Chapter 779

The silence that followed was heavy.

Too heavy.

The crowd that had been roaring moments ago now watched with stiff expressions as the dust slowly settled around the arena.

Even Grey stiffened in his seat while watching the Noxarian faction academy struggle against the Divine ranked beast.

’Damn. I can easily handle a Divine ranked beast but how will these weaklings do so? What are the Umbrafell faction thinking? This is too much for younglings to handle.

Do they want to kill the kids?’

Everybody shared the same sentiments at this point.

This was just the first wave and the Noxarian academy are struggling badly.

But yet, one person didn’t care.

"Zach! What are you doing? Show me why you are the number one student in the academy now!" The voice resounded from the west booth in anger.

The moment the words came out, the beast bolted forward at tremendous speed catching Zach off guard as he had turned his head to stare at the west booth.

Claws streaked towards his face at full speed.

It was inches away from his face about to tear into him.

His heart pounded loudly at the approaching claws heading his way.

But when it was just one inch away from hitting him, three students bolted forward and barged their shoulders into the beast with all their might and ki.

This allowed the beast to stagger a few feet away with its claws nicking Zach’s face drawing blood.

He panted as he tried regaining his composure on seeing the beast stagger away.

Its hooves dragged on the ground creating trenches and kicking up dust.

The moment it steadied itself, the remaining students dashed forward with all their speed, ki flaring around their feet.

A metre away from the beast, they all punched the air unleashing ki fists that smashed into the beast causing it to stagger metres backwards.

Its crimson eyes glaring at the students who all snarled at the goat beast.

Before they could even take a step forward, the beast leaped up into the air causing a crater to appear where it stood earlier.

Bang—!

Kicking the air with all its might, the beast dashed towards the students and within a heartbeat, it appeared in their midst.

Claws lashing towards a student at full speed that made it look like a blur.

Clang—!

A gauntlet intercepted the claw’s path loudly.

Zach was behind the gauntlet blocking the strike. His teeth was grinding back and forth in immense pain as he was struggling to hold back the attack.

Ki flared around his second hand and with all his strength, he smashed his fist into the beast’s face causing droplets of blood to splatter out as its whole head turned to the side.

Swinging his hand from down below, a visible line of Ki aura burst from his hand smashing into the beast’s chest.

A thin line of blood tore across the beast’s chest while it staggered backwards in pain with black liquid dripping down its body.

— Woah! The orange tiger is holding his own against a divine ranked beast? That’s awesome.

But Grey who was seated amongst the oblivious spectators.

’He is growing tired. The beast still has a lot of energy in it. This is a bad matchup.’

Zach panted for a few seconds as a bead of sweat appeared on his face.

The other students quickly filed behind Zach awaiting his orders on what to do.

"What are you staring at me for?" He barked at the students beside him.

"Well, what should we do? How do we take the beast down? You are the strongest amongst us."

"Me? What should we do? Fight you fools." Zach barked back at them.

Bang—!

The beast moved at full speed materialising before him in the blink of an eye.

Its claws slashed towards the orange tiger at tremendous speed.

The students all scattered aside like leaves in the wind as the claws almost struck them.

It was only by the skin of their teeth they were able to dodge the the claws as they crashed into the ground.

With a roll, they jumped back upright while huffing with their gauntlets lashing out.

Grey scowled.

’They are limited. Using gauntlets doesn’t give them an edge against the beast. Fools. The only one with a little bit of advantage was the sword user who was down...’ He turned to look for the sword user and his eyes lit up.

’Where is he?!’

Zach quickly sprang up from the fall with a frown on his face. Expression unchanging as his gauntlets began trembling and glowing with energy.

The back of his thighs coiled and with a thunderous bang, he moved at full blistering speed.

Leaping into the air with a loud roar, he swung his hands like claws causing sharp steel finger-like blades to slide out from the gauntlet.

He hammered it into the face of the beast dragging down while causing blood to splatter into the air.

The beast let out a loud growl as its hoove moved through the air at lightning pace smashing right into Zach’s abdomen with the force of a battering ram.

Blood sprayed from his mouth as his eyes almost rolled backwards. His body was sent hurtling through the air causing a deafening bang to echo out with full force.

The wind cut through his face as he was hurtling backwards when some words echoed in his mind.

— If you give up, I will skin you alive. I promise you that.

Gritting his teeth, Zach quickly flipped forward and smashed the claws from his gauntlets dragging his body to a skidding halt.

"Ack..."

A mouthful of blood burst from his mouth as he glared at the beast being kept busy by the others.

’This is difficult. How are we to handle the other waves at this point?’ His eyes darted around when he realised something.

’Wait. Where did he go?’ The orange tiger was unable to locate the sword user for some reason.

But he was unable to dwell on it for too long as another student was sent flying away.

"Damn it." With a gritted teeth, Zach pushed off dashing forward at full speed.

"Within ten seconds, move away!" He roared into the air as Ki flared around his body condescending around his hand.

The energy flowed at tremendous speed condescending around his right arm causing his gauntlet to glow with immense light.

The moment Zach passed in front of them, they all dashed away to the side leaving the beast open.

’I need to aim for the head. It’s too tall for me.’

The moment the thought settled in his mind, a glint of steel appeared in his side of the vision and in a flash, a broken sword struck the back of the beast’s legs digging deep and causing blood to spray out before the broken sword gave out again.

Sliding beneath the beast’s legs was the injured sword user from earlier.

And with his stunt, the beast lost its footing and crashed forward on its knees and at the right moment, Zach was ready.

His hand shot forward at break neck speed and with a roar and all his strength, he drove his fist into the beast’s head.

The claws from the gauntlet digging deep and tearing any flesh trying to block his way.

Blood oozed out in waves.

"Aaaaaargh!" Zach roared at the top of his lungs as a burst of Ki erupted from his knuckles smashing into the beast’s skull and turning its brain to mush as its body slid down and collapsed with a thud.
