My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 258 - 250: Second Brother, What Are You Doing Here?
He bore a passing resemblance to Alvin Morgan. Apart from their similarly shaped eyes, they didn’t look much alike, especially their gazes, which were worlds apart.
Alvin Morgan’s gaze was cool and reserved, but this man’s eyes looked as if they had weathered countless storms, indifferent to life and death.
Aurora Sinclair’s eyes flew open. She slowly retracted her dagger and took several steps back.
"Brother, what are you doing here?" Alvin Morgan’s voice was filled with suppressed rage, like magma churning beneath a dormant volcano, ready to erupt at any moment.
Eugene Morgan clutched his chest, straightened up, and smiled. "I’m now the personal bodyguard for an A-level researcher."
"Why is your Combat Power so high?"
"Drugs, of course. How else could someone with the Morgans’ natural Constitution level up so quickly?" Eugene Morgan said, looking at him mockingly.
Aurora Sinclair glanced at Alvin Morgan with concern.
His fists were clenched tightly at his sides.
Eugene Morgan put his glasses back on and said coolly, "Kid, go back to being the dutiful Young Master. This is no place for you. If you two leave now, I’ll pretend nothing happened. But take one more step..."
He suddenly drew a weapon and aimed it at Alvin Morgan.
Aurora Sinclair’s eyes turned cold, and in a flash, she moved to stand in front of Alvin Morgan.
"Hah..." Alvin Morgan suddenly laughed. "Aurora..."
Aurora Sinclair blurred into motion, landing a heavy blow on Eugene Morgan’s arm.
Aurora Sinclair slammed him hard against the wall, and his weapon clattered to the floor.
Alvin Morgan picked up the gun from the floor and said flatly, "Brother, I don’t like being threatened."
"Alvin Morgan..."
The color drained from Eugene Morgan’s face, but a sharp pain at the back of his neck sent him into darkness.
Alvin Morgan swapped clothes with Eugene Morgan, and together with Aurora Sinclair, they carried him into a secluded room.
Aurora Sinclair watched Alvin Morgan walk ahead, her expression worried. She hurried forward and grabbed his hand. "Morgan..."
"He died a long time ago," Alvin Morgan said evenly, as if completely unaffected, but Aurora Sinclair could still detect an unnatural edge in his voice.
"Aurora, the experimental area is just ahead. We find that woman, and then we get out."
"What about him...?"
"Forget him. If he’d wanted to come back, he would have done so long ago." Alvin Morgan’s eyes were completely cold.
’Missing for years, not a single word, leaving us to wonder if he was alive or dead. We finally meet again, and it’s in a filthy laboratory where he’s become their attack dog, even transformed into a Martial King...’
’How ironic.’

Eugene Morgan’s uniform was like an all-access pass, granting them unimpeded entry. They soon arrived at the very center of the experimental area.
The area was built like a large workshop, with two floors.
The first floor was lined with dozens of Nutrition Repair Chambers, inside which lay people who had been selected from a holding area.
Two curved staircases at the side led directly to the second-floor cubicles, where many more people were imprisoned.
Aurora Sinclair pretended to be a researcher, looking around, while Alvin Morgan stood against the outer wall of the experimental area like the other security guards.
"Come quick, the readings have stabilized!" someone cried out in excitement.
All eyes turned to the second floor, where a person in a hazmat suit was leaning on the railing, shouting excitedly.
"Really?"
"The S Sedative is a success."
Aurora Sinclair followed the crowd to the second floor. In an isolation cubicle, she saw a man with salt-and-pepper hair. The silver in his pupils was gradually fading back to their natural color, but the Power emanating from his body hasn’t weakened.
A researcher opened the cubicle, leading a group inside to examine the man.
"How do you feel?" a researcher asked.
The man nodded and clenched his fist, seemingly very pleased with his current condition. He laughed heartily. "I feel like I’m overflowing with Strength. HAHAHA..."
A nearby researcher watched a monitor, recording the data displayed.
"At peak condition, Combat Power is up by a full Level, atavism value is at 34 percent, and the subject remains lucid..."
Standing outside the glass, Aurora Sinclair’s gaze fell on the collar around the man’s neck, and a flicker of emotion crossed her eyes.
"Excellent. This ratio is optimal. We’ll add it to the drug..."
But before he could finish, a pained expression suddenly contorted the man’s face. He clutched his head and screamed, "Get away from me—!"
The color of his pupils bleached out again. He looked to be in agony, his body straining as if fighting against something from within. Veins bulged on his skin. Finally, he broke free of his restraints and lunged at the nearest researcher, his hands closing around the man’s throat like the jaws of a wild beast.
The researchers scrambled frantically out of the room, yelling to the security guards below, "Save him! Quickly!"
To Aurora Sinclair’s shock, the guards below moved with terrifying speed. They dragged a frail-looking person from a small room, doused him with a basin of blood, and hauled him up to the second floor, preparing to shove him into the cubicle.
Aurora Sinclair was furious.
She launched a fist at the guard, pulling the frail person to safety.
"What do you think you’re doing?"
Aurora Sinclair clenched her fists, her Power surging. "No, what do you think *you’re* doing?"
"What are you doing?! He’s dying! He’s an A-level researcher from headquarters!"
But before the words left his mouth, a figure as fast as lightning—Aurora—struck him in the abdomen.
The people in hazmat suits dropped like flies.
Security guards quickly drew their guns to fire at Aurora Sinclair, but Alvin Morgan, standing nearby, shot them from behind first.
The firefight erupted—
Aurora Sinclair moved so fast that no bullet could touch her. Instead, she took down one armed guard after another, leaving them incapacitated on the floor.
Someone hit an alarm, and sirens blaring "ENEMY INTRUSION" echoed throughout the entire experimental zone.
Seeing the surrounding security systems activate, Alvin Morgan immediately shouted, "This way!"
He strained to hold open a heavy door that was closing, yelling for Aurora Sinclair to hurry.
The two of them sprinted for their lives through the labyrinthine experimental area, dodging the security guards who were closing in.
"After them! Split up!"

「Elsewhere.」
In a hidden room within the experimental area, a woman in a white lab coat was elegantly sipping coffee.
The screen in front of her showed several surveillance feeds, all tracking the two figures as they fled.
"Madam, I have failed in my duty! I never expected two rats to slip in."
Eugene Morgan, dressed in only a thin set of clothes, knelt on one knee, his expression grave as he looked at the woman before him.
"No matter. Tell them I want them alive." The woman’s voice was placid, betraying no emotion.
"Yes..." Eugene Morgan rose to his feet and hurried out.
"Wait."
Eugene Morgan froze. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Bring them to me."
