Chapter 95: Camp crisis (last)

And before the explosion settled, Cynthia threw two more tornadoes,

BOOOOOOOOOM

BOOOOOOOOOOM

The skeleton was thrown of the ground like a broken kite, however as impossible as it seemed as that moment. It turned its body in the air and made a hero type landing on the ground.

BANG...

It then stood up as if nothing had happened and started twisting its body. It was as if it didn’t feel pain.

However, Cynthia didn’t believe that, she rushed forward again, this time engaging in her own death dance with the skeleton.

The round two was fierce wind and darkness pushing against each other. Cynthia slashed about with her scythe and for attacks she couldn’t totally block, she used telekinesis to shift the attacks angle.

And the situation was too tense for her to see her situation. ’Left, right, left again.’ Her second skill, ’Self-tracking’ helped her trace and follow the attacks and she blocked over and over again. However, it came to a matter of strength and began to be pushed back, cuts also appearing all over her body.

’It seems this isn’t enough too.’ She gritted her teeth as she kept trying everything she knew, and though she gave some good hits, she was running out of mana quickly.

"Cynthia..." Jenny shouted and Cynthia understood. The call was one of retreat. And out of frustration, Cynthia threw four more tornadoes and retreated.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM

It was the largest explosion since the fight and the skeleton was completely enveloped. Even the places it could retreat too were engulfed in explosions.

And truly this time, it couldn’t avoid taking damage. Looking at the skeleton coming out of the remains of the explosion, though it still looked fine, it had lost its left arm.

And unfortunately, it wasn’t the swords hand. It seemed the rule of getting weaker as it lost its items meant a lot to it.

Now that it had lost an arm Cynthia was able to calm down a bit, and view the situation.

"Cynthia, like Ronald said, shouldn’t we try to take its head first." Jenny said.

All the time she had been recovering her mana, she had been thinking of a way to beat it, however Ronald’s words kept ringing in her head.

"Hmm...so what do we do," Cynthia thought about it and asked.

"Well, we aren’t the only first realm evolvers here right." Jenny smiled lightly as she pointed at the evolvers who waited along.

Looking at them again, their faces didn’t show any form of worry. No, it was one of awe. Tim, Cathy, Norman and even Luna, they were among the ones who waited behind in case they would be of any help.

And after watching Jenny and Cynthia fight the skeleton, they knew even evolvers of the same realms have levels to themselves. They hadn’t seen Jon fight maybe at full power, and this was the closest to the power they had always envisioned.

’I need to know how they did it.’ Luna found herself wanting to compete with them in that same level.

"Hey, we kind of need help here." Jenny snapped them out of their dazes.

"Oh..."

"Y-Yeah, we..."

After snapping out of it, they got closer. Upon reaching, Jenny said, "We need to take that head," She pointed at the skeleton that seemed to have also taken a break, because it didn’t move too.

"So we need to stop its movement for a while,"

"Are you ready," Cynthia grinned at them,

"Ready...Go" Immediately she said it, she and Jenny ran to the skeletons again. They didn’t even give the evolvers time to process what had just happened.

"Huh, what..."

"We just need to stop it."

"O-Okay"

After getting themselves together, they prepared their attacks.

This time, Jenny didn’t want to waste mana in raining down attacks, so she only used her sword coated in flames.

With only an arm, the skeletons center of balance became messed up. So as Jenny and Cynthia attacked the same arm, this time they deflected the sword.

CLANG...

As the skeleton was taking a step back, a certain reddish arrow passed through Jenny and Cynthia and struck its eye socket. And,

CRACK...

The sound of the head cracking was like progress. The skeleton immediately removed the arrow from its socket and deflected another sword from the girls,

"Destructive arrows"

Immediately the girls heard this, they retreated. And the arrows rained down on the skeleton.

BANG...BANG...BANG

Using its sword like a shield, it spun it around him with an arm and blocked all the arrows, however it still got pushed back. Then suddenly,

"Blizzard"

Immediately, the right side of its body got frozen. The arm holding the sword and its legs, however,

CRACK

It was actually on the verge of using brute force to break out. Unfortunately for it, Jenny and Cynthia weren’t going to let that happen.

SLASH...SLASH

With precise and smooth movements, the head and the cracking arm got cut off.

"No notifications yet, keep attacking." Jenny shouted.

And immediately, the dome began flashing with explosions and loud bangs. And as if the system wanted to play with their senses, it still didn’t arrive after five minutes of attacking.

Then, they all stopped for a moment to see the result of their continuous attacks. It was when the explosions was about to clear up,

[YOU HAVE OBTAINED LEVEL 45 ’DUHULLAN’ REMAINS]

Though there were more notifications after that, this was the only one they focused on. Feeling the remains entering their bodies, obviously Jenny and Cynthia got the largest, it was refreshing. And this especially happened when it was a higher level remains that was absorbed. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"Haa..." Jenny finally slumped to the ground. She was already exhausted beyond what she knew.

"That was intense..." Cynthia wiped her sweat and blood with mana and was moving towards the skeleton. She didn’t need to worry about the injuries as she was already healing with her skill-from the aspite tree.

After reaching there, "Oh..." she bent and picked up two items she saw and turned around to look at Jenny.

"T-The sword..." Jenny was shocked at the sight of the sword the skeleton used, it was as if she hadn’t seen the orb she was holding.

"Yeah, I think it was because we didn’t destroy it," Cynthia nodded as if she already understood her choice.

WHOOOOOSH

Looking up, the dome was dispersing in the wind and they were seeing the sky again.

"Ahh..." Luna never thought she would be so happy to be alive, she had already thought she would die today. But it seemed that day wasn’t today, and she didn’t think she wanted to die again. As the leader of the rebels under killian, she had obviously thought of her death. And she knew, it she did, it wouldn’t have been a pretty one. But here and now, she was grateful for the life she had.

Unfortunately, even though she could see the sky, it seemed farther than usual. They had probably sunk deeper with all the explosions, and the burnt area had even expanded. And from the edges of the hole, evolvers could be seen looking deep for any movements.

If previously it was about 500 meters, now 1 km was now destroyed land. But, they couldn’t do anything about that, they had survived for no and that was enough.

Looking around again, there was someone who didn’t show up till the end, so she couldn’t help but ask,

"Is it possible the leader is..." She didn’t continue her words. She hadn’t seen him and didn’t know him much, but she knew he was a good leader. And, she didn’t know of his strength yet.

"Haa, Jon..." Cynthia sighed and looked up at the sky. ’I hope you’re alright.’

"Don’t worry, just know there’s a reason he is the leader." Jenny assured them, however she too couldn’t help but wonder what he was facing.

"We have work to do everybody." With that orders upon orders were being dispatched.

Hours away from the camp,

Jon was watching the situation for a while when he finally concluded, this wasn’t normal.

Even if the system did create zombies, this was too much. Not even counting the fact that all of them were at the first realm, and their realm wasn’t stable.

’There is definitely something here.’ So with that conclusion, he activated his ’Moon gaze’ and scanned around.

And true to his gaze, it told him, there was something there. However, it seemed he really saw more with the gaze, because immediately he saw the situation he faced a certain direction and asked,

"Who are you?"
