Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 76: Difference
"R-Rebels?" Ronald asked back in confusion and fear.
And seeing him display that fear gave the guards a bit of confidence, and they continued,
"Yes, only rebels have small numbers of people, and only rebels will be so bold as to want to attack the King." He shouted at the end of his sentence. He looked like he would kill for his king.
WHIRR
Then there was a loud silence. Even he who shouted started feeling embarrassed about the lack of reaction from even his people.
"THEN DIE!" Gar’al took the pleasure to end the silence and rushed at him, cocking his large fist coated in a read aura. He punched forward,
BANG
The man couldn’t react before his head exploded in a shower of blood.
"W-What, a-attack." Another evolver shouted, but that didn’t stop Gar’al.
He rushed to the second evolver and slammed his fist on his chest.
BANG
The man’s chest caved, and he was flung back like a kite. His back hit another evolver in the distance, and they fell together. He stomped the ground.
The ground shook, shaking off the balance of the evolver close to him. And before he could regain his balance,
WHOOSH
SLASH
The heads of three of them first flew off. Then the figure became visible. It was Robin, the assassin. It was still a bit weird seeing a pretty girl holding a dagger and swinging it around, so she started wearing a scarf around her neck and mouth.
PTCHUU...PTCHUUU
The pair of archers were shooting their arrows from a distance, and five people had already fallen. Only now did the evolvers protect their eyes. They had lost almost 10 men, and none of the rebels had died. They didn’t even look like they were doing their best, and that was only after 2 of them moved and 2 others backed them.
"Call the elites and the dukes."
That was the only way they thought they could win. They were low levels, barely passing level 10. So, they didn’t move and still surrounded them, thinking they could buy time.
"Surrender or die," Gar’al shouted for all to hear, but was met with silence. To them, Gar’al and the rest were strong, but were not strong enough to defeat their elites and dukes.
"WHO DARES?" A loud voice boomed from the area the evolvers were trying to protect. When the people protecting heard the voice, it was like they were hearing their savior.
"Ah, Duke Gram."
"Duke..."
"Ah, the elites."
The evolvers who had started to give up started looking with hope. The dukes were the second strongest in the camp, they were the only ones above all and below one. And he didn’t seem to be alone, the elites.
They were the third strongest in the camp. Victor and Victoria were among this group. They were the group that everybody wanted to be among. It was because the twins were in this group that they mentioned they were treated better than others. And they seemed to be 15 of them behind the duke.
Duke Gram was obviously a young man, as the king liked. His build was huge, and he held a massive hammer. As he reached the area, he looked at the corpses on the floor and at Gar’al.
"Who are you?" He narrowed his eyes as he looked at Gar’al and noticed they were at the same level. All the people in his level were dukes, and this person was clearly not a duke, so where could they have come from?
One of the elites then stepped forward, "Duke Gram, I recognize two people among their group."
"Huh? Who?" Duke was still confused about the situation, so he quickly urged him to explain.
"Victor and Victoria were the ones who used the barrier to block the low-level, and we sent a team to chase them, but neither of them returned. Now here they are." He bowed a little and stepped back as he was done.
"So, you brought people?" Duke Gram tilted his head as he looked at the group. "So, why are you here?"
"For the last time, surrender or die," Gar’al shouted again at the question.
Duke Gram frowned and looked at Gar’al again. ’From what I can see, he is the only one who can give me a problem. But there are three of us.’ He smiled and said back to Gar’al.
"You come here with only this level of people; you are asking for death." With that said, he released his mana and took a stance.
Gar’al too took a step forward to the duke. After using the hammer Jon gave him for a while, he realized he preferred his hands. The feeling of the bones crushing on his hands was a satisfying feeling that a hammer couldn’t give. So, he gave it to another person who was assigned to his scouting group.
Duke didn’t waste time and swung his hammer at Gar’al. The red aura that coated Gar’al then took a shape into a gauntlet, and he slammed at the hammer coming for him.
BOOOM
The two of them moved back two steps,
"Huh?"
"He matched a duke?"
"Ha, where did this monster come from?"
The evolvers who were looking up to the duke were shocked at the strength of their enemy’s leader.
Duke Gram then shouted at the elites, "Attack!"
Gar’al too didn’t waste time and shouted to the evolvers he came with. "Kill them."
And the two groups met.
As the elites met Cynthia’s group, Victor stepped forward and shouted at the elites, "Wait, you don’t have to fight. Just surrender, Killian would be punished for what he did. You don’t have to fight, you will lose."
"Ha, lose?" One of the elites scoffed at Victor.
"Even if we lose, there are still 2 more dukes, more elites, and even the King to fight. And your leader is only on par with one duke." Another elite spelled it out their flaw.
"Huh? Now you mention it, there is no hope for you in this." Another elite put his hand on his chin and stroked.
"Y-You don’t understand, you will still lose." Victoria stepped forward and tried to reason with them.
"Hey, healer. After this, I’m gonna need you to heal my balls." The elites started laughing at the words of one of them. They didn’t mind that the rebels were larger in number than they. They felt they would win whatsoever; if it wasn’t them, it would be others.
"How can we believe you?" As expected, not everyone was going to be conceited. She was beautiful, almost at the level of Cynthia. She was also very young, between 20-21, she had flowing white hair and blue eyes. She was clearly not a citizen.
"W-Wait, what are you saying?"
"You-?"
"L-Luna?"
The elites backed away from her, trying to understand her intentions.
"Ah, Luna," Victoria was surprised at the lady who was now looking at them.
One time, Victoria had the privilege of being with Killian the day he asked Luna to become a duke. And she actually refused it, ’Did she also not like what he was doing?’ She wondered in her thoughts.
"Well, I don’t have anything to prove to you about, but I can tell you that you’ve lost already." From what little Victor had seen in Jon’s camp. They would massacre the Killian and his ’Kingdom’.
"Look." Victor then pointed at the fight between Duke Gram and Gar’al. He didn’t know why he said it, but he just told them to look at their fight. ’I hope you actually win.’ He was really hoping Gar’al to win to prove a point.
Then they stopped and looked at their fight,
The fight had moved to the next level after releasing their mana. The clashing of fist and hammer was resounding throughout the area. It would be weird if everyone didn’t know a fight was going on now.
’He is really strong; I can’t get pushed back.’ Duke Gram thought as he gripped his trembling hammer in his hand and kept swinging it frantically.
...
In the highest room in the tallest building,
"King, there are rebels here fighting us."
Someone came kneeling to report. And as if he was trying to display his kingship, he acted as if he didn’t know again, "Who?"
"Rebels, Duke Gram is fighting their leader."
"How’s the fight going?" Maybe because he thought it might affect his kingdom, he tried to act like he cared.
"They are a match, king."
"Hmm, a match you say. But tell them to be on standby to help." Then he waved his hand to send the messenger away. He was acting as if the match was already over.
"Yes."
...
Cynthia would actually love to solve this peacefully, but some still had to die. That was why she and Alexa hadn’t reacted even till now when Victor was trying to give them a chance.
And when they all looked at Gar’al, that was when he shouted,
"Beast transformation." He then grew taller, covered in furs, and the red aura started coming out in waves.
"What?" Duke Gram was pushed back by the mere release of the aura from the transformation. He had thought Gar’al was already using his skill, but it turns out he wasn’t.
As for him, his skill ’weight’ reduced the weight as he swung and increased it on impact. He was shocked at the situation, meaning Gar’al had been withstanding his attacks with just pure strength.
And Gar’al, who didn’t fancy talking, pushed his body off the ground. Cracks appeared on the ground, and he took off and reached Duke Gram, his huge, blaring hand already at his face.
BOOOM
