Chapter 778

"Let the first wave be brought out!" The announcer’s voice rang out loudly causing the crowd to roar loudly in excitement.

The moment the words left the announcer’s mouth, the ground began rumbling like an earthquake was about to erupt.

The students from the Noxarian faction all tensed up as they huddled close to one another with the Orange Tiger a little ahead of them.

Gauntlets wrapped tightly around his hands as he stared forward with a straight gaze on his face.

Slowly, a glowing white circle materialised ten metres away from the students.

And from it, loud growls permeated the air and soon enough, the first beast stepped out.

Coming in full view, the crowd could now see what the students were about to face up against.

It was a beast that stood on its two legs. It looked almost humanoid. But instead of feet like humans, it had two hooves.

It stood at 2.5 metres tall with its hands ending it deadly, long claws.

A pair of goat-like horns rested on its head like a crown.

Its fur was brown. Dark brown like wet soil.

Its mouth had rows and rows of deadly sharp teeth as it smirked slightly at the humans metres away from it.

In short, the beast looked like a mutated goat that underwent surgery to look like a nightmare.

A step.

The portal snapped shut behind the beast whose red eyes lay fixated on the humans with intensity.

An oppressive aura poured from the beast as it glared at the students who were a little bit shaken.

They were all stage four warriors with only the Orange tiger who went by the name of Zach being a stage five warrior.

A mid stage five warrior.

This was too much for a bunch of stage four warriors.

To deal with a single Divine ranked beast, you would need to be at the warrior stage seven.

Yet, they were confronted by one? This was really a death sentence at this point.

"Begin!" The announcer shouted. The moment he did, the beast wasted no time in pouncing forward.

"Prepare for battle!" Zach shouted sternly.

This snapped the others from their horror as they took a shaky stance.

"... Let’s show them what the Noxarian faction is made of!"

The moment he finished that statement, the beast appeared in front of him in the twinkle of an eye.

Claws lashed towards his face at immense speed.

The crowd gasped as everybody leaned forward in shock wondering if this was the end for Zach.

But they were wrong.

The moment the beast had darted forward, Zach already augmented his feet with Ki. The second the beast reached his position, he quickly leaped away with all his might narrowly avoiding the claws that streaked through the air and crashed into the ground with a loud boom.

It sliced through the earth like hot knife cutting through butter kicking up a storm of dust and debris in the air.

"All together!" Zach shouted like a commander of war.

Hearing his words, the five students stirred and they all dashed forward at a decently fast pace.

All at once, the five of them leaped into the air above the beast who was still in the middle of the dust it kicked up.

Punching the air with all their might, the second stage of Ki activated.

A dozen invisible ki fists burst out from their knuckles at break neck speed smashing through the dust in the air dispelling it away.

They rocketed towards the beast who stared at the humans in the air as if they were a bag of tasty chips.

With a speed too great for ordinary humans or warriors to follow, the beast darted away from the invisible attacks that now smashed into the ground with a loud bang causing a chasm to appear in an instant.

Landing on the ground, the students all twisted and turned looking for the beast but they were unable to keep up with its blistering movements.

They strained their eyes trying to catch a glimpse of the monster but to no avail until—

It appeared directly in front of one of the students with its claws slashing from below ready to cleave the student in two.

But before it could hit the stupefied student,

Clang—!

A sword appeared in its path blocking the slash but cracks immediately appeared on the sword as the student who blocked the strike was being pushed back.

"Come on Zach!" He groaned while still being pushed back.

That was when a loud bang echoed in the air drawing all eyes to the air to see Zach above the beast for a moment.

His hand cocked back like a gun and with all his might, he punched the air unleashing a blazing fist of Ki that tore downwards at break neck speed.

It was quite too fast catching the beast off guard.

BAM—!

The fist smashed into the beast with the force of a battering ram causing the ground beneath its body to shatter in an instant.

Its hooves trembled and lost balance as the beast stumbled into the ground. Its claws sliding off the sword of the other student and slicing into the ground.

Zach landed on the ground and immediately pushed forward again at full speed.

The other students too moved as the sword user appeared above the beast.

His sword raised high and swung down at the creature only for a loud crack to be heard and the hoove of the beast blitzed through the air smashing into the already cracked sword.

It instantly shattered allowing the hoove to crush into the student’s face causing blood to spray out in waves as his body was lifted up and instantly sent hurling into the distance.

Thud, Thud, Thud—!

The body lay unmoving for a few seconds before coming to a halt and remaining unmoving in the position.

This made everyone gasp in horror wondering if the student was actually dead or not.

But no one was able to linger on the matter for too long as the beast finally could be seen rising out of the ground with a menacing death stare fixed at Zach who regardless of the potential injury to his comrade, charged forward fearlessly.

It was now the more evident that this was not going to be an easy segment.

If the first wave was already this hard, then how much harder with the other waves be? And how will the students from the different academy manage?
