Prodigal System in the Flourishing City-Chapter 1330 - 1331: One Thing After Another
"You really are quite direct." The Bishop had a bitter smile on his face that seemed hard to suppress.
However, he shook his head and said, "How about listening to my demands first?"
"Sure, go ahead." Lu Xiaobu nodded.
"First, the royalties. Second, please have your artist join the Catholic Church. Third, when promoting externally, allow us to say that the creation was under the blessing of the Father," the Bishop finished.
"Planning to use it as a promotional tool, aren’t you?" Lu Xiaobu stroked his chin, starting to understand.
The reason doesn’t need much explanation; you all can probably guess it.
"I can’t guarantee the second request. I can only say it’ll depend on their personal wishes; I won’t force it. As for the third, I have no objection," Lu Xiaobu thought for a moment and replied.
Perhaps Catholicism wants to use this song to spread in the Heavenly Dynasty.
But so what?
The Heavenly Dynasty is already religiously free, and there are actually believers there. This isn’t some kind of cult, so there’s no other impact.
"You really care for your subordinates," the Bishop laughed. "Alright then, as long as you don’t object to the second condition, it’s fine."
"Mm, now that we’ve talked about your requests, it’s time to say what you can offer me, right?" Lu Xiaobu nodded.
"The Dragon Head from the Summer Palace. You should know about it," the Bishop said, "the genuine artifact is currently in a believer’s home, and I’ve convinced him to donate it back to your motherland for free."
"Hm?"
Lu Xiaobu’s eyebrows twitched.
The Dragon Head from the Summer Palace, which couldn’t be found for so long, appeared here?
However, he shook his head, "Not enough."
"Then what do you want?" The Bishop frowned. "You should be well aware of the value of the Dragon Head—not just its intrinsic value but the numerous additional benefits, especially in a case of free donation like this."
"You’re right, but it’s still not enough." Lu Xiaobu shook his head. "Besides the Dragon Head, I also want the whereabouts of the Snake Head, Chicken Head, Dog Head, and Sheep Head. You’re a Bishop, after all, and your believers are all over the world. Surely there’s a way."
"This..." The Bishop hesitated.
To be honest, just providing the locations doesn’t seem too excessive.
However, as a Bishop, if he were to casually reveal such information, it could cause trouble.
The previous arrangement regarding the Dragon Head was a decided agreement, so it could be stated boldly.
"Let’s end our talk here for today. Once you’ve decided, notify me, as I’ll be staying in America for a week," Lu Xiaobu spoke directly, not overly aggressive.
"Alright, let me think about it," the Bishop nodded.
...
Lu Xiaobu left the church, rubbing his head as he walked back.
He hadn’t expected to get involved with the Beast Head Bronze Statues of the Summer Palace on this trip to America.
If he didn’t know, it would be one thing, but now that he knew, he definitely had to fight for it.
As he walked, three people suddenly blocked Lu Xiaobu’s way: "Mr. Lu, how about coming with us?"
Zhang Meng stepped forward, blocking the three.
"State your names and organization," Lu Xiaobu yawned and said.
Among them, a young man with fiery red spiky hair stepped forward, spinning a cigarette in his hand, and said slightly flippantly, "You’ll know if you come with us, won’t you?"
"Talking like that will get you beaten up, you know?" Lu Xiaobu laughed.
"Oh, really?" The young man squinted his eyes, revealing a hint of anger from being underestimated.
"Yes." Lu Xiaobu smirked, "Zhang Meng."
"Yes, Young Master," Zhang Meng bared his teeth with a smile, like a beast.
"Boom!"
Zhang Meng’s body launched like a missile straight at the young man.
"Bring it on!"
The young man wore a grim look, stretched out his hand, and suddenly conjured a ball of fire out of thin air.
He hurled the fire directly at Zhang Meng’s face, "Burn to ashes for me!"
"Tsk."
Zhang Meng made a dismissive sound with his lips.
Clenching his fist.
He punched out.
"Whoosh!"
The intense gust from his punch instantly blew out the splendid-looking fireball entirely.
Then, the punch, in Red Hair’s shocked eyes, charged straight toward his face!
In that moment, Red Hair felt the arrival of the Death God!
This punch, if he took it—he’d die!
"Swish!"
Another bald young man from the trio suddenly stepped in front of Red Hair, raised his arms, crossed them together, preparing to take Zhang Meng’s blow head-on.
"You’ll never break through these arms of mine!" the bald man jeered.
"Bang."
The fist made contact with the bald man’s crossed arms.
Instantly, the bald man’s facial features twisted horribly.
Along with the subtle sound of bones cracking, the bald man’s feet left the ground, crashing backward into Red Hair.
Then, the two of them flew backward together.
"Bang!"
They landed heavily on the ground.
"Taking one punch from me, you do have some skill." Zhang Meng chuckled, his gleaming white teeth radiating a chilling glow.
Then, he took another step forward.
"Stop, Mr. Lu, I apologize on behalf of these two," the only remaining girl among the trio stepped forward and bowed in apology: "Those two just don’t know when to give up and wanted to try."
"Zhang Meng," Lu Xiaobu called Zhang Meng to stop.
"Thank you, Mr. Lu." The girl raised her head.
When Lu Xiaobu saw the girl’s eyes, he focused on her eyes directly.
These eyes were large and beautiful, but they had no pupils!
"The same question as before, who are you, and where are you from?" Lu Xiaobu didn’t linger his gaze and continued to ask.
"We are Superpower Users from Sea Eagle, here to invite Mr. Lu, or rather Master Lu, for a meeting," the girl continued.
"Sea Eagle? A Superpower User organization? And you know my status as a Grandmaster? Interesting." Lu Xiaobu laughed, nodded, "Lead the way."
On the road.
"Why did you think to come find me?" Lu Xiaobu inquired.
"When Master Lu publicly discussed Superpowers and Qi, weren’t you looking for us?" The girl chuckled bitterly, "If not to find us, why would you, as a Grandmaster, go to such great lengths?"
"Is that so?" Lu Xiaobu chuckled, neither confirming nor denying.
He did indeed have that intention at the time.
He still remembered the Old Poison saying that there were genius treasures abroad similar to ancient trees.
Having the chance to come to America, not witnessing them seemed like a waste.
Of course, if he could take them, even better, ahem!
No, no, I’m not a robber; I’m just saying if there’s a possibility, right, peacefully collect them.
Mm, very reasonable, very normal, I’m sure you would all agree with my view, right!
Ahem!
