Chapter 91: Camp crisis (IV)

"Run..." π˜§π˜³π˜¦β„―π“Œπ˜¦π’·π˜―π‘œπ‘£π˜¦π“.π’Έπ˜°π“‚

"W-What the hell..."

"Just run..."

With the sound of the explosion, the regiments increased their running pace. They knew they couldn’t get caught up with the explosions. It didn’t matter if they were evolvers or even Jon, they would all die.

After about ten minutes of running, they had reached a reasonable distance and from the sound of it. The explosion had finished. Not wanting to rush things, they waited another 10 minutes before they went back towards the area they ran from.

Thankfully, there weren’t any survivors leaving in the vicinity, so their hearts weren’t constrained.

Upon reaching the place they were before; it was like they were looking at a foreign land.

A portion of land that seemed like 500 meters became charred and black in color. It caved in so bad, it now looked like a pit. However, that wasn’t all, the area and cloud began turning darker little by little.

"W-What the-"

"For the love of-"

"Hahahaha..."

Some people fell on the ground, so cried for help from anywhere they could get it, while some laughed in madness. How were they supposed to handle this, the leader wasn’t even here and there wasn’t even any legion leader with them.

Luna and Tim frowned at the black pit they were seeing. They were the leaders, and as leaders they weren’t allowed to despair like the remaining evolvers, but this was too much.

Something definitely happened and something was definitely coming out from the black pit. Even if there weren’t any signs now, it would come out one way or the other.

’The rest must have heard the explosions, so we can only do what we can before they arrive.’ Luna immediately assessed the situation and walked up to Tim.

"We should wait to see what comes out and hold out somehow until the legion leaders come." She told him,

"..." After thinking about it for a while, he nodded in agreement.

"Huu..." Taking a deep breath, he collected himself and said to the evolvers behind him.

"Soldiers, get up." He spoke without facing them. "Our leader is probably facing something worse. And like he said, we will get control of our world from the monsters, so get up."

"Ahh..."

As if the evolvers just remembered, they stopped trembling and started helping themselves up.

"We are sorry, regiment leader." Some who really understood and were present when Jon said it apologized.

"We will fight."

Before they knew it, everyone began chanting loudly.

’Not bad,’ Luna nodded lightly as she saw the new change in the attitude of the evolvers.

However, it was getting strange to her, why was it that when they quoted Jon, they suddenly had a change of attitude. And the only answer anyone would give her was, ’Watch him fight first and you will know.’ But she didn’t know that now.

Now she was focused on the pit that was now fully covered in the dark cloud that had been forming.

"We should go in." Tim faced Luna and said confidently.

Nodding at his words, she added, "Team 12, Wait behind to report when the legion leaders come."

"Yes."

And they all began moving to the darkness filled pit.

’Not bad, not bad at all.’ Cathy had thought Tim was just shy and indecisive, however, he was even showing a stronger side to him than her.

...

Upon getting to the entrance of the dark entrance, the evolver gulped. It was impossible for them to have just gotten over it in a moment. However, Tim showing his words through actions didn’t hesitate and entered, followed by Luna and the battalion commanders.

Only then did the remaining evolvers find the courage to enter.

Entering the darkness, they were met with more darkness. However, that wasn’t a problem for them. With a few mage classes, they lighten up the place with their skills.

WHIIR

Silence...

Tim had already nocked an arrow, waiting for an enemy to approach. Luna too had formed weapons from ice and was waiting.

Then,

Krrr

TWANG...

Immediately Tim heard the sound he shot the arrow. He didn’t even try to see the enemy, it was already an enemy, was what he thought.

So, with no other sign, they had no idea of what was approaching. However, that didn’t matter, because the green lights began flashing all over the darkness. Tim was about to shoot however the green kept flickering.

So, he decided to wait and see what it was. And it was a skeleton.

No, rather they were all skeletons.

"Them?" Tim frowned as if he remembered something,

"Have you fought it before?" Luna asked

"Yes, before we left the university, they were the last monsters we had to fight."

Luna nodded at his words, ’So he should have an idea on how to fight them.’

"Basically, we have to kill the boss as fast as possible." Tim said out, giving the evolvers courage.

"However, with the way they formed, it might be more dangerous, be careful." Luna added.

"Yes, the way it formed was certainly strange, but for now," He fired another arrow and took out dozens of skeletons and finished, "Attack"

Seeing the way the skeletons died, it gave them hope. They were just bones.

"Ack, Diee." As a person rushed forward to kill, the rest followed.

"You scared me for no reason."

Releasing their all their previous pent-up frustration and rage, they cut through the skeletons with ease. It was so easy, that they were wondering why they were initially scared.

After all, the skeletons they were currently fighting were an average of level 5. At a point the regiment, battalion and platoon leaders stopped fighting and just followed the rest as they cleared the skeletons and moved forward.

"Hey, hey see my ’Stone-crushing strike’" An evolver used his earth element in the form of a hammer to strike down at a skeleton while laughing.

"No, my ’Fire-pierce’ is cooler" And this one applied little flame to his ’Brown obsine’ spear and pierced forward.

"No..."

Like that, the evolvers were competing for who had a cooler technique name.

Normally, Tim and Luna would have said they were to fight with seriousness. However, what other situation would they have to let go of their frustrations and worries they had since the beginning of the day.

As they kept going deeper, the average strength of the monsters kept increasing. However, the evolvers were still able to handle it and fight without worry. However, all fun had to come to an end at a point. As they started passing the average of level 15, they started to struggle.

The skeletons started to look more geared and had fiercer green flames in their eyes.

The evolver who had shouted, Stone-crushing strike tried to crush a skeleton, however the power contained in the skeleton made his hand rattle in pain.

"Ughh..." But he still raised his hammer and kept hitting until the skeleton fell.

Now, the difference on skill level and how much they understood their skills was very glaring.

Nevertheless, they had to keep going. If they wanted to reach the boss room fast enough, they had to keep moving.

"If you can’t keep up, fall back." Tim said to the evolvers. After explaining the method they had used previously with Luna, she also agreed to it.

As the evolvers couldn’t keep up, they would fall back. It was a good strategy considering the stronger fighters would be able to concentrate on their fight and not helping.

With an immediate effect, the order has been carried. And since it was an order that was helping them, the evolvers weren’t reluctant to it. And because of the low numbers, the high-ranking leaders who hadn’t joined, began to assist from the back.

BANG...BANG...BANG...BOOM

And before they knew it, all the skeletons in the vicinity were cleared. It wasn’t something possible with the large numbers they had previously, but when stronger evolvers with lesser stepped up, they died faster.

Step...Step...Step

From the distance of the darkness, steps could be heard approaching.

"Prepare." Tim shouted and nocked another arrow.

The steps they were hearing weren’t just from one skeleton, no, it was from tens of them moving together. Making their footsteps sound like one person.

And their dark green eyes came into view. Then their bodies followed.

These skeletons stood arranged like a composed army. Their weapons were clearly of better quality than the previous ones. And for these skeletons, black flames covered parts of their bodies.

There were no skeletons leading them, it seemed they were just leading themselves and they stopped few meters away from the evolvers.

’These ones are within level 20- 25’ Luna narrowed her eyes, looking at the skeletons. The higher-level skeletons were placed at the front of the skeleton army, with the weaker ones behind.

Then she turned to her back, and after looking at her subordinates, she knew they could win.

And as if Tim had also made that deduction, he shot the arrow he had nocked,

TWANG

BOOOM

Immediately the arrow hit the closest skeleton, he activated the destructive effect of his skill.

Consuming four high ranked skeletons at the front and shouted, "Attack"

And so the battle against the skeletons began.
