Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Sister and Mom

Su Ze wasn’t the only one staring at the Undying Salamander; so were six Cocoon Stage Hunters.

Although Mrs. Yun had killed the Undying Salamander by herself, the six of them had previously forced it to use its life-saving ability.

Of course, even with its life-saving ability, the Undying Salamander couldn’t have escaped Mrs. Yun’s grasp.

But when it came down to it, these six had put in a great deal of effort during the battle. If they hadn’t forced the Undying Salamander to burn its life-saving ability and made it more cautious, the entire team might not have survived those last few minutes.

The six all felt they deserved a piece of the Undying Salamander, but they didn’t dare say so outright. They could only wait and see how Mrs. Yun would divide the spoils.

Mrs. Yun took charge, and they began by dividing the Tier 1 beasts.

There were 56 Tier 1 beast carcasses. Four had clearly been killed by individuals, so the remaining 52 were pooled for group distribution.

Su Ze and Liou Wenxin had used the Head of the Wailer to help kill 35 of the Tier 1 beasts. They were given primary credit for these kills and thus received half of the spoils.

No one else objected. Or, if they had objections, they didn’t dare voice them.

The remaining Tier 1 beasts were divided equally among everyone, including the three Hunters who had died in battle. Mrs. Yun set aside shares for them; she would later go through the Black and White Bar to transfer the spoils’ equivalent value in Lins to their families, along with an additional payment for their loss.

The Tier 2, Grade-D Iron Clamp Crab was split evenly between the six Cocoon Stage Hunters and Liou Wenxin. Each of them would get around seven or eight hundred thousand.

Then came the main event. All eyes turned to the charred corpse of the Undying Salamander.

"Besides its extract, the Undying Salamander doesn’t have many valuable materials. Evolutionary Technology’s buyback price for a normal Tier 2, S-grade extract is about one hundred million. The Undying Salamander’s extract is rarer, so it might fetch a premium. One hundred twenty million seems about right."

Mrs. Yun gave a rough estimate, and the six Cocoon Stage Hunters all nodded in agreement.

"You six put in a lot of work. How about you each take eight million, and I keep the extract?"

"Thank you!" The six of them nodded repeatedly, completely satisfied.

Even if Mrs. Yun had given them nothing, they wouldn’t have dared to complain.

With that, they had all agreed on how to divide the spoils.

Next came the harvesting. Everyone got busy, using portable extractors to create the extracts and salvaging useful materials from the beast carcasses.

Su Ze watched with longing as Mrs. Yun used an extractor on the Undying Salamander’s corpse, producing a vial of orange extract.

Once all the extracts and materials for distribution were gathered, they were appraised and then handed out to everyone.

All told, everyone received at least six or seven hundred thousand worth of spoils, far more than their commission.

Some chose to take the extracts and materials directly. That way, they could sell them personally later. It would take more time and effort to find buyers, but they could get a slightly higher price than the appraised value.

Others chose to make trades on the spot, selling their spoils to someone else for a direct bank transfer. That way, they didn’t have to worry about being targeted for their loot.

Su Ze, of course, chose the latter.

Among the Pupa Stage evolvers, Su Ze and Liou Wenxin received the most valuable spoils. Su Ze’s share was valued at over four million, and Liou Wenxin’s was around five million.

But to Su Ze, this amount of money was a drop in the ocean. He couldn’t give a damn.

The only thing he was interested in was the Undying Salamander extract.

Just then, Su Ze noticed a notification on his phone: a five-million transfer.

He looked up to see Liou Wenxin approaching him with a smile. "The Head of the Wailer was yours to begin with. The spoils I earned with it should belong to you."

"We’re practically family, don’t be so formal!" Su Ze gestured as if to send the money back. "I only provided the tool. You did all the work."

"Oh, stop it." Liou Wenxin gave him a flirtatious eye-roll. "I don’t know where you got such a thick skin at your age."

As she spoke, she glanced around. Seeing that no one was paying attention, she discreetly slipped the Head of the Wailer into Su Ze’s hand.

Su Ze coolly put the Head of the Wailer away and asked, "Hey, could you ask Mrs. Yun for me how much she wants for the Undying Salamander extract? I’ll buy it."

"Oh? So it’s ’Mrs. Yun’ now, is it?"

Su Ze turned his head to find Mrs. Yun standing right behind him.

"If you like it, I’ll call you that every day," Su Ze said with a serious expression and a sincere tone, but his eyes were glued to the Undying Salamander extract in Mrs. Yun’s hand.

"Give me a break. With that smooth tongue of yours, who knows how many ’moms’ you’ll have in the future. I have no interest in fighting over a son with a bunch of women you’ve sweet-talked."

Mrs. Yun stopped teasing him and held out the Undying Salamander extract. "Here, take it."

"How much? I’ll transfer you the money."

"We’re practically family, don’t be so formal!" Liou Wenxin said with a laugh.

"We were only able to hold out against the beast swarm because of you. Consider this vial of extract a thank-you gift," Mrs. Yun added.

"Oh, I couldn’t possibly..."

He was refusing verbally, but his body was very honest. His hands gripped the Undying Salamander extract tightly.

"Alright, take it. Forget the money. It’s not like I’m hurting for pocket change."

Liou Wenxin also chimed in, "Money doesn’t mean much to us. Most of our daily expenses are covered by the organization anyway."

With everyone insisting, Su Ze could only "reluctantly" accept the Undying Salamander extract.

’I must have been born under a lucky star,’ he couldn’t help but reflect. ’Ever since I transmigrated, I haven’t had to worry about money once.’

’First, my "former dad" gave me two hundred million. Now I meet Liou Wenxin and Mrs. Yun, and they just hand over an extract worth more than a hundred million.’

’My dad may be gone, but who gives a damn? Now I have a "sister" and a "mom"!’ 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

’They’ve filled the void in my... heart.’

Many people saw Mrs. Yun and Liou Wenxin give the Undying Salamander extract to Su Ze. He immediately felt gazes landing on him—looks of envy, jealousy, and greed...

"It’ll be a while before dawn. You should absorb the extract now. I’ll stand guard," said Mrs. Yun.

Su Ze nodded. That was perfect. With Mrs. Yun standing guard for him, his safety was guaranteed. Besides, once he absorbed the Undying Salamander extract, those with ill intentions would have nothing left to covet.

In front of everyone, Su Ze tilted his head back and downed the Undying Salamander extract in one gulp.

’This stuff tastes fucking awful!’

The Undying Salamander extract was like a vial of poison. It tasted like pesticides and burned his throat.

Su Ze swallowed it all in one go. A searing heat spread from his throat, down his esophagus, and into his stomach.

He immediately sat down on the ground, preparing to receive the extract’s baptism and transformation.

With his solid foundation, Su Ze was a hundred percent certain to succeed in absorbing this S-grade extract.

’I just don’t know if I’ll be able to choose my own skill this time.’
