sloane never left the party, then that means the real person who did this is..."

"Amber." Zach completed his brother’s sentence, and the rage that was currently gathering in his heart could only be relieved by one thing: revenge.
