Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 175: Now, Come Over and Apply Medicine for Me
When a man has had a life of smooth sailing, constantly put on a pedestal, he eventually grows tired of the loneliness at the top.
No one dared to defy him, and no one dared to oppose him. He had grown weary of such a life.
But then, something interesting happened.
Annabelle Linton, an exception in his life.
He had hated her, despised her, hurt her, admired her, and even possessed her.
She was the one person in his life on whom he had lavished the most varied emotions and attention.
And the one person with whom he had been most patient.
A wicked smile played on Leona Grant’s lips as he leaned languidly against the headboard. The simple movement radiated his inborn, kingly aura.
"You know perfectly well what I want, Annabelle Linton. There’s nothing I want that I can’t get. I’ll allow you to be willful, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t limits. I’d advise you not to oppose me. You’ll only be wasting your energy and asking for trouble."
Annabelle Linton watched him, her face an indifferent mask. "You go on and on about how I should be mindful of my station. If that video gets out, aren’t you afraid of shaming the Grant Family?"
"Of course, it’ll be blurred. Strangers won’t be able to tell who it is, but people who know you—including yourself—will still recognize you. Hmm?"
Annabelle Linton’s brow twitched.
She understood.
Leona Grant was threatening her. If she didn’t do as she was told, he would release the video.
And even if it was blurred so strangers couldn’t recognize her, people she knew still would.
The first person Annabelle thought of was Aaron Wyatt.
She couldn’t bear the thought of appearing as powerless before him as she once had.
Nor did she want him to know about her humiliating marriage to Leona Grant.
Annabelle Linton made her decision in an instant. She looked up, her gaze cold as she met his. "Your terms."
"Heh. Smart girl."
Leona Grant scoffed, his voice laced with a mixture of mockery and anger. At his sides, his hands unconsciously clenched into fists.
’There was no video. He would never release a video!’
’His woman! How could he possibly let everyone see her like that?!’
’See? It was just a small test, and her nervousness and concern were plain to see.’
’Annabelle didn’t seem to care whether a video actually existed. But the moment he mentioned releasing it, her expression changed.’
’If I’m not mistaken, that guy—Aaron Wyatt—doesn’t know we’re married, does he?’
’Judging by Annabelle’s reaction just now, it’s obvious she’s been deliberately hiding it.’
’Damn it!’
’In her eyes, am I that much of an embarrassment?’
’Annabelle Linton, you keep refusing to reveal our relationship... Who exactly are you leaving an opening for?!’
Leona Grant’s eyes swept over her expressionless face, and he felt another surge of anger.
’Just look at her. With me, she always has that same lifeless expression. But it’s a different story with Aaron Wyatt!’
’She smiles with him, goes out with him, eats and chats with him... she even lets him hug her.’
’He suddenly remembered the day he’d taken her. She had fought for her life like some virtuous maiden fending off a brute. The more he thought about it, the more it infuriated him!’
’Annabelle Linton, you really have a knack for pissing me off!’
Leona Grant let out a cold laugh and nodded. "Fine. In that case, you will devote yourself to my care until I’m fully recovered. It’s your job, after all—part of your duties. That shouldn’t be too difficult, now should it? Hmm?"
Annabelle Linton eyed him coolly, saying nothing.
Leona Grant pulled back the blanket, another smile on his lips. "No answer? I’ll take that as a yes. Now, come over and tend to my wound."
