Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 176: Did I Say You Could Leave?
Annabelle’s gaze went cold, and she instantly averted her eyes.
Leona Grant scoffed. "You’ve already used it. What’s the harm in taking a look?"
Annabelle closed her eyes and started to walk out. "I’ll go find a male doctor for you."
"Stop—"
Leona Grant’s deep-set eyes narrowed coldly.
He’d been in the hospital for two days. For the first two, the swelling had been horrific. He rejected everyone’s help, applying the medicine himself.
He wouldn’t even let Chase, who had been with him for so long, help him, let alone anyone else.
Leona Grant watched Annabelle coolly, a deliberate smirk playing on his lips. "No need. I... want *you*, Dr. Linton, to apply my medicine."
Annabelle’s eyes narrowed dangerously as she glared at him. "I truly regret not taking a pair of scissors to you that morning," she said through gritted teeth.
He shot her a vicious glare. "Do you think you’d still be alive if you had? You’re a smart woman. You would have done it already if you could have gotten away with it."
"That’s why I’m now regretting my moment of sanity!"
"You should be thankful for that moment of sense. Otherwise, you’d be dead by now!"
"Fine by me. As long as I can kill an animal like you, I’ll consider it a public service. I’d die with no regrets!"
Annabelle slammed the medical file in her hand onto the floor and stormed out of the hospital room.
Leona Grant’s eyes flashed with a dangerous light. "Stop right there! Did I say you could leave—" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
SLAM— The only answer he received was the deafening sound of the door slamming shut.
"You!"
Leona Grant was so furious he almost choked. ’That woman must have a death wish! How dare she slam the door on me!’
’Did I say she could leave?’
’Did I let her go?!’
Leona Grant was still fuming, wondering how to force her to come back, when the door was kicked open.
Annabelle came back in, pushing a cart loaded with medication and other supplies. Her expression was grim.
She pushed the cart right up to him, put on a pair of gloves, and began sorting through the medical supplies.
Leona Grant watched Annabelle. ’So she came back to treat me after all.’
Watching her skillfully arrange the medical supplies, Leona Grant found himself mesmerized.
He sized up the woman before him. ’She’s actually not bad at all...’
Annabelle was tall and slender. While the average woman stood at five-foot-five, she was a good five-foot-seven.
She wasn’t the voluptuous type, but she exuded an untamable wildness, a defiant pride, an aloofness, and a chilling coldness.
Other women’s sex appeal came from their clothes and makeup, but hers emanated from a languor deep in her bones and the unflappable calm in her eyes.
Many women liked to argue and cause a scene to make their presence known, believing that playing to the gallery was the only way to get more attention.
But Annabelle was the type of person who could draw every eye in the room just by being silent, aloof, and utterly disinterested in everything around her.
She possessed a rare element of tranquility, the kind of grace and composure one might display as a mountain crumbles before them. It was as if nothing in the world was worthy of her attention or capable of making her panic.
And yet, it was precisely this solitary pride that stoked a man’s desire to conquer, making her utterly irresistible.
And on top of that, she carried an air of detachment, an ethereal quality that suggested she was above worldly affairs. This only added fuel to the fire, creating an aura that made one want to retreat in awe—an inviolable, peerless beauty.
She was a woman who embodied pride, stunning beauty, and solitary loneliness all at once.
"Ngh!"
Just as Leona Grant was lost in thought, a sharp pain shot through his groin—a pain even more intense than the day she’d doused him with medicated oil!
He looked down and saw Annabelle holding an incredibly long, thick syringe, injecting him right *there*!
