Chapter 153: Chapter 152: Conditions

Two days later.

Knight Tamworth finally discovered that the person behind this assassination is Lone Falcon, the top-ranked individual on the Heavenly Domain list.

He went to the hospital and handed all the investigative materials to Oliver Gale, carrying an indescribable weight: 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Oliver, it’s not difficult to kill Lone Falcon, but you know very well that killing Lone Falcon means becoming enemies with the people of Heavenly Domain. Any misstep could lead to a full-scale retaliation, leaving us exposed while they remain hidden, which could easily lead to a disastrous end."

"Are you suggesting I should make a trip back to Heavenly Domain?"

"Yes, the people of Heavenly Domain are just doing a job for money. I need to know who exactly issued this order."

Oliver Gale paused for a moment. Although he didn’t particularly like meeting that man, he decided to return to Heavenly Domain for Durrell Landon.

...

At this moment.

Gavaria Island.

Thomas Grant sat under a massive sun umbrella, wearing nothing but a white shirt, unbuttoned and loosely draped over him. With black sunglasses, he exuded a bit of a playboy air, drawing a lot of attention.

Even though everyone’s attention was on him, he was completely unbothered, leisurely gazing at the beauties on the beach. If thirsty, someone would immediately offer him a drink.

Though many wanted to approach and chat, he was surrounded by men in matching uniforms who were clearly his bodyguards. Anyone attempting to get close was immediately thrown out, so people could only imagine but dared not breach the layers of black-clad protection.

Thomas Grant took a small sip of the juice served by his subordinates, furrowing his brows slightly; it was a bit too sweet, not to his preferred taste.

Seeing his apparent displeasure, the subordinate next to him became instantly tense. Fortunately, someone arrived just then, diverting Thomas Grant’s attention.

"Master, Young Master Windsor has returned to Heavenly Domain. He wants to see you."

Hearing this, Thomas Grant set down his cup, letting out a few chuckles from his throat: "Didn’t he say he never wanted to return to Heavenly Domain? Has the sun risen from the west today?"

The subordinate added: "When Young Master Windsor returned to Heavenly Domain, he looked very upset, seeming to come in a fury."

A fury?

Thomas Grant became more intrigued, "Go back to Heavenly Domain."

Heavenly Domain.

Oliver Gale was waiting in the guest hall. Though he seldom appeared, his name on the list commanded enough respect that the people of Heavenly Domain dared not show any neglect.

He waited idly for almost three hours, still not seeing Thomas Grant, and had begun to lose patience.

"When will he show up?"

As soon as Oliver Gale spoke, the servants shivered all over, becoming anxious.

They dared not speak casually about the affairs of the masters.

Saying something wrong could cost them their lives.

The sun’s rays tilted westward, nearing dusk; even the light indoors began to dim.

Oliver Gale propped his chin with one hand, just about to lose his patience when a pair of black leather shoes came into view. He paused, looking up the line of sight to find the delayed Thomas Grant.

He wore his customary smile, with an intriguing hint, speaking lightly:

"It’s rare indeed for you to return looking for me?"

Oliver Gale disinclined to beat around the bush, "I have only one matter; I want to know who hired Lone Falcon."

Thomas Grant snorted at this: "You surely know the rules of Heavenly Domain; we cannot divulge the names of those hiring."

As soon as he finished speaking, Oliver Gale pulled out a gun from his waist, pressing it against Thomas Grant’s forehead, extremely impatient: "My patience is limited."

The others gasped upon seeing Oliver Gale daring to point the gun at Thomas Grant, and without hesitation pointed their guns at Oliver Gale.

Uncle Finn, Thomas Grant’s most loyal subordinate, became overly nervous: "Young Master Windsor, don’t think you can act recklessly in Heavenly Domain just because the master favors you. If you truly kill the master, I guarantee you won’t leave Heavenly Domain safely."

Thomas Grant waved his hand slightly, signaling Uncle Finn to shut up, though he remained tense.

However, the person involved maintained a casual demeanor, seemingly unfazed by Oliver Gale’s gun threat, instead, jesting a bit looking at Oliver Gale:

"If it were you, you’d end it in one shot, wouldn’t you? Where would you choose?"

He pointed to his forehead, tracing down to his throat, continuing lower until resting on his heart.

"Where would you choose?"

But unexpectedly, Oliver Gale suddenly shifted the muzzle direction to aim at his own shoulder.

"I choose myself."

While saying this, Oliver Gale remained calm-faced, capable of delivering the most fatal blow even alone.

Witnessing this, the three-part sarcastic gaze of Thomas Grant slowly froze, and without much hesitation, he ordered Uncle Finn: "Go, bring the register."

Uncle Finn exclaimed, hastily speaking: "Master, the register is always confidential. If we open this door for Young Master Windsor, what if others wish to emulate it?"

Thomas Grant sternly replied: "Shut up, bring the register immediately." Adding here, his eyes appeared engulfing like a whirlpool: "In my absence from Heavenly Domain, you’ve been guarding the register. Are you unwilling to fetch it because you tampered with it?"

If pinned with such a charge, the consequences would be dire, frightening Uncle Finn into promptly fetching the register.

Cautiously handing it to Thomas Grant: "Master, here."

Thomas Grant didn’t glance at it, tossing it directly to Oliver Gale: "You have the register now; can you put down the gun?"

Oliver Gale tucked the gun back into his waist, then took the register.

The last assassination task in the register was to kill Quiana Sutton.

After reading it, he slowly closed the register, calmly speaking:

"From now on, any tasks concerning Quiana Sutton or Durrell Landon are forbidden for the people of Heavenly Domain."

Hearing this, Thomas Grant’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, chest inexplicably filled with a bit of anger:

"You’re ordering me?"

Oliver Gale paused: "No, I’m imploring you; if you agree, I can stay in Heavenly Domain for five more years."

At this statement, Thomas Grant’s expression didn’t improve in the slightest; instead, his already cold face grew colder:

"You’ve always disliked Heavenly Domain, yet now you’re willing to stay five more years. Is this for Quiana Sutton or for Durrell Landon?"

Oliver Gale glanced at Thomas Grant, seemingly with a hint of self-mockery:

"That’s not necessary to say to you. So, will you agree or not?"

Thomas Grant pinched his eyebrows, exhaling turbidly, seemingly dispersing all the accumulated frustration, and after a while, finally agreed:

"Fine, I agree."
