Chapter 93: Camp crisis (VI)

There was something Luna didn’t say, so as not to make her subordinates worried. It was that she hadn’t been able to recover her mana all this time.

The only sort of help she was getting now was from the remains of the skeleton she just killed. And a bit of her mana was being replenished as she got stronger.

So, upon reaching Tim, she took her breath and spoke to Tim. "Focus on the second archer." And forming two ice swords in both hands, she ran in again.

"Everyone attacks..." Tim shouted and begun shooting again. Following his order, Cathy also began to shoot. And she was particularly aiming the second archer. So, the moment the both of them began shooting, it practically became an archery competition between the two.

However, it was obvious who was on the losing side.

The skeleton was a bit more skilled and had a higher level than Cathy, however she wasn’t going to back down. She hadn’t told anyone yet, but she trained in archery even before the fall. And when the world fell, it took it to another level.

Apart from Jon and the girls, she was among the few who studied mana on its own. When she used mana with her bow and arrow, she felt like she could reach a greater level in the future.

And that was the thing about her, all this while she had just been using pure mana to fight. And with that, she could decimate normal unranked monsters with just mana.

Jon had said this before, everyone had their cheat skill, it was either they hadn’t found it or they already had it. And as for Cathy’s case, she already had it.

And it was in her main skill, ’Mind eye’. Basically, she could predict the opponent’s next movement, detect its weak spot and the mind eye was a power on its own.

And immediately she activated it, her body glowed quite a red hue, from her eye to the arrow tip.

’And shoot,’

TWANG

Immediately, the skeleton that had been pushing her and her arrows back, lost its shooting arm.

The skeleton quickly raised its bow in order to block. However, there was no place it could run, in front of the ’Mind’s eye’.

TWANG

With another shot, its head shattered.

"Whew..." She took a deep breath as she deactivated her mind’s eye. Then she raised her arm to her head. This was the main reason she didn’t use it regularly. It really hurt her eye every time she used it.

"Wow...so you were a lot more skilled." Tim’s eyes practically sparkled at her display.

"Y-You saw me?" Cathy immediately became flustered at his praise. She didn’t know he was watching her.

"A-Am I dreaming, did you seriously just blush." Tim now used the opportunity to tease her, while still shooting non-stop.

"H-Hey, it isn’t like-" However, her words got cut as she suddenly lost herself for a moment.

"A-Are you kidding me right now?" Tim was shocked, he knew the sensation she suddenly lost herself into.

And that was the main reason she had even decided to use it, even though it would hurt her. And it displayed in front of her before her vision faded.

[YOU ARE EVOLVING TO ’FIRST REALM’]

...

As for Luna, she immediately rushed in with her two swords and began swinging it at the skeletons.

This time, they didn’t let her do whatever she had done previously, so they rushed in and engaged in a close combat with two of them.

CLANG...CLANG

Her attention wasn’t just on the skeletons she was fighting. She also had to watch out for the skeletons Tim was keeping at bay with his destructive arrow and also the second archer.

And because of that, she began sustaining cuts from the skeletons. She was in a defensive position, but she couldn’t stop to think so much except to keep swinging.

Until suddenly, the archer she was focused on suddenly got crushed, ’Did help come.’

However, she couldn’t look back and from not hearing any new voice for a while, she knew help hadn’t come.

’Then, it must be Cathy.’ She knew that after her and Tim, she was the strongest. So, it was the only possible answer to how the skeleton died.

And now, she had a little breathing space. Using the combined attack of the skeletons, she retreated backwards to adjust herself.

Looking at herself, she had cuts all over her body. However, she couldn’t do anything about it. Ignoring it, she looked ahead.

’Now let’s see.’ Without hesitation, she ran towards the two skeletons. And as if they had mastered her attack pattern, they were already positioning themselves.

And it was when she was just centimeters away from them, she disappeared.

It was her second skill ’Disoriented path’. It involved making people focus on her and she disorients their senses. And immediately, she activated her third skill, ’Speed boost’.

It was simple but it multiplied her speed by 20% for 10 seconds. It was exactly this method she used to get to the first skeleton.

As she got behind the skeletons, she released concentrated ice on her sword and slashed at their heads.

THUD...THUD

"Haa...haa..." while reveling in the feeling of the remains and catching her breath, another skeleton was already upon her.

Sluggishly, she raised her swords to fight, however.

BANG...

With only one shot, the skeleton’s head got crushed and it fell. Using the time, to retreat, she looked back and saw Cathy lowering her bow and nodding at her.

’So, it really was Cathy,’ And from what she was sensing, she too had crossed to the first realm.

’However,’ looking at the skeletons again, Tim’s destructive power had certainly reduced a lot. To the point, they were casually dodging his arrows now.

Tim’s finger was bleeding, Luna was running out of mana more than it was recovering,

and Cathy was probably also out. The evolvers at the threshold she thought were going to be of help weren’t even of significant help.

Tim’s attacks alone were dwarfing all their attacks alone. And the skeletons waited, as if saying ’Is that all you have.’

The situation was getting too dire.

It was then,

Step...Step...Step

Rushing footsteps were now coming in their directions and entering through the familiar route, help finally arrived.

As far as Luna knew, she had never been happier to see her superiors in these moments.

With Jenny and Cynthia leading them, other evolvers entered with them.

Looking at the situation, Jenny and Cynthia sighed in relief.

They were happy no one had died among the evolvers present. And even though they had seen some dead bodies before coming here, it was inevitable.

For the first time since the crisis in the camp started, Cynthia smiled, "That was one hell of a sculpt. Make me one, okay?" She praised Luna she approached.

"Ahh..." Luna just remembered, she didn’t break the skeleton she froze.

"Ah, looks like you did it again." Looking at the other ice form in the distance, Cynthia nodded.

"You’ve endured well, rest now." Jenny was genuinely happy for them. And as if they had been waiting for that, Tim was the first to slump to the ground. He overextended himself the most after all.

"Now, let’s end this crisis once and for all."

"Why do you keep trying to say cool stuffs," Jenny tilted her head as if she couldn’t understand.

"Hey, you..." leaving her words to trail off, she ran and began attacking.

Reaching the skeletons, she immediately jumped and said,

"Wind repulsion" And a powerful gust of wind exploded around her, blowing the skeletons off the ground.

And without waiting, she approached and with her scythe,

SLASH...SLASH

Two skeleton heads went in the air with that.

’W-What is this...’ Luna couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She had expended a lot of mana to kill two of them, however she seemed to be doing it effortlessly.

And there was Jenny, coating her sword in flames, released her bronze chains and activated ’Dash’ and immediately appeared in front of one. Using her swordsmanship, its body dissected, and she continued.

Then there was Robin, flickering all over two skeletons and chipping them away. And finally, Norman, using his Cloud sky sword to split the skeletons in two.

And under about three minutes, all the skeletons were defeated. Except the last one,

"W-We almost died to those..."

"Haa...they are called leaders for a reason."

"M-Monsters."

It seemed the evolvers were of the same mind. However, Luna couldn’t just accept that, she felt it was more than just with them being leaders.

In the first place, all of them had the same starting line, so there was nothing like her or started before her. And even if she didn’t start immediately, it didn’t really matter.

’I should ask for that as my reward.’ Luna began thinking maybe there was actually a way and was just restricted to the leaders.

RUUMMMMM

Shaking her of her thoughts was the last skeleton seated. The dome began to shake, and its eyes opened.
