Seed of Titan-Chapter 106: A Battle Royal
Tamara’s neck was suddenly grabbed from behind. Her hands naturally latched onto the gripping hand, trying to pry his hand off her neck. But instead of loosening, the hand grew bigger and clenched tighter, choking her.
Drai didn’t even fully transform, stopping at three times his size. Knowing that Tamara was a caster, Drai was quite sure that the woman’s physical stats would not be able to match his triple strength. His large hand now wrapped around Tamara’s lower face and neck, covering her mouth and nose. He only needed his ring finger and pinky to completely strangle her neck.
Tamara was fighting with all her might, digging her nails into Drai’s fingers and kicking him with her heels. But no matter how much she struggled, Drai’s grip remained firm.
Drai stood up, lifted Tamara, and turned her around. She was now dangling right in front of his large face.
Tamara’s eyes widened in horror upon facing the transformed Drai. She mustered all her mana and waved her hands, casting multiple spells at Drai and sending streams of colorful smoke in the process, which quickly enveloped Drai’s head.
Numerous visions immediately filled Drai’s mind as his eyes became heavy. He saw a scene from his childhood where he was sitting down in his living room, watching his favorite show. This sparked an overwhelming sense of elation within him.
Simultaneously, his parents’ dismembered figures were sprawling on the floor. Their bloodied heads were staring at him creepily while their disfigured mouths whispered his name, horrifying him.
A second later, Drai’s head cleared up once more. He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at Tamara annoyedly.
"I don’t know how you can still use your spells, but they’re useless against me."
Hearing Drai’s words, Tamara’s hands instantly fell limp. She knew Drai wasn’t lying since she could actually sense it if her spell had taken effect. Even now, she was maintaining the tranquilized state of the many professors whom she had sent to sleep earlier.
"You know, although I defeated a couple of your friends, I wasn’t bent on killing you guys. After all, the ones I encountered were only trying to capture us. But now I realize you guys don’t deserve any mercy," Drai coldly said while glancing at Jack and Samara who were lying dead near his feet.
Tears began to fill Tamara’s eyes as she felt Drai’s fingers tightening. An immense pressure hurt her jaw, and it was impossible for her to breathe.
"And for your information, Paul had already been killed by me. So give him my regards when you meet him."
Tamara desperately pleaded with her eyes, but it was too late.
Drai fully clenched his right fist, ruthlessly crushing Tamara’s neck along with half of her face. Blood and bits of flesh and bones squirted between his fingers, spraying across the floor.
Drai flung Tamara’s body away, sending the corpse flying into the rubble at the mansion’s rear. He then deactivated his skill and grabbed a piece of cloth near the pantry to wipe his bloodied hand.
Meanwhile, Ravi’s snores slowly subsided until they completely stopped. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Ugh..." Ravi moaned as his eyes opened. He soon realized his awkward pose and quickly propped himself up.
Rubbing his numb cheek, the professor confusedly remarked, "What the hell... Was I really asleep just now?"
"Yes, Professor. You were hit by Tamara’s spell. Are you fine?" Drai said, making his way toward Ravi after wiping his hand clean.
"Yes, I think I’m fine..." Ravi replied after briefly inspecting his own condition. He then asked, "Who’s Tamara? Is she the girl who barged in here earlier?"
"Yes."
"So she can tranquilize people, huh? Interesting... Anyway, what happened to her?"
Drai pointed at the piles of rubble at the distance and said, "I killed her."
Ravi took a glance in the direction that Drai was pointing at. He couldn’t see the young woman’s body, but he didn’t doubt Drai’s statement. He knew the boy wasn’t someone who would make things up.
After a moment of hesitation, he turned to Drai and asked, "Have you killed before, boy?"
"Yeah. Didn’t you see me killing Paul earlier?" Drai said, slightly tilting his head in confusion.
"Yes, but not that—I mean, have you ever killed a human prior to this whole incident?"
"I don’t think so," Drai replied. He recalled that he nearly killed James during their spar, but aside from that, he didn’t think he ever hurt anyone that badly, let alone kill them.
"Then how could you be so calm?" Ravi asked. From his experience, people were usually shocked after killing another human for the first time. Some of them would even develop a trauma, which usually ended up inhibiting their development since they often became apprehensive of using their own powers.
"Oh. I think it’s because of my skill," Drai answered. He proceeded to describe Titan’s Fortitude to the professor. Drai also told him about the few instances at which Drai believed this particular skill had activated and helped him, including the previous moment when he resisted Tamara’s spells.
’So I was right. He did have a skill to help him withstand the agonizing procedure,’ Ravi thought after listening to Drai’s explanation.
"Thanks for the insight, boy. Now I understand why you’re rarely fazed. Anyway, pick up Jack and Samara. We need to hurry and reach Zar," Ravi instructed.
Drai nodded and gently lifted the two bodies, putting them on his shoulders once more. Following this, the two finally headed out with Ravi leading the way.
After a few minutes of fast walking, Ravi stopped to rest. Panting quite heavily, he took out a bottle of water from his dimensional storage and leaned against a nearby lamp post.
"Shit... I really need to exercise more," the professor remarked after gulping down his water. He wiped the pouring sweat on his face and put away his bottle before signaling at Drai to continue their journey.
After another ten minutes or so, the two were approaching the professors’ residential complex. And it was at this moment that they finally heard the muffled commotions coming from ahead.
Perking up his ears, Drai commented, "Are the professors fighting?"
"I think so. Let’s go help them, boy!" Ravi ordered as he began to sprint, followed closely by Drai.
"You shouldn’t get too close, Professor," Drai advised as they rushed toward the complex.
"Huff... I know..." Ravi mumbled amidst his heavy panting.
Soon, the two arrived at the residential complex. What greeted them was the sight of countless people clashing all over the place. Colorful flashes were constantly lighting up the surrounding darkness.
"I’ll stay here... Huff... Now go," Ravi ordered.
"What about Uncle Jack and Professor Samara?" Drai asked, glancing at the lifeless bodies on his shoulders.
Ravi clenched his teeth and said, "Forgive me, you two." He then touched Jack’s and Samara’s bodies, sending them to his dimensional storage.
Drai was stunned. Only now did he realize that human bodies could be stored in a dimensional storage—as long as they’re dead.
"Go!" Ravi loudly urged, which jolted Drai awake from his stupor.
Drai immediately dashed toward the closest group of people. After Drai left, Ravi quickly hid behind a wall, watching the commotion from a distance.
Despite the relatively dark condition, Drai could easily differentiate the two parties due to the intruders’ familiar dark robes.
’I hope there won’t be anymore spies...’ Drai inwardly remarked, feeling that the situation would get a lot more complicated if there really were more moles.
Drai activated Colossal Augmentation, limiting it at five times his size.
’I’ll adjust it later if I need more power,’ Drai thought as he pounced at the small group ahead of him.
"Give up, heretics! Zar’s demise is set!" a robed woman with a large frame shouted. She was brutally bashing her two big hammers against a similarly large man, who was defending with bare hands. The large woman seemed to have the upper hand, as her opponent was quickly pushed back.
Suddenly, a boulder-sized fist slammed against her side, crushing her arm and sending her spinning in the air until she finally crashed into a building.
"Dahlia!" the two robed men nearby cried out. They wanted to check on her, but they were currently embroiled in a battle.
"Thanks!" the large professor said to Drai. He wondered who this giant person was, but he had no time to ask as he quickly leaped to the side to help his colleague.
Drai also dashed and punched at one of the two robed men nearby, but this time his opponent was able to dodge his attack by jumping backward.
"Who the fuck are you?!" the robed man questioned as he landed a few yards away.
Drai didn’t feel the need to answer and leaped forward instead with a raised fist.
"Don’t get cocky!" the opponent barked. He then roared and rapidly grew bigger, tearing his robe apart in the process. A second later, he had grown three times taller and his bare body was completely covered in green pointy scales.
