I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 54: Magical Plant
A magical scene happened when Miguel used the [Earth Escape] skill.
Like water, his body submerged to the ground as though it was absorbed by a dry sponge.
Below, Miguel opened his eyes swam towards the location of the magical plant with the use of the [Earth Escape] skill.
After estimating the distance, he looked up and began swimming upwards. His body emerged right beside the magical plant a moment later. For a pretty dark area where he could not use Shadow Steps or any other blinking ability, the [Earth Escape] was a good alternative.
Due to darkness, Miguel could not see anything in this huge space containing the magical plant. He could not easily create a fire or light either due to the danger of explosion as this was an enclosed space. Who knew if there were any form of gas in this place and the moment he let out a spark, it might cause this place to explode in an instant.
However, for a person who has a [Divine Sense], this was nothing.
Energy rippled out of him in concave shape. Unlike before where he focused to penetrate and see through the hard rock, this time, Miguel focused to better see the magical plant in front of him as well as scan the surrounding area.
As his energy rippled, Miguel began to see the whole detail of the huge space that he was in.
In terms of diameter, he estimated that this space was at least twice as big as the previous one that they were in. With the magical plant as the center, the space was shaped as though an umbrella shielding the magical plant from the sun above.
It was as though this place existed, and was created for the sole purpose of containing the magical plant.
Miguel observed even more and guessed that this space might have formed naturally after countless years while the magical plant was developing.
On the other hand, Miguel did not know what kind of magical plant this was. He was still not in the know of a lot of things in this world, including the name of some materials and plants. He tried searching for such a manual in Red Cliff City as well but the city had no such thing. They only said that he might be able to find such a precious book in Blazing City, the capital of Flare Province.
The magical plant was not that big. It was only a meter tall and only had five leaves in total. The leaves were huge and looked heavy for such a small plant. Strangely enough, the small stem still managed to hold on.
Miguel circled around the magical plant, not knowing what to do. He thought that it would be easy moving and taking out this plant, however, he knew that he could not do that carelessly.
Each plant, especially magical plants has their own proper way of being harvested. He did not even know the name of this magical plant, much less how to properly harvest it. Heck, it was still even a question if it had reached a maturity already.
Miguel sensed for a few minutes and found out that this should be an Earth-attributed plant. As he did not know how to harvest it, he planned to leave it for the time being and just return for it once he acquired the knowledge on how to harvest magical plants in the future.
This place was pretty secretive anyway. There was a reason why it was not discovered in a place close to the public road after all.
With that being said, Miguel did not linger on the space any longer. His body burrowed deep into the ground as he emerged inside his tent a moment later.
Miguel opened his eyes and went out of his tent. His energy rippled as it automatically scanned his surroundings as he walked. It could allow him to see through anything but respecting the others privacy, Miguel did not carelessly scan his surroundings and only scanned the surface as he walked towards the cave entrance.
No particular thing caught his attention as he arrived in front of Randy and the other mercenaries tasked to watch for the night.
"Anything unusual?" He asked casually as he sat not far from them.
The others turned their heads to look at him. They heaved a sigh of relief after realizing it was just Miguel.
In the span of time that they were together, everyone has already cultivated a sense of reliance on Miguel even though they were much older than him. This was very normal behavior as in this world, the strong prey on the weak. The strong were respected while the weak were disdained no matter the age.
Miguel was obviously younger yet his capabilities have already shown that he was way much better compared to them. Coupled with the fact that he was a grimoire summoner, they knew that his future was limitless.
They shook their heads, indicating that everything was alright.
"See? Perhaps, the previous incidents were truly just a rare coincidence," Randy stated with a smile.
Miguel merely nodded as he stood up after asking some more questions.
"I’ll take a look around," he said.
The others nodded their heads in agreement.
Using the [Divine Sense], Miguel scanned the surroundings thoroughly. He did not miss a single spot this time, and searched through every nook and cranny outside of the cave’s mouth.
After a few minutes of searching in every angle and finding nothing, only then did Miguel heaved a sigh of relief. This just proves that this place was indeed a lot safer compared to the previous ones. At least, by this hour, they had already encountered the two demonic beasts during their previous stop.
He then returned to his tent after informing the others, preparing to take a proper rest this time.
When Miguel woke up the next time, he realized that it was already dawn. No beast attack happened during the night, making the night seem peaceful and calm, allowing each of them a proper rest, and relief. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Without any beast or demonic beast attack, they grew more confident of their conjectures that the previous incidents were all truly just pure coincidence.
"Let’s set off early today. As planned, we will be leaving the area of jurisdiction of Red Cliff City in three hours and will take another stop after five hours," Erika stated as they ate a hot breakfast together.
"The public road is well maintained and has a lot of people traveling everyday. Beasts would usually avoid such areas and even if there were any that got lost, mercenaries would usually handle them every time to maintain the road’s safety for everyone," Murphy added.
Murphy laughed and tried to dispel their worries, "No need to get nervous everyone, it seemed that the previous incidents were truly just our bad luck. Let’s hope that we don’t encounter such strange things today."
The peaceful journey resumed.
Miguel turned to look at the cave one more time before the Wind Horses pulled the carriage. A smile appeared on his face, as he looked forward to harvesting the magical plant in the future.
