Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 737: We Must Not Falter
Leonine Heaven.
A portal appeared in the dark empty abyss of the central coverage.
It was dark and if not for the golden light coming from the other coverages, it would be hard to see anything.
The heavenly gate that had just appeared was located not too far from a gigantic continent that was severely damaged and had a battered center.
The place was desolate, devoid of all life, as almost everything had been wiped out by the shockwaves and wave of Oblivion that swept through this area.
"Look at all this..." Burdo said as he floated out of the heavenly gate after Kael’s consorts passed through.
As the most senior Prince in the Ol’mytee Clan, Burdo had assumed a status that was like a second in command. He only answered to the consorts and the All-King from the lion system.
Looking around, his amphibious eyes shook with fear. What he saw was hard to comprehend.
Added with the blatant display of the current population number on the lions system forums, this was a really hard kiss to bear.
If only Ibadon could come back to life so that they could kill him brutally once again.
At least, there was an announcement on all chat forums, congratulating the new Immortals that had evolved.
This was one of the features that had appeared after Kael gained Singularity. Every time a lion evolved or devolved, it would be announced to the whole civilization on the forums.
Not only that, but there were log records for every lion that had been born to the lion system as well as every lion and lioness that died.
At first, it was a bit strange. Some lions didn’t want to be called out and some wanted all the attention. But there had been way too many minor announcements like that that eventually, they only paid attention to it when it was getting too much.
There would be announcement messages like:
[Ding! A new cub had been born!
[Ding! A new cub has been born!
[Ding! Rachford has perished!]
[Ding! Gloella had evolved to tier 4!]
[Ding! Dahmer has devolved to tier 5!]
[Ding! King Quin has evolved to immortal tier!]
[Ding! A new clan has been formed!]
[Ding! A new alliance has been formed!]
[Ding! A zebra vassal has been acquired!]
[Ding! The Essexion Clan has perished!]
These minor announcements would usually flash at the top of a forum before being drowned out by other messages but if one wanted to check them out in detail there was a logbook in the system that gave that access.
As long as it happened, it was recorded.
There was also a search bar that they could use to navigate the loads of messages to find the particular information that they were looking for.
It was a very convenient feature to have and also one that made the lions feel like nothing was ever private about them unless they paid for it.
Yes, the All-King had added a privacy feature which they had to pay for with Conquering Points or Money Crabs which were the rising universal currency.
One could only imagine the sheer number of log messages that had barraged the lion system after so many deaths.
The lion system had been interrupted for a brief moment when Kael’s original body was erased so this did not occur.
The log records for all the deaths were there, but they were not announced to the whole system.
"Where is Father?" Asked a little boy as he touched down on the ground. He was one of Kael’s many sons. He in particular was N’bayé’s second son.
Ozia, now a tall and mighty humanoid male with a muscular stature, descended from the dark sky with an imposing aura.
He was one of the biggest here.
Since he was now a Lion King and not a Prince of the Ol’mytee clan, Burdo had no right to tell him anything.
His status as the first son of the All-King was far higher than Burdo could imagine.
"It’s greater than we imagined," Priya muttered, also dropping down from the sky to the continent.
Soon, every member of Kael’s immediate family was here.
Except N’bayé.
Katari painted her silence. She already knew what had happened to Kael and was mapping out multiple ways to ensure that his plans for the future did not change.
"Where is he?" Victor, one of Kael’s sons and a Lion Prince of the Ol’mytee clan, asked.
"Original Heaven," Ozia said casually as he looked at the now damaged structure of the Apex Pyramid.
"Original Heaven? Where is that?" Alyrat asked.
"I’m yet to find out," Diane said.
Kael didn’t really tell anyone the location of the Heavenly Gate to the Original Heaven even though it was not a secret.
Soon, Kael’s sons and daughters were discussing amongst themselves while Burdo was busy contacting the various kionords still in the mortalverse.
Meanwhile, the consorts of the All-King had started a private telepathic conversation.
"Kael is all alone wherever he is..." Nalii said telepathically while clutching the hem of her gown.
Her green eyes observed the dark abyss that was once the golden skies of the Leonine Heaven. She wondered genuinely how long it would take for this place to recover.
She could feel it again. That feeling of uncleanness that she had only felt when she first entered heaven, when it was still saturated with other powers.
This was it once again, except it was just one power.
"He has asked us to stand in just in case there needs to be an authority figure," Alora said.
She was very fine with that as long as she could confirm that Kael was safe.
"Yes, but who is watching over him there?" Nalii asked the important question.
They were aware of the mechanisms of the Original Heaven and understood just how bad it was to antagonize any random creature there.
"Maybe one of us should go and meet him there?" Eidel suggested.
"But only immortals are allowed to step out..." Memphis said with a frown.
She too was thinking about this.
Kael did not have any support in Original Heaven, it was a foreign land. What if he could not get to the lions of that place on time before he got caught?
"Memphis, any update from Emperor Zain?" Katari, who had been silent all this while, suddenly asked.
Memphis shook her head, "No words. The Draconic Heaven has also been eerily silent. I’m guessing everyone is still busy counting their losses."
That was right, everyone involved had lost a lot.
Even Emperor Zain who had his forces only attacking the Destruction Dragons had also suffered a lot of losses.
The Destruction Dragons had lost a good number of dragons, they had lost a god-level artifact which had already been confiscated by the new Immortals, they had lost Ibadon, and they had lost their Primordial Dragon.
All three factions were extremely vulnerable at this point, now was not the time to continue any attacks.
"Hmm, we shall schedule a visit with him to understand the workings of the Original Heaven better," Katari said.
Memphis raised an eyebrow. The tone with which Katari talked was annoyingly cold and authoritative. Even after so long, all she had in her mind was her beloved and his goals.
"Why?" Memphis asked.
Katari had been looking at the distant remains of the Apex Pyramid then turned her head to look at the Time Lioness Immortal.
"Because the only way we can be useful is if we can continue his work here.
Kael’s original goal was to shatter the constraints of Original Heaven so that the lions there could escape and unite with the rest of the lion civilization.
This was never a guarantee of success, that was why he sent clones. Now, he has no choice but to succeed.
The last thing we should do is chase after him as that wouldn’t help the way you think. Rather, Kael would have to divide his attention to protect our weak selves.
And you know he absolutely despises that.
I don’t know how Kael plans to do it from the inside, but we were already working on a way to do it from the outside."
Speaking to this point, Katari paused to check if they were all paying attention.
They were not standing in some kind of discussion circle. This telepathic conversation was discreet so the consorts were all acting as if they were paying attention to their environments.
"Project Desolate Divine.
An operation focused on the invasion and conquest of other heavenly realms. Memphis should be aware of how it is done.
Without heavenly beacons, the best way we can get into other heavens is to pierce through the Gaps, the ’thing’ that separates the realms and the sections of the universe.
If we can pierce through Gaps, we can definitely tear out a path to the Original Heaven. After all, the Original Heaven is just another overglorified heavenly realm.
That it exists means it can be conquered.
The faster we begin Project Desolate Divine, the faster we can get to Kael..."
As Katari explained, the consorts showed wills of acceptance.
Katari continued, her face solemn and her eyes shining with cold determination, "And from the looks of it, the ancient felines may come knocking on our doors at any moment.
We must not falter in our purpose, pride sisters. Let us turn the lion civilization into a sharp blade that would cut down anything in the path of our beloved.
Just because we are recovering our strength doesn’t mean we should pause The Conquering.
Let many more lions and lionesses die, let more enemies come.
As long as the All-King achieves what he wants, then every sacrifice is worth it."
