My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2060: Mutual Disgust at the Sight
"No, it’s very interesting." Ling Kong turned his head, smiled, and bent down to look at the beads of sweat forming on her forehead, his eyes flashing, "You’ve gone to such great lengths to make up your story, even sweating as you speak; if I don’t play along, wouldn’t I be ungentlemanly?"
Yiyi’s face changed dramatically, her eyes flaring with anger, glaring at him with a body faintly trembling from rage.
"What do you mean? Are you messing with me?"
"I don’t know if you’re messing with me or I’m messing with you. You’re the one breaking the rules; we just clapped hands in agreement that you wouldn’t lie." Ling Kong’s voice soft, he lowered his head, his face so close that his cold eyes seemed all the more piercing, sending chills straight to one’s heart.
"I’m telling the truth." Yiyi had no choice but to avoid his penetrating gaze, feeling guilty.
Ling Kong quickly straightened up, took out a silver box, and said nonchalantly:
"It’s truly a very, very advanced lie detector, with an accuracy rate of 99.99%. Regardless of what your earlier words showed, the test results indicated you were lying. People can deceive, but machines do not."
Yiyi’s face showed defeat. The lie detector here was advanced to this extent, damn this technological world, that her babbling for so long had simply been a waste of saliva and brain cells.
Yet this man, knowing full well she was lying from the start, still listened to her nonsense for hours. It’s probably deliberate punishment, finding amusement in seeing her sweat from anxiety over making up a story.
What an annoying jerk.
"Seems you’ve admitted to lying, yet I believed you’d keep your promise after clapping hands in agreement." Ling Kong looked at her coldly, his eyes radiating anger. "Yiyi, your promises are as worthless as farts."
Being ridiculed like this, Yiyi felt a trace of embarrassment and discomfort. She didn’t want to break her promise; she thought he wanted her to promise to be honest about Governor Yun’s matters, which she naturally agreed to since she hadn’t planned to lie.
But who knew he’d be asking about her past.
She couldn’t reveal it to him.
"Did you just realize? Women are so fickle, sly and cunning, unwilling to keep their promises, the liars." She retorted, refusing to yield.
Her indifferent attitude further fueled Ling Kong’s rage as he glared at her: "Yes, this point I’ve truly experienced deeply. Yiyi, you are the most selfish, shameless, and heartless woman!"
"You..." Being yelled at like this, Yiyi’s face changed with anger and grievance.
It’s ridiculous, even if she’s selfish and ungrateful to anyone, she owes nothing to Ling Kong, almost gave her life for him, but all she got in return were such piercing words.
She thought her heart would no longer feel, yet this real pain reminded her that what she deliberately forgot still left a deep scar, and when inadvertently torn open, it hurts.
"I don’t want to argue about such trivial things with you. You brought me here today to interrogate, so let’s move on quickly with the procedure, finish the task, then go our separate ways, so we won’t have to look at each other with disgust." She spoke calmly and coolly.
Trivial things? How heartless, Ling Kong snorted, after all, he has always been an inscrutable person.
