Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 126: together in hatred
"Samuel!"
Samuel was startled when the firm voice called his name, prompting him to immediately get up and slowly stand, gripping the bars of the somewhat dim prison cell. He saw the policeman in blue opening the door with a key, making him wonder if he was going to be released.
"Someone wants to see you," the policeman said.
"Who?" Samuel asked.
"Maybe your lover," the policeman replied, quickly opening the door.
Samuel stepped out and let the policeman close and lock the door again, then he walked towards the visitation room not far from the cell location. He walked down the dimly lit corridor, so quiet, and cold, until he finally arrived at the visitation room and saw Hannah getting up from her seat as soon as she saw him.
’I thought you didn’t care about me anymore,’ he thought to himself.
"Sit down, make use of the time you have, you only have about 20 minutes," the policeman said before leaving and closing the door.
Samuel sighed, then sat down in the chair, facing Hannah who also sat down. He suddenly felt awkward and ashamed, unable to look at her, especially now that his body looked skinny and unkempt, possibly a bit smelly because he rarely bathed.
"I didn’t expect you to be in this situation," Hannah said with a sad look as if she felt sorry for Samuel’s condition. "If only you had listened to me to stop obsessing over Valerie, maybe you wouldn’t end up like this," she continued with regret.
"Yeah ... It’s my fault, I ruined my own life. I’m stupid, and you could laugh at me now," Samuel replied, still looking down.
Hannah fell silent again, looking at Samuel, who was the father of her baby, wondering what would happen if he continued to be imprisoned. Perhaps it would also give their child a bad image, but she also hesitated to set him free.
"Why did you come?" Samuel asked. "Don’t you want our relationship to end?"
"I want to, but God has other plans," Hannah whispered.
"What?"
"I’m pregnant..."
Instantly, Samuel was stunned, staring into Hannah’s gray eyes reflecting his disheveled and miserable appearance.
"It’s your baby ... Because I’ve never been with anyone else but you," Hannah explained. "You might not believe it because you thought I was using the birth control pills you provided... It’s my stupidity. I was obsessed with you. I didn’t want you to leave me because I didn’t think you would end up here... I didn’t take those pills," she continued angrily, looking away.
Samuel was silent.
"Now I’ve ruined my own life because I was obsessed with you, just like your obsession with Valerie ruined you," Hannah said again. "It’s hard... I have to leave because I don’t want her to know I’m pregnant... It’s embarrassing! Especially since I like it there... Now, whether I like it or not, I have to ask you to take responsibility. Even if you don’t want this baby, it’s still your child. You have to think about its future!" she said firmly.
Samuel smiled faintly, then shrugged. "If I weren’t here, I’d gladly do it. I mean... I love babies... But how can I take responsibility? Do you want me to marry you? We might get married, but then I’ll be back in jail... It will only burden you more..."
"I have a lot of money from Damian," Hannah said before Samuel finished speaking. "I can use it to free you... And maybe I’ll use myself as collateral," she continued.
Samuel was silent, not expecting Hannah to do that even though she seemed to hate him.
"I’ll convince the police... But we have to have an agreement," Hannah said, then took out a neatly folded sheet of paper and handed it to Samuel.
Samuel was silent, reading the writing on the paper.
With all my awareness, I will accept the truth with some conditions;
-Live in Arizona with Hannah
-Marry her without plans for divorce
-Not try to meet Valerie
-Never harm Hannah
-Never betray her with Valerie or any other girl
-Be willing to work to meet the needs of living together
-Agreement not to engage in criminal activities like before or even others.
-Will not be able to divorce Hannah without her approval.
If I violate the above conditions, Hannah has the power or right to imprison me again.
"The conditions I’m giving you will also make you happy... Those are things you shouldn’t do because they will also get you in trouble," Hannah said with a flat look.
Samuel bit his lower lip, still focusing on the terms of the paper.
"To be honest, I’m doing this not because I still love you very much or want to have you... It’s all purely for the future of our child," Hannah said again. "And of course, your freedom..."
Samuel looked at Hannah again, suddenly imagining her as his wife and giving him freedom, delicious food, and a comfortable room, surely everything would be better than languishing in the dirty prison and feeling hungry every day and then having to eat leftover food.
"How?" Hannah asked.
"I’ll do this... I’m doing this not just because of the baby... But because I want to respect you as the only girl who loved me even though you know I’m very bad," Samuel said, bowing his head, showing a sad look.
"I don’t love you anymore," Hannah replied bluntly.
Samuel sighed, suddenly feeling hurt, and frustrated, but had to hold back his emotions.
"Yeah... I know that my behavior disgusts you..."
Hannah stood up when she saw the policeman coming.
"Times up," the policeman said.
"I’ll meet a lawyer, I’ll try to free you," Hannah said, then took the sheet of paper and put it in her bag.
Samuel also stood up, watching Hannah leave as if she didn’t care about him anymore, as if she didn’t love him anymore.
’If it weren’t for wanting to be free, I wouldn’t want to be with you anymore!’ he thought angrily.
"Hey!" the policeman called.
Samuel snapped out of his reverie, immediately approaching the policeman and walking back to the prison cell.
...
At the mansion, Damian was relaxing while enjoying a cigarette and a cup of coffee on the terrace, while Valerie and Daniel were having dinner with Adriana and Eduardo who had arrived a few hours ago.
"Hey."
Damian glanced at Eduardo who came from the living room, then sat down in the chair next to him by the table.
"Bro," Damian greeted.
"What are your plans after this?" Eduardo asked, taking a cigarette from Damian’s box and lighting it with the gas lighter available there.
"Of course, going back to work... What else?"
"That’s good... But... I heard your company is trying to find new clients because Mr. Adam is not working with your company anymore and even some of your clients have decided not to be involved with the company anymore."
"Yeah... But that’s not a bad thing," Damian said casually. "I’m not afraid to face them because they’re very unprofessional... And many other companies are still interested in working with my company... It’s not a problem for me," he continued with a thin smile.
Eduardo nodded. "But I will try to help. I will convince my big boss to collaborate with your company."
"You don’t have to do that..."
"No... I will do it," Eduardo insisted. "Your father always thought that the Valeri family couldn’t bring any benefits to yours... I will try to change that perception by finding new clients for you, even Adriana can do it."
"You don’t have to do that, Bro... please don’t."
"I’m sure about my decision," Eduardo raised his eyebrows, then flicked the cigarette ash into the ashtray on the table. "Don’t feel awkward about it. I know you’re wealthy, but that doesn’t mean you won’t need help from anyone. All this trouble happened because you fought for your love for Valerie."
Damian smiled thinly, slowly nodding his head as his gaze fell on the newly arrived black car.
"Hans," he murmured.
"Valerie said he’s on leave," Eduardo replied.
"Yeah..." Damian stood up and then greeted Hans on the short steps leading to the yard. "Hans."
Hans smiled awkwardly, appearing nervous.
"I want to meet Hannah, I want to spend time with her tonight," he said.
Damian furrowed his brow, looking at Hans, who seemed cooler than usual with neatly trimmed hair and a gray suit with a black coat, even smelling better than usual. "Didn’t she tell you that she resigned today?"
"Resigned?"
"Yeah... She doesn’t work with us anymore," Damian explained anxiously. "I don’t know why she wanted to resign suddenly... I thought you knew about this since you’ve been quite close to her lately..."
Hans immediately shook his head with a disappointed look.
"I had no idea... I tried contacting her several times but she didn’t respond, so I came here," he said.
Damian fell silent, looking sympathetically at Hans, who seemed hopeful to get closer to Hannah, even thinking that his reason for leaving was to spend time with her.
"So, she’s not here now?" Hans asked.
"No... she’s not here."
"Oh my God..." Hans smiled bitterly, turning his gaze away, imagining Hannah. ’She left so quickly, without even saying anything to me. Am I not important to her at all? Does she not see my feelings towards her as a sign that I want her? Maybe she never really cared about me?’
"Hans?" Damian called.
"Um... Alright." Hans looked back at Damian with a thin smile. "Then I’ll go..." He left quickly before Damian could respond.
Damian furrowed his brow, feeling that there was something strange between Hans and Hannah.
’What is this? Could it be that Hannah resigned to avoid Hans? But why would she avoid him? I thought they were interested in each other?’
