Chapter 763

"....."

Everybody stared with wide eyes at the battle ongoing before them.

The other warriors who had been battling—every single one of them—were now gathered here.

Gunlag stood in front of them all, watching with his mouth agape, unable to look away even for a second.

The other members of the Crimson Lotus Clan stood around in stunned silence.

Those who hadn’t taken part in the fight could only watch, frozen, as the clash unfolded before their eyes.

A little behind them was Grey, his mask still firmly on his face as he observed everything in stunned silence.

His gaze never wavered as he watched how Killian, Alba, Fenrir, and sometimes Brook were holding the beast down through sheer force and coordination.

Just moments ago, Fenrir had sent the beast tumbling backward, and now it could be seen slowly rising from the ground once more.

It shook its massive body several times, violently rattling itself as it shook off whatever dizziness or daze the slam had caused.

Its red eyes locked onto Fenrir, and with a loud, guttural snarl, hatred radiated from its gaze.

The next moment, the beast pounced forward at tremendous speed.

Within a heartbeat, it was directly before Fenrir. Its tongue lashed forward at blazing velocity, slicing through the air like a whip.

Alba darted in between them in a flash, her movements sharp and decisive.

Her sword slashed upward from below at full speed.

Seeing this, the beast instantly retracted its tongue and then, in one fluid motion, smashed its feet straight into Alba’s face, sending her skidding backward across the ground as saliva dribbled from her mouth.

Swooosh—!

Two arrows descended upon the beast from Lilly above, but with a casual swat of its tongue, it sent both arrows flying away.

A loud banging sound rang out as Fenrir bolted forward at the beast.

Its tongue shot forward again, but the vice clan leader leaped tremendously high into the air, narrowly dodging the attack.

From above, an enormous bolt of lightning crackled violently into existence and, within the blink of an eye, connected directly with the beast.

KA-BOOOM—!

An explosion tore through the battlefield as a twenty-metre-wide crater instantly formed.

Gusts of wind blasted outward in all directions with immense intensity, forcing everyone nearby to brace themselves.

Leaping a few metres away, Fenrir panted heavily as blood trickled down from the corner of his mouth.

Being an old mage, this battle was taking quite the toll on him—especially considering the fact that he had already battled Grey earlier and had burned through a significant amount of mana.

Still, he refused to falter.

From within the dust cloud, a sharp swooshing sound was heard.

"Crap."

The beast moved blisteringly fast and, in a single second, smashed its full weight straight into Fenrir.

"Ugh..."

Blood sprayed out in waves from the man’s mouth as his entire body was instantly lifted off the ground and sent hurtling backward like a ragdoll.

When the view finally cleared, it became evident that the attack from earlier hadn’t affected the beast in the slightest.

Most likely, it had blocked the brunt of the lightning strike with its hardened back.

Thud, Thud—!

The sound of Fenrir’s body skipping violently across the ground echoed through the area.

The beast slowly turned, glaring at Grey with its crimson eyes for a brief moment.

The mage was eerily calm for some reason as he stared back without flinching.

Behind the mask, his lips curled upward slightly as he pointed forward.

"... Behind you."

Spinning around too late, the beast was suddenly whacked in the face by a glowing red fist from Alba.

The blow smashed into it with the force of a bullet train, causing its entire body to rise into the air for a brief moment—only for Brook to leap after it.

Hovering just a few inches above the beast, the warrior spun several times with his shield held out, building momentum.

Then, with a final kick to the air, he launched himself downward at breakneck speed.

BANG—!

He shattered his tower shield straight into the beast’s face, driving it in hard and causing blood to spray violently from the creature’s mouth.

Its massive body was hurled out of the air at top speed.

Within a flash, it slammed into the ground, kicking up a thick blanket of dust as the earth trembled beneath the impact.

The ground shattered beneath its body.

The sound of something spinning was heard the next moment—almost like a helicopter blade—and within a split second, the dust surrounding the beast cleared.

Its tongue could be seen in the air, spinning rapidly and moving like a blur, slicing through the space around it.

Grey simply observed from the side, his eyes fixed on the tongue for a specific reason.

’That tongue... why is it so durable for a reason? It doesn’t seem to want to do anything aside from spinning and shooting forward like a snake. Come to think of it though, the many times it tried to attack, the tongue was always blocked or dodged.’

The moment the dust cleared completely, the tongue retracted as the beast scanned the area.

Its eyes landed on every single person surrounding it.

Alba, Killian, and Brook.

Then it glanced toward the other humans as well—the members of the Crimson Lotus Clan, Grey, Gunlag, and the remaining warriors standing farther back.

"Ack..." A strained sound escaped as Fenrir slowly rose out of the ground.

Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, but he didn’t seem to care as he staggered forward, one hand holding his side tightly while a deep frown etched itself onto his face.

"Why aren’t you doing something?" The question was directed at Grey.

The warrior mage merely shrugged.

"Seems like you guys are handling it perfectly on your own. No need for me to join."

Fenrir opened his mouth in shock.

He clearly wanted to retort, but no words came to mind as the three warriors surrounding the beast dashed toward it once again. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Swords slashed violently through the air, striking the beast from multiple angles.

Whenever the creature tried to retaliate, Brook would always move in between, his shield intercepting the attack with precise timing.

After the first devastating blast from his shield, he hadn’t been able to charge it with enough power to repeat the move again.

His breathing was heavier now, and the strain was evident.

Luckily, the shield itself was still holding up against the beast’s relentless attacks.

Loud bangs permeated the air as the trio moved in perfect rhythm, weaving around the beast like dancers in a deadly performance.

Yet, for some reason, they were still unable to deal any truly decisive damage.

But the beast wasn’t about to just stand around and take it either.

Leaping backward to dodge Alba’s slash that cut through the air, the beast suddenly vaulted upward, hovering slightly above the ground.

The next second, its massive mouth opened wide and then—

DUUU, DUUU, DUUU—!

The sound echoed like a shotgun firing repeatedly as greenish liquid burst from its mouth, spraying outward in violent arcs toward all the humans in the area at that moment.
