Chapter 2833: 2833. Eradicated

’The full extinction of the pillager ant monster species has been achieved.’

’This was a benefit to the flow of the world and the prevention of a violent species capable of consuming the world. No natural predators other than intelligent species existed.’

’The title, nature’s guardian has been partially given.’

’Nature’s guardian- partial title

This is only a partial title since the hero titles represent more focus on the people rather than only the flow of nature. Therefore, this title is not fully given unless full devotion to only nature is held. This can not be changed unless there is a loss of the hero title due to various conflicts...

Nature’s guardian allows for a better sense of the natural flow of nature all around the wielder of this title. It also allows for the ability to sense disturbances in the flow of nature and the feeling of how to repair when necessary.

Natural mana more easily exists in higher density around those with this title slightly increasing their usage of mana and natural research of mana. It also allows them to better interact with species of monsters that may be guided in survival and the balance of nature as a whole....’

The eruption of heat finally faded as the lower areas of the sealed stone underground began to crack. It appeared that the boosted attack from Walker and Gil was enough to truly break the remaining warding seals here. However, it also burned up the remnants of the pillager ants entirely wiping out the last of their species.

While this felt wrong, it clearly was the best way for the world to thrive. This was not the ancient times where there were immensely powerful creatures that could consume the ants at the strongest. It would require constant fighting and culling from the intelligent races which could eventually lead to the loss of those races. The ants would have been a problem at all times no matter what.

Whether there was a way for them to reproduce or not, Walker and the others had no idea. But if the world had just given them titles and focused on the ants more than the possessive mushrooms, then it was all too clear a way for them to become a plague existed.

It also showed that there had been more to whatever was deeper in this sealed area than what they had seen. The remnants of their queen’s body was falling in to a larger pile of ash from what they could see, nothing truly remained of them. Materials were not possible to harvest.

This was fine though. They had worried about the threat to people and the world.

It was odd to see that titles could only be partially given rather than fully given. Something about the hero titles conflicting also made it feel strange.

Yet, thinking about it, heroes were called heroes by specific groups, not by all that was. A guardian of nature had to focus on the flow of nature, meaning wiping out a species or even a whole area of need be. Like forest fires in certain areas being the best way for some forests to grow. It was necessary to nature but might harm the intelligent races or groups there.

It was also clear that heroes could be seen as heroic by one group and villains by another. Meaning that just being a hero to intelligent races did not mean that the party were able to stand tall as people for nature alone.

It could be debated back and forth for a long time, but not a single one of them wanted to care about that. The air in this stone space rushed back in and the temperature was starting to cool. The walls were also starting to crack and crumble proving that without the rune formation’s sealing the place, everything would be falling apart.

Without even hesitating, everyone rushed out, the extremely bright grin on Gil’s face proving that he wanted to fire another arrow like that. The strength he felt in that arrow and the evidence of his hard work making such an arrow was enough. He would chase that feeling whenever he could.

"Make sure you calm down, we can’t fight like that all the time." Walker was trying to keep the destructiveness of that arrow in control. Gil might get too battle focused like Remey did at times or like Midnight did. If that was the case, then they would all have to deal with a lot more hunting for stronger prey or exploring deeper in to the elemental planes sooner.

As they exited the sealed area, the party watched it collapse leaving a massive ashy pit. The earth seemed to shake slightly but there wasn’t much issue leaving this area. It appeared that the monsters they hadn’t seen, which approached were also scared away by the collapse and sudden amount of heat all around.

That wasn’t to say that Onyx didn’t have a myriad of monster bodies on the ground around him and those he guarded. The more terrifying part were the hundred or so serpents with light and dark affinities in the air and shadows. Some were even still coiling around the monsters they had just defeated.

"Saw tooth boars, leaf eater elk, green forest snakes, some gust wolves, and even a few rock foxes. You were busy, and you did an amazing job." Walker saw that Alice was somewhat awake, but she clearly exhausted all of her mana purifying the surrounding area to her best abilities. Because of that, they all felt that the threat of the possessive mushrooms were gone. They wouldn’t be sprouting up and causing anyone or anything problems.

’The species, possessive mushrooms, have been eradicated. There is no reward since a partial title has already been given by the will of the world. Nature has been kept in balance.’

They didn’t even look at the notification. Quests, rewards, and many other aspects of the system were already instinctual to them. They didn’t even look at their skills or the stats. They felt them. This was how the world should be, less involvement from the system and will of the world and more instinct since it was all part of what and who they were.

"We will have to bring everyone back now. This expedition has shown us a lot and we still have to help those exploring the underwater areas of the continent." With all seriousness, Walker used some magic to create stone handcuffs for those who disobeyed orders. This wasn’t a way to make them appear as criminals but a way to show that they were not at all free to do as they wished right now.

They needed to face the consequences of their actions before they went off doing anything else. They had to pay the price for almost releasing two major threats on the world. It just hurt him a bit to realize that despite all the positive growth for the people coming together within Genesis, that there would still be moments like this.

The reality that some people would give in to their desires and rush down a path that would put others at risk. That they would act selfishly.

That was how intelligent races were. They were not perfect beings that only stood for the perfection and beauty of good actions. Not even Walker could call himself an ideal person either. If he was, he would miss out on something. He wouldn’t be whole. But events like this should be avoided and maybe it came from growing too quickly.

People weren’t getting the chance to grow emotionally and mentally as strong as they should before facing greater threats and risks. Training would need to be adjusted. It would take time and a lot of working together with every leader on the Genesis Council.

"So, when are you making more fire arrows like that? I want to add more fire mana to it and see if I can use your fire from an arrow like that to beat something up even better." Remey was actually trying to work together with Gil on this. The two were already going back and forth about synergy attacks they could pull off.

"Maybe you two should focus on how you would control a powerful attack like that not to affect a wide area first. If you used it you could destroy a whole village. Walker would not enhance your attacks if that were a risk." Both looked like they had just been told they were grounded by their mothers. Su was right though. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"We have a lot to consider from what we have learned and we have a lot to do. I just trust we will manage well enough." Walker mumbled a bit as he looked back at the pit. "We don’t know what else might be sealed or dormant on this continent or its waters."
