Playing inventor in a cultivation world-Chapter 10: Kazi vs Seraph? Heh~
While the adults discussed ’important’ matters, Kazi walked about the manor, his expression still as haughty as ever. The Moonveil maids who saw him bowed slightly, recognizing his robes.
This further fueled his pride as he raised his chin higher. The guard behind him could only shake his head helplessly.
’Young Master is too arrogant.’
Surprisingly, Kazi stumbled on a particular duo training in the courtyard. The flash of swords was fast and skillful, making his eyes brighten in awe. Who else could it be if not Seraph and Ariana? He soon noticed one of them and asked the guard behind him.
"Is that the rumored five-ci-aptitude, Ariana Moonveil?"
The guard studied the girl deeply, then nodded. "Indeed. She matches the description we know. Silver hair and blue eyes. It’s definitely her."
Kazi’s eyes suddenly shone with intense greed. The girl was beautiful, even more than his talentless elder sisters. Even without knowing that his mother was proposing a marriage, he already liked the girl. He pointed at her and said to his guard.
"I want her!"
Of course, the guard was taken aback. However, before he could say anything, Kazi already barged into the training ground.
"Hey-"
Immediately sensing someone interrupting, Ariana turned to him with a scowl.
"Who let this buffon in?"
The words Kazi wanted to say died in his throat while his face turned ugly. He, a young master with a five-ci-aptitude, had been insulted. It had never happened to him since he was born. Even his mother always treated him with care. It stung more that he was insulted by someone younger than him.
Unfortunately, Ariana didn’t recognize his robes and had said those words instinctively. Before he could retort and make things worse, his guard spoke up.
"Apologies, Young Lady Ariana. We should have introduced ourselves. This is Young Master Kazi, from the Suho Clan and I’m his guard."
"Oh."
Realizing her mistake, Ariana gasped slightly, then felt sorry. "I’m sorry for being rude."
She had initially thought he was some random kid who had waltzed into the clan manor. Unexpectedly, he was the heir to another clan.
Kazi’s expression recovered as he felt pleased by her apology. He smiled and opened his mouth to speak when—
Bonk! Bonk!
Seraph calmly hit Ariana’s head with the flat of his wooden sword while smiling.
"Didn’t I tell you not to get distracted?"
"Ah!"
The girl held her head with a pout, then took her sword again to face him, completely ignoring the poor young master.
Once again, the words Kazi wanted to say died in his throat. His face turned purple, a comical sight, since he was interrupted again! Also, he felt jealous that Ariana ignored him for that boy instead. Of course, all of this was childish thinking but genuine.
Marching forward with a ’cold’ expression, he pointed a finger at Seraph and said.
"You! I challenge you to a death match!"
His guard almost vomited blood. Holding his chest, he hurriedly intervened.
"What Young Master actually means is that he wants to spar with you, nothing else."
Meanwhile, he sent a mental message to Kazi and warned him.
’Young Master, you shouldn’t say that anyhow. What if you kill him? Do you think they would let you go easily?’
Kazi huffed but didn’t argue. Instead, his gaze remained fixed on Seraph’s rainbow colored eyes.
’I think I’ve heard something about it before...?’
He couldn’t really recall where he’d heard of rainbow eyes before. However, that didn’t matter. Instead, he’d make sure he teach that idiot a good lesson.
Naturally, Seraph understood the woes of his childish thinking and sighed. He didn’t want trouble, however, he had no reason to refuse.
"Ariana, give him your sword."
He said cooly, his smile omnipresent.
The girl was a bit surprised, then complied. Kazi collected the sword without sparing her a glance, trying to look cool. Inwardly though...
’See for yourself, girl. See as I trash him.’
Facing Seraph, he took a stance, then attacked. He moved very fast, striking at the white-haired boy’s shoulder decisively.
Unfortunately...
The next thing he knew, he was on the ground, face-first.
’W-what?!’
Before he could process what happened, he received a whack on his butt.
"Hah? Young Master Kazi, your stance was a bit too wide. Perhaps you’ve been training poorly."
Seraph commented whilst smiling. And seeing that smile, Ariana shivered. Even though he had only been training her for five days, she could already tell what kind of ’hell’ was coming.
Kazi sprang up, his face smeared with dust. He was still in disbelief because he had no idea how he lost. However, hearing Seraph’s polite but taunting remark, it reignited his fury.
"Again!"
Wiping the dust off his face, he picked up the sword and faced him again. The white haired boy continued to smile.
"Perhaps I should move slowly so Young Master Kazi can react?"
Those words, although polite, made the guard frown. It was blatant disrespect through fake respect. Anyone could tell.
Still, Kazi ignored those words and attacked.
This time, Seraph did move a bit slower. Instead of blocking Kazi’s strike, he stepped back, allowing the strike to miss him by an inch.
With the sword hitting nothing, Kazi’s balance was lost as he stumbled forward. Thankfully, he immediately regained his bearing, only to see Seraph hitting the back of his knees with his sword.
"Young Master, your balance needs to be corrected."
While hearing that, Kazi once again fell face first.
The guard’s lips twitched at the side and he finally decided to intervene and stop this ’disgraceful spar’.
"Young Master, I believe that is enough sparring. Please let us return to the Matriarch."
Naturally, how could Kazi accept his loss?!
"No way! I’m going to ki—"
’Young Master!’ The guard hurriedly sent him a spirit message. ’You mustn’t say that! What if something happens to him? They’ll claim you killed him! Right now, we’re in their territory so it’s better to be cautious.’
"Hmph!"
Snorting, Kazi turned away from Seraph and returned to the guard’s side. Without another word, they prepared to leave. However, before they left, the guard sent his spiritual sense towards Seraph, wanting to know what cultivation he had.
Unfortunately, he was blocked by two other spiritual senses on the same level with him.
’Damn it! He’s being protected. I’ll have to report to the matriarch.’
When they left, Seraph kept staring at their direction with a faint smile that didn’t reach his eyes. Apparently, he had sensed the young master’s killing intent when he was speaking, and the guard’s spiritual sense trying to probe him.
Seeing his eyes, Ariana felt like something was wrong. But because she was still young, she couldn’t put a finger on it.
"What are you waiting for? Come here already."
Sighing, she picked her sword and continued to train with Seraph.
