Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Vanessa was officially one month and three weeks pregnant something she hadn’t told anyone. Only she knew, and she was planning to reveal it to Rowen once he returned. A baby felt like the best way to start their life again, and she couldn’t wait.

Unknown to her, what awaited her was something she absolutely didn’t see coming.

"Stacy?"

Vanessa voiced out upon staring straight at the slender blonde woman who stood behind Rowen.

"How do you know my name?" Stacy asked, since Vanessa never met her unknown to them that she knew her from her previous life.

Stepping in, Rowen took hold of Vanessa’s hands as he stared at her awkwardly. Vanessa could sense something was wrong from the moment she saw Stacy.

Facing Kami, she said, "Please, Kami, could you take Tara back to her room?"

She said as Kami nodded, reluctant to leave herself. Tara, on the other hand, ran towards Rowen as she hugged him happily.

"Papa! I’ve missed you so much, welcome back,"

she said cutely as Rowen smiled and patted her head.

"Papa has missed little Tara too."

Rowen hugged her slightly. Facing Stacy, Tara’s face immediately turned cold.

"Papa, who is that lady?"

she asked, pointing at Stacy. Upon hearing that, Stacy smiled slightly as she bent down to Tara’s level.

"Well little one, I’m Stacy, and I’m Papa’s good friend that will be staying with you for a while."

She said, her words taking everyone by surprise except Rowen, who didn’t seem unaware. Seeing what was going on, Kami quickly took hold of Tara’s hands and took her back to her room, leaving the grown-ups to battle the current situation.

After Tara left, the room was silent. Then Rowen broke the awkward silence.

"Vanessa, Stacy will be staying with us for a while."

"And why would she be doing that?" Vanessa questioned, obviously offended by Rowen’s words. "Yes! She saved you and all, but I thought you already got her sorted out. Why the hell is she here in Graceland all the way from Willows?"

Vanessa asked, her voice louder than usual as she felt her skin itch slightly.

She was feeling so many things at the moment she was angry, sad, and confused about why Stacy was here. She thought she had gotten her out of the picture. Out of Rowen’s life. But her being back all of a sudden wasn’t smelling like good news.

"I want an explanation," she demanded, as Rowen’s next words shocked her entire world.

"She’s pregnant."

He said, his own words making him shiver slightly.

"Vanessa, Stacy is pregnant with my child."

He repeated once more as everywhere in the room turned absolutely quiet so quiet that even the drop of a needle could be heard.

Vanessa stood still, her hands shaking at her sides. Her chest felt tight, like she couldn’t breathe properly.

"You’re lying," she said quietly, staring straight at Rowen.

He didn’t say anything. Just looked down.

Vanessa’s voice grew louder. "Tell me you’re lying, Rowen."

"I’m not," he said. "It wasn’t supposed to happen. I didn’t mean for any of this."

She stepped back, like his words physically hit her. "Not supposed to happen?" she repeated, her voice full of pain. "You slept with her. You chose to do that. Don’t act like it just... happened."

Rowen looked like he wanted to explain, but didn’t know how. Stacy stood quietly to the side, not saying a word.

Vanessa turned to her slowly, her eyes full of anger. "You knew I was here. You knew about me, didn’t you?"

Stacy nodded. "I did."

"And you still came?"

"I didn’t come here to hurt you," Stacy said gently. "I just... I thought you should know. And Rowen asked me to stay."

Vanessa let out a bitter laugh. "Of course he did."

She looked back at Rowen. "I trusted you. After everything we’ve been through. I trusted you with Tara. With my heart. And this... this is what you give me?"

"I made a mistake," Rowen said, guilt in his eyes. "But I’ll take care of the baby. I have to."

Vanessa shook her head slowly. "And what about me? What about us? What do I do now, huh? Just stand by while you play house with her?"

Rowen didn’t answer.

The silence hurt more than words.

Vanessa blinked away the tears that started to fall. "I can’t look at you right now."

She said ready to leave as Rowen took hold of her hands, "she being here doesn’t change anything, once she gives birth then she would leave."

He explained but Vanessa wasn’t having it, "how exactly did it happen?" she asked once again.

"we met up for a drink then we got drunk, I don’t remember much after that but she came to be five days ago to tell me she was pregnant, we went to the hospital to confirm and she was indeed pregnant." He explained his eyes to ashamed to meet Vanessa’s gaze.

Hearing all he had said Vanessa just smile bitterly, "You really have a thing for getting people pregnant." And with that, she turned and walked toward the door, pausing only once. "I hope you’re ready for the mess you just brought into this house."

Then she left, slamming the door behind her.

Stacy looked at Rowen, who hadn’t moved. His hands were clenched at his sides, his whole body tense. With that, a devious smile appeared on her face as she thought, ’oh sweet Vanessa, this is just the beginning, watch as is snatch away all what you have stolen from me, one by one.

After Vanessa left, he entire room became silent and awkard.

Fiona, who had been standing by the hallway door the whole time, finally stepped in. Her arms were crossed, and her lips pressed into a thin line. She didn’t look surprised just angry.

"So that’s it?" she said, her voice cold as she looked at Rowen. "You cheat on Vanessa, get another woman pregnant, and then you bring her here like this is some kind of game?"

Rowen looked up, "this isn’t your place to talk."

"wrong! Vanessa is my friend and whoever, I mean it whoever dares to hurt her, then I have every right to give them a piece of my mind." Fiona snapped 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She turned toward Stacy, giving her a look from head to toe. "You really knew what you were doing, didn’t you?"

Stacy didn’t respond, but the slight smirk on her face didn’t go unnoticed.

Fiona scoffed. "Wow. You’re both perfect for each other. A liar and a homewrecker."

She turned back to Rowen, shaking her head. "You just lost the best thing that ever happened to you. And for what? A one-night mistake? Good luck fixing that."

Without waiting for a response, Fiona grabbed her purse and walked out, slamming the door just as hard as Vanessa had.

Mariam had been sitting quietly on the stairs the whole time, watching everything with wide eyes. She was Rowen’s little sister, but even now, she couldn’t hide her disappointment.

She slowly came down the steps, stopping right in front of him.

"I looked up to you," she said softly. "You were the one I always admired. But now... I don’t even know who you are."

Rowen opened his mouth, but no words came.

Mariam didn’t cry. She just looked tired. Sad.

"I love you, Rowen. You’re my brother. But I don’t support this. I didn’t like vanessa before, but now she’s different and a changed person, you suddenly showing up with this woman, im not sure if it’s going to do you any good."

She glanced at Stacy, who stood behind him, still silent.

"And I don’t trust her."

Then Mariam turned and quietly walked away, heading into her room and closing the door behind her.

Stacy placed a hand gently on his shoulder. "It’ll be okay, Vanessa will surely come around.’

Shoving her hands off, Rowen took hold of her harshly, pressing her hands to the point it started turning red, "once you give birth, you will take your things and leave my life and my family... Do you understand?"

With that, he pushed her away but not to hard to make her fall and with that, he turned and left as stay just stood there, anger visible on her face as she whispered to herself, "there was a time you once loved me Rowen and soon the past would repeat itself over again."

The night before Rowen left, he received an unexpected call from Stacy. He had no idea why she was calling him. She insisted that they needed to talk, and though he was confused, he agreed to meet her. When they met up, they spent some time talking, and after a few drinks, one thing led to another. Neither of them expected it, but they ended up spending the night together. They decided to just forget about it since it was a mistake but unfortunately.

Two weeks later, Stacy informed Rowen that she was pregnant. He was in shock, confused about how it happened. They had both been drinking, and Rowen couldn’t remember the details of the night clearly. When they went to the doctor to confirm it, the truth was undeniable, Stacy was pregnant, and Rowen was the father.

This left Rowen in an impossible situation. He didn’t know how to tell Vanessa or how to handle the situation with Stacy. But Stacy made it clear that she would be staying with him temporarily while they worked things out.

Unknown to them all that her presense would bring so many disasters,
