Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 81: Faction name: Blacksmithing
This was the first lull Jon had taken since the meeting started.
’Something?’ He was in his thoughts, he wanted a name when others hear, they would be like ’Nice’ or ’Why didn’t I think of it’. He didn’t want something they would have to change every time.
Suddenly, Gar’al suddenly spoke up, "Why don’t we go with ’Strength Palace.’"
"Urgh..." Jon groaned at the suggestion that was thrown out, he was about to throw up a suggestion, however it became fleeting due to Gar’al’s suggestion.
Looking at him, he was clenching his fist as if he really meant it. Well, Gar’al wasn’t one to joke.
But that didn’t change the fact, the people sitting close to him moved away slightly. It seemed excluding his strength, his naming sense was horrible.
Next came Ronald, he raised his hand and said, "W-W-hat about ’True evolver faction’" And immediately he said it, he quickly dodged to the side,
"Argh..." he reacted as he saw the hurling object hit the floor, It was a banana. "W-What?" he was shocked at the reaction he got.
Then, he looked around the room to see people giving him a dead look. He just shivered and sat down.
"What of ’Wind slaying faction." It was obvious who say something like that.
"Hey, not everything is about you, okay?" Jenny giggled at Cynthia’s suggestion.
And before they knew it, the once quiet conference became rowdy. And still, Jon couldn’t come up with one.
"Then, how about ’Moon faction’" Cynthia giggled as she brought up the idea.
Jon immediately shot a glare at her, ’Is she doing it on purpose?’ he didn’t even know why she was doing it. ’Besides, what’s with their bad naming sense too’ He was on the verge of throwing up.
Then an unexpected person spoke up, "How about ’Sky apex’?"
Heads turned to the voice that made the suggestion. Surprisingly, it was Luna. It was quite embarrassing that she too joined in the naming, but if she was going to join them, it couldn’t be a name they later regret?
"Not bad, but I was thinking ’Ascension faction’?" Jon suggested and put his hand on his chin as if not satisfied. However, he didn’t see the gazes he was receiving. It was one of astonishment.
They had immediately scratched out Luna’s idea and accepted this as the new best. Though it had not been completely accepted that would be it.
"Well, let’s leave that for now. Last but not the least." Jon raised his hand and weapons began pouring out his watch.
"This..."
"Woww..."
"How..."
The leaders in the conference were shocked at the number of weapons they were seeing. Since the beginning of the fall they hadn’t seen this much weapons. Swords, Spears, daggers, shields, gauntlets, hammers and all sort of weapons were displayed.
"Now, this is for you." Picking the scythe, Jon gave it to Cynthia.
"T-Thanks." After a lull she collected the weapon. ’I really am collecting something from a man.’ With a chuckle she felt the weapon and kept staring at it.
"Jenny here, a sword."
"Thank you."
Like that, he gave out all the weapons he had made to each and everyone in the conference.
Afterwards, he called the meeting to a close.
With that said, everyone left the room except Jon and the four girls. Immediately they left, they shot Jon a questioning look as if saying,
’Explain what you have been doing’
This time he had left them in-charge while he went to do whatever he wanted, so he couldn’t ignore them. With a deep sigh, he spoke, "Alright, so it went like this. On the first day,"
Day 1
Getting to the blacksmith, he met the old blacksmith who been waiting for him. And, with the materials Jon brought, there was more than enough for mistakes and throwaways until they got it right.
By now, Jon had finished the book he got on ’Blacksmithing’ by Mervil and the introduction he found in his pocket watch.
So the first thing he understood in all of it was that the ’Mind world’ already cancelled the use of paper and pen to sketch. And it was a way for the blacksmith to always have that sketch in their mind, as if they were looking at it on paper.
It was actually one for more of convenience than the proper way, so many blacksmiths who were uneducated only cared about knowing how to wield the hammer and use the ’Mind world’.
Truth be told, it was a method made specifically for those uneducated, however it turned out to be the better and more acceptable method.
The book explained, one had to first form the general idea they would like to create. And with their experience of various effects of metals and experience, they can remove and add the appropriate proportions of materials needed.
The only disadvantage in all of it was that, it was only limited to only a blacksmith, meaning a blacksmith couldn’t develop the ’Mind world’ for others. The developed consisted of how much the blacksmith knew, their experience and even the blacksmith’s skill level.
So with all that said and done, they got to work. However, he still had to help the Old blacksmith unlock his ’Mind world’, and surprisingly and shockingly, he had already formed one.
It wasn’t like how Jon had formed his. Then he remembered how the old blacksmith had jumped through the levels. ’It must’ve been at that time.’
However, he couldn’t help but ask himself again. ’Which method was better?’
It was a right argument, because by doing it in the blacksmiths way, he had everything done for him.
But, he had to absorb their remains and naturally formed it.
’So does Laura have one of this too?’ He remembered that Laura also jumped through levels but wasn’t as exaggerated as the blacksmiths own.
Putting that aside, he focused on the current issue. Now, the situation was like a clean slate for the blacksmith too. All he knew how to do was smith the old way, he didn’t know anything about the new one. Both the use of ’Mind world’ and the metals, so on the first day Jon gave the books to Mason, which turned out to be the blacksmiths name.
So, in general, the first day was about getting familiar with the new ways.
Day 2
Now they were familiar with the new method, it was time to see how they fared with it.
The normal blacksmithing process was heating the metal and shaping it. And maybe because of a side effect of Old Mason’s enlightenment, the fire was more than enough to heat the unranked scales.
Unfortunately, all the hammers they wanted to use to shape the heated scales also melted. And because of that, Jon had to do something he didn’t want to, use black rod as a hammer.
It was a tough decision, because if they wanted to use an hammer, they had to use something, so the first thing they decided to make was hammer.
The first thing was to put the scale into the fire.
SHAAAAA
After about five minutes of the scale been in the fire, Mason pulled it out and gave Jon to hammer it.
"Hit it there." He pointed to a spot on the hot scale and Jon hit it.
CLANG...CLANG...CLANG
"Yes, Yes, like that." Mason told him to continue and pulled out another metal from the fire and layered it on the metal Jon was hitting.
And like that, Mason kept layering the scales on top each other until it was as thick as a brick, however true to his inexperience, the brick had an irregular shape.
"Hmm...don’t worry, we don’t need it to be fancy." Mason encouraged him saying the shape didn’t really matter since it was going to be used as a hammer.
And without wasting time, he dipped his irregular work in a drum of water.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHH
With the intense steam that covered the already hot and stuff room, it became a place where a normal person could actually lose their lives in.
And some minutes later, he raised his ’hammer’ from the water.
"The hell!" his face consorted as he saw his work. ’I thought it would at least improve in looks.’ But, it seemed Mason had already predict the outcome when he had said they didn’t need it to be pretty.
’Again.’ he wanted to do it again, so leaving the ’hammer’ with Mason. He went to stuff the scales in the fire and started hitting it.
CLANG...CLANG
And for the second day, he kept hitting with his hammer until he felt like his hand was going to pull off.
Day 3
After his hammering till his hands felt like falling off, he finally decided to take a break.
But, the break wasn’t exactly it, he wanted to create his first weapon image in his ’Mind ’world’. And, the first thing he wanted to try forming was a sword. It wasn’t because of anything special other than, it was the easiest thing to make among the other weapons and it was the first thing anyone thought of when they heard the word ’blacksmith’.
Ironically, it was even easier to make than a dagger.
So in his ’Mind World’, he closed his eyes and imagined a plain black sword-similar to when his black rod morphed.
Opening his eyes again, and with a WHOOSH,
The sword he thought of appeared.
"Ohh!" he looked at the sword in surprise, it was strikingly similar to his plain sword. He even tried to hold it, except he couldn’t. He then tried using his will to move it, and it moved around as freely as he wanted.
’And, I can feel it.’ It was strange, he wasn’t touching it but he could feel the sword. However, it was currently limited to how sharp the tip was and how it would feel in his hands.
But that was enough for the current him. ’This was really the best method.’ He didn’t know who thought of the method but, it was really genius.
Looking again at the sword, he wanted more style to it, so closing his eyes he willed it.
Opening his eyes, the sword now had a blue hilt, while the rest of the body was black.
Smirking at his progress, he decided to form other weapons he thought of. From guns to bows, hammers to even tankers, he formed different images in his head until he was lost in the feeling.
So, when he finally snapped of it and returned his mind to the room. The first thing he saw was a white puppy with golden horns staring at him.
