I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 53: Earth Escape

Miguel stood up from his sitting position and went to the back of his makeshift tent.

He pressed his hands on the cave’s rock wall and closed his eyes before casting [Divine Sense] with more focus than usual. The wave of energy rippled with him at the center, allowing him to see everything around him clearly.

It penetrated the hard stone allowing him to see what was behind it.

It was a huge dark space, even bigger than the space they were currently in.

Miguel noticed this earlier when he casted the [Divine Sense] the first time.

Who would have expected that behind the cave they were in, there was actually a bigger cave behind only separated by a three-meter thick wall?

After probing with his [Divine Sense] for some time, Miguel noticed that there was a strange object at the center of the huge space. He could not tell what exactly it was but he knew that it was some kind of plant. And for a plant to exist in such a dark and closed environment, it could only mean one thing. This plant was surely a magic plant.

Magical plants were different from plant-type beasts. Plant-type beasts were creatures while magical plants were plants that managed to absorb the summoning energy in the air, allowing them to transform into treasures. It was said that when magical plants gained sentience, they could also fight or be contracted by summoners just like normal plant-type beasts.

Magical plants were considered as treasures by many. Depending on the type, anyone could consume it to strengthen themselves permanently. Just like the Condensed Water Ores, magical plants were also considered as a naturally born resource.

Miguel knocked on the wall and realized how hard it was. Even with his current strength, it should be impossible to break this thick rock in a short period of time.

Miguel thought for a moment and seemed to have thought of an idea. He looked at the others before returning to his tent when he realized that no one had noticed his actions. He silently returned to the tent, not wanting to tell anyone of his recent discovery.

Their dinner was not ready yet so he began to meditate once more. This time, not only to calm his mind but to create another skill to help him obtain the magical plant as silently as possible.

As he pondered, a certain technique suddenly entered his mind.

Earth Manipulation!

This was a special type of movement technique from his previous world. When a cultivator reaches the stage where they can manipulate spiritual qi freely, those attuned with earth-attribute can cultivate this technique and use it to manipulate the ground or earth beneath them during a battle.

However, Earth Manipulation was a very broad technique, just like Fire Manipulation. If Miguel decides to create and convert this into this world’s skill system, it would take him a lot of time. Hence, he planned to only create one aspect of it.

He will call this the Earth Escape Skill.

However, before he could do so, a person suddenly entered his retracted [Divine Sense]. Miguel opened his eyes and noticed that it was Erika.

"Dinner is ready," She said with a smile on her face.

Miguel nodded his head as he secretly heaved a sigh of relief.

A magical plant was very valuable. He was not willing to share his discovery to the others. It was his own discovery and no one should have a say about it other than him.

He was greedy, but so what.

For him, all that matters was his own improvement and no one else’s. A magical plant was too precious for him to share. And he doesn’t have a reason to.

A simple porridge made everyone full. The mercenary carriage drivers settled their shift as the others went to their respective tents to have a rest, including Miguel.

However, instead of resting, Miguel closed his eyes and began the process of creating the skill, Earth Escape.

Creating a skill was not easy. Even without a 1 day cool down, Miguel reckoned that he would still not be able to create a skill per day. After all, creating a lot of skill doesn’t necessarily mean he would be able to use all of them in a battle.

Battles would usually end in an instant unless the two parties fighting had equal strength and equal capabilities. However, such a fight was rare as no person can have the same exact skills, strength, thinking and capabilities as another.

Everyone was unique in their own way, hence a battle of any caliber would usually end in an instant. In such scenarios, if one has a lot of skills, they might not be able to use them all before the battle ends.

Miguel also experienced this same situation from his previous life. Due to his knowledge and the many techniques he possessed, he would sometimes not be able to use them during a battle.

Hence, this time, Miguel decided to just create a skill depending on the situation and their usefulness, to avoid overcrowding himself with a lot of skills.

Just like the previous process of creating a skill, Miguel began to outline the technique in his mind and slowly converted it to a skill suitable to this world.

Time passed and in the blink of an eye, three hours had already gone by before Miguel opened his eyes with a smile.

A new skill emerged from his mind. It was the Earth Escape Skill that he just created.

Descriptions/Effects: Allows the user to burrow, emerge and move underground in short distance. The harder the terrain, and the longer one stays underground, the more energy will be consumed. ]

With the birth of this skill, Miguel’s eyes immediately shifted towards the area where he found the magical plant.

He casted his [Divine Sense] with more intensity and after confirming that everyone was sleeping aside from the mercenaries on watch, he immediately casted the newly created skill as his body submerged to the ground without making a sound.
