Rebirth, Seduce My Ex-husband-Chapter 58
Rowen dropped Vanessa at the Owen mansion. As she stepped out of the car, she stood there, watching as Rowen walked over to her.
With a faint smile, she asked, "So, where are you headed now?"
"I have to go back to Willows. There’s a business trip I need to sort out. It’s a big one could really change things for my company."
Vanessa nodded, though a flicker of disappointment crossed her face. She didn’t want to let him go, but she knew she had to.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye... at least until you return." She sighed. "I’ll head inside myself. No need to walk me in."
She turned to leave, but Rowen reached out and gently grabbed her hand, stopping her.
"You can’t just walk away like that. I still have things to tell you."
"Like what?"
"First off, casino businesses are illegal in Graceland. But with a smart lawyer, you could still get bail. So... I dug up Erin’s old business records and sent them to the police. Let’s just say he won’t be walking free anytime soon."
His words made Vanessa smile. She wanted Erin locked up for good.
Rowen cleared his throat, then asked, "Why didn’t you tell me you were planning all this? I could’ve helped."
Vanessa laughed softly. "If I told you, it wouldn’t have been as fun... or believable. Besides, it was my fight. My mess to fix. I didn’t want to drag you into it."
Rowen nodded, letting out a sigh. He never knew Vanessa had such a sharp, clever side and he liked it.
"Well, I need to get out of this wedding dress," Vanessa muttered, tugging at the heavy fabric. "It’s killing me."
Just then, Rowen pulled her close, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist. Their faces were just inches apart.
"You really plan to leave without doing something first?" he asked, raising a brow.
Vanessa blinked, confused. "Doing what?"
Before she could get an answer, Rowen leaned in and kissed her. Her eyes widened at first, but she quickly gave in, their lips moving together in sync, everything else around them fading away.
But then, Rowen suddenly pulled back. "Wait... this isn’t right. It feels wrong."
Vanessa frowned. "What’s wrong? Did something happen?"
"I can’t keep doing this especially when I haven’t made you my wife again."
Without warning, he scooped her up in his arms, holding her tightly in a bridal carry.
Blushing, Vanessa wrapped her arms around his neck. "Where are you taking me?"
"You’ll see soon enough."
He gently placed her back into the car and drove off.
Some time later, they arrived at the Graceland Marriage Bureau. Rowen parked, stepped out, and picked her up again, her dress flowing slightly in the breeze.
"Put me down I can walk," Vanessa muttered, cheeks flushed.
But Rowen ignored her protests and carried her inside, not caring who saw.
Inside the marriage bureau, the staff stared in surprise as Rowen carried Vanessa straight to the front desk. One of the clerks, an older woman with reading glasses and a cup of half-finished coffee, blinked a few times before speaking.
"Uh... can I help you?"
"Yes," Rowen said firmly. "We’d like to get married. Right now."
Vanessa buried her face in his chest, half-laughing, half-embarrassed. "You’re crazy."
"Crazy about you," he muttered just loud enough for her to hear.
The clerk raised a brow but didn’t ask questions. "Do you have your IDs?"
Rowen nodded and handed over both their documents, clearly having planned this. Vanessa shot him a look.
"You came prepared?"
"I told you," he said, setting her down gently on a nearby seat, "I wasn’t letting you walk away without making you mine again."
The whole process was quick. A few signatures, a small waiting period, and they were led into a simple room where a quiet officiant stood ready.
"You sure about this?" Vanessa asked one last time, her voice low.
Rowen looked her straight in the eyes. "I’ve never been more sure of anything."
With her heart pounding, she gave a small nod.
The ceremony was short. No crowds. No decorations. Just the two of them, a few witnesses, and a couple of quiet vows.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant said with a small smile. "You may kiss the bride."
Rowen didn’t wait. He pulled her in again, softer this time, but with no less feeling. It wasn’t just about passion anymore. It was about promise.
As they stepped outside, the sun had dipped lower, painting the sky a dull orange. Vanessa leaned into him.
"So, what now, husband?"
Rowen smirked. "Now? I make you mine tonight."
Saying that, they both entered back into the car and he drove them straight home.
upon arriving, he immediately carried her straight to the room as Vivan who saw them entering just sighed. She was back sooner than she realized
...
It was the middle of the night when Rowen slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Vanessa after their four hours of fun, he wanted her to rest. he then started gathering the last of his things. His flight to Willows was early.
Just as he reached for his watch on the dresser, his phone buzzed.
Unknown number.
He stared at the screen for a second, then answered, stepping out quietly into the hallway.
"...Hello?"
Silence at first. Then a voice quiet, steady, familiar.
Rowen didn’t speak. He just listened, his face unreadable in the dim hallway light.
And then, after a long pause, he finally spoke.
"...You?"
The call ended.
Rowen just looked straight into nothing, his mind obviously going through places as he sighed heading back into bedroom
A month passed.
While Rowen remained in Willows handling business and whatever else that call had stirred, Vanessa stayed in Graceland, now the new owner of the Quinn mansion, since her husband was away..
Her life had taken on a new rhythm, a better one. Most of her focus went into rebuilding something far more important than any reputation, her bond with Tara. The distance that had quietly grown between mother and daughter over time started to shrink.
As for her career, it hadn’t fallen, not even close. If anything, the chaos from the marriage had only made her name bigger. People respected how she handled it. Brands, clients, and collaborators reached out more than ever. Her face appeared in more interviews, her voice carried more weight, and she used that spotlight with grace.
Vanessa didn’t chase attention. She earned it. And now, finally, she was living on her own terms no shadows, no whispers behind her back, no pretending
The rain poured hard against the windows, loud enough to drown out the sound of the movie playing in the background. Thunder rumbled somewhere in the distance, but inside the Quinn mansion, the atmosphere was warm and calm.
Vanessa sat curled up on the floor beside the fireplace, Tara tucked against her side with a bowl of popcorn on her lap. Nearby, Kami, Fiona, and Mariam were sprawled across the plush rugs and couches, wrapped in blankets, all mid-laughter over something silly Mariam had said.
The room smelled like hot chocolate and cinnamon candles. The kind of night you didn’t want to end.
"I swear, if I see one more romance plot where the girl forgives him in five minutes, I’m throwing the remote," Kami said, pointing at the TV as the lead couple kissed under an umbrella.
"Oh, please, you’d still cry about it," Fiona teased.
Over the past month, the relationship between four of them had gone really far. After Erin and Eunice had been placed in jail life had just been peaceful.
She visited Eunice a few days back and trust me when i saw Eunice wasn’t one bit happy to see her, in fact if not for the steel bars that was separating them both, Eunice would have literally bounced at her.
Facing vanessa, kami asked, "by the way, when is my brother in-law returning?"
Her words caused vanessa to blush slightly. "We talked two days ago, he said anytime this week he would be back."
""I’m sure you can’t wait for him to be back, awn." Fiona teased slight as they all laughed.
Vanessa laughed quietly, brushing a lock of hair from Tara’s face. Her daughter looked up at her and smiled a soft, easy smile that hadn’t come so freely a few months ago.
But just then, a loud knock echoed through the hallway.
Everyone paused.
Another knock. Firmer this time.
Vanessa stood, exchanging a quick glance with Kami. "Who’d come in this weather?"
She walked toward the door, heart beating just a little faster. It was late. Stormy. And unannounced visitors weren’t exactly common.
She pulled the heavy door open.
There, standing soaked on the front steps, was Rowen.
He looked tired. Rain clung to his jacket and dripped from his hair. His eyes locked onto hers, unreadable.
But it wasn’t just him.
Standing behind him... was Stacy.
