Chapter 30: "I’ll Strangle You To Death!"

Seated in his office, Rowen had a slight smile plastered across his face as he stared at the piece of earring in front of him.

Vanessa had forgotten them at the hotel. Thankfully, he had forgotten something and went back; otherwise, they would have been taken away by the room service.

Meanwhile, standing beside the door was George, who couldn’t help but notice the sudden changes visible in Rowen.

His eyes were brighter than usual, and his temperament was also different. It looked like he had a lot of fun last night.

He almost laughed as Rowen flashed him a glance. "What are you laughing at?"

He questioned as George just shook his head. Sighing, Rowen said, "Send in some jewelry and some cheongsam dresses to Vanessa... She looked very beautiful in the one she wore yesterday. Get more dresses similar to that."

He instructed as George nodded, ready to leave, when suddenly, the door burst open and Rachel walked in.

Seeing her, Rowen frowned immediately. "What are you doing here?"

He questioned as his eyes, which had been bright just a couple of seconds ago, turned dark. Seeing Rachel just made his skin itch.

"Rowen, you have to listen to me... I have something to show you!"

She tried walking towards him, but George blocked her access.

"George, take her away. She isn’t allowed into Quinn Enterprise. Send her away!"

He shouted, turning his chair around so his broad back faced her.

Doing as he was instructed, George took hold of Rachel and tried to take her out, but she resisted as much as she could.

"I know you don’t want to see me, but you must see what your so-called Vanessa is doing behind your back."

As soon as those words left her mouth, George paused slightly to see if Rowen was interested in what she had to say.

But Rowen paid her no mind. "George, I said take her out!"

Rowen shouted once more, and this time, George didn’t hesitate as he dragged her out. But just then, Vanessa’s voice was heard.

"Alright then, let’s get married!"

Rowen turned around to see Rachel holding her phone up high, playing a video of Vanessa and Erin.

In the video:

"Good... I’ll quickly go and get ready. The marriage will be grand. I can’t wait to see the look on Rowen’s face. Did he really think you are now suddenly a good wife? Ah! You’re mine something he will learn real soon."

Erin said as Vanessa just laughed along with him.

And with that, the video ended, followed by an impending silence.

"Did you hear that, Rowen? That Vanessa is a witch... She’s a deceiver. The only reason she was showing you all that love and treating Tara like that was because she was just trying to win your trust."

"Shut up."

"I will not shut up! You love her and treat her so well, yet she betrays you for that scoundrel. I didn’t hear much because I came too late, but if I remember correctly, they were both talking about a file..."

"George, take her away!" He instructed once more.

As George did as instructed, Rachel shouted, "You have to trust me, Rowen... She’s a liar... Everything was a scam!"

Soon, Rachel’s voice faded as she was taken out of the company.

Seated alone, Rowen’s expression was unreadable. No one could guess what was going on in his mind.

But one thing was certain he wasn’t happy one bit.

---

It was around seven in the evening, and Vanessa was seated on her couch with a glass of wine as she memorized her script.

Just three more days before they started the production of the movie.

At this point, she was all smiles. So far, things had worked out. She was able to escape from Eunice and exact her revenge.

But that was only a taste of what was to come. She had so many games up her sleeve that would leave Eunice and everyone who had hurt her begging on their knees.

Just then, she was brought back to reality by the doorbell, and with that, she stood up lazily to open the door.

She wondered who would be visiting her at this time of the day, and to her surprise, it was Rowen.

Smiling, she opened the door wider as she gestured for him to come in, and the cold-looking Rowen entered without a word.

"What brings you here?" she asked as though she wasn’t aware that he must have missed her all day.

Frowning, Rowen brought out the pair of earrings he had with him as he responded, "I came here to deliver this to you... You left it at the hotel."

Smiling, Vanessa took it as she muttered, "I’ve been looking for this all day. Thanks a lot, but I’m sure that’s not the only reason you’re here. You have so many workers you could have gotten someone to deliver this for me. Tell me, why are you really here?"

She asked as she blinked slightly her eyes fixed on him. She had to say, he was looking extra charming today.

"You are really smart. Yes, I’m not just here to deliver these earrings... I’m also here to inform you that whatever happened last night should be forgotten. You were drugged, and I was a little drunk myself. Let us both forget about it and go our separate ways."

Upon hearing that, the smile on Vanessa’s face dropped immediately. ’What’s wrong with Rowen?’ she thought.

"Go our separate ways? What do you mean?" she asked, a little worried.

"Why do you seem shocked by my words, Miss Owen? It seems that you must have forgotten that we are now divorced, so we have absolutely nothing to do with one another."

"I’ll be busy for the next few days. Don’t come to the company, and don’t go near Tara. I’m warning you, Vanessa if I dare see you near Tara, I’ll strangle you to death!"

Saying that, Rowen turned around and left, leaving Vanessa absolutely confused.
