Aaron skimmed through the details displayed before him and he couldn’t help but feel excited for what the future had in store for him and his magical beasts.
He had noticed a few changes on the screen, like the changes in his physical stats and the little addition of elemental abilities on the screen which now displayed the level of each of the elemental abilities he had obtained, but Aaron noticed a couple of other things as well.
’Hmm, Thunderhoof’s loyalty is currently at 30%.’
’It needs to be 50% if I want him to evolve just like Glimmer.’
’But to do that, I’ll need to find yellow mana crystals first.’
’Then, I guess that means I’ll have to check out the mines or the forest tomorrow with Glimmer.’
’I need to get my hands on a lot more crystals if I wish to bond with the stag.’
’Speaking of Thunderhoof, I haven’t given him a name yet.’
’And I can’t keep calling him Thunderhoof all the time.’
’I wonder what I should call him.’
’Oh well, I’ll think of something tomorrow morning or maybe when I see him again, but for now, I need my beauty sleep,’ Aaron made up his mind before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
The next morning, Aaron started his day as he had planned. The first thing he did after taking his bath, was try to leave the mansion to find the mana crystals, but before he could leave the mansion, Diana noticed him.
Aaron informed her of what he wanted to do but Diana was against it.
She wanted him to use the day and a few more days to rest and recuperate his strength.
For the mana crystals, Diana offered that she and a few archers head out to help him find them.
At first, Aaron didn’t want to agree to it but Diana insisted on going and having a few archers by her side, so he reluctantly agreed to it.
Now, Diana had ventured out to find the yellow mana crystals while Aaron decided to remain in the mansion. However, he wasn’t going to just sit and do nothing all day.
Instead, he went straight to the training room to improve on his close combat techniques, and get used to his new elemental abilities as well.
The personal training was intense, but it was exactly how Aaron liked it. He trained all day long, but now that he was done, he decided to return to his bedroom to have a bath.
Walking out of the bathroom, Aaron swiftly changed his clothes. Then, he made himself some tea, but just when he was about to sit down to drink his evening tea, a knock was suddenly heard on his door.
*Knock* *Knock*
"Come in."
Aurora slowly opened the door and poked her head around it to find Aaron grabbing a mug in his hand.
"Good evening, Aaron," She greeted as she walked into the room.
"Good evening, Your Highness." Aaron greeted her in return but then he noticed the troubled look on Aurora’s face and couldn’t help asking. "Is something wrong, your Highness?"
"Not really, but there’s something I need to ask you."
"Oh, then, please sit," Aaron placed the mug he was holding on the table in front of him as he got up, walked around the table, and pulled the opposite chair out for Aurora to sit on before returning to stand on his side.
"Thank you."
"You’re welcome, so would you like some tea before we begin or..."
"Tea would be nice, thank you."
"Okay," Aaron sat down and brewed some more tea for Aurora, but while he was doing this, he asked. "What is it you would like to discuss with me?"
"Last night, just when the skull crusher was brought to the ground, you approached it and placed a hand on it which made it ignite in flames. "
"Yes, I did."
"But those weren’t any ordinary flames. They were similar to that of a Fire Kitsune and not to that of a mage. I’ve noticed the same thing happening when your hands crackle with electricity, but that happened right after you gave the Thunderhoof a yellow mana crystal, and this has got me thinking, do the magical beasts you tame bless you with these abilities?"
The room fell silent for a while but Aaron replied right after he placed Aurora’s tea in front of her.
"To be honest, Your Highness, even though I do not fully understand how I’m able to manipulate the elements around me like a magical beast can, I think you might be right to assume Glimmer and the Thunderhoof might have gifted me these abilities as a reward for taking care of them."
Aurora nodded her head in understanding because there was still a lot they didn’t know about these creatures and how they were suddenly able to manipulate the elements around them, but leaving that aside for now, Aurora leaned towards the table with a worried look on her face.
"I understand, Aaron, but aside from these abilities you have suddenly acquired, have you noticed anything strange about you lately like tiny antlers sprouting from your head or tails coming out of your body?"
Aaron’s eyes widened in surprise and he almost choked on the tea he was drinking.
He desperately wanted to laugh out loud at the ridiculous words that just came out of the princess’s mouth, but he tried very hard not to do that because of how serious Aurora looked right now.
