Chapter 83: The Peacock’s Declaration

The pillar of light peacefully surrounded the peacock, reaching a height of four metres where it touched the ceiling of the mine tunnel. The peacock was only as large as its kind on Earth, its appearance wasn’t any different either.

It was seated with a laidback attitude, calmly eyeing Torq’s direction to speak after a few seconds of silence, "Maybe you need some motivation to come out."

The peacock fanned out its feathers and coolly wriggled its rear once. In one swift motion, its fan of feathers gently brushed through Bitala’s hip and cleanly severed the portion.

"No!" Torq rushed out in his Empyrean Snapper form and opened his mouth to reveal the charged up needle within.

The needle swooshed forward and punctured through Bitala’s lower half that was sent flying in its path. And then, it stopped.

"You...bastard!" Torq cursed in anger as Bitala’s lower half was vaporised by his attack. And irritatingly so, the peacock had hid behind Bitala’s upper half. It had enough speed to outmanoeuvre Torq’s needle, ensuring to use Bitala as a shield.

"Are you afraid?" Torq lost his cool and hollered, "You don’t have the balls to face me, huh? HUH?"

"The brat’s angry," The peacock chortled and landed on the floor, moving forward like a chicken while making unnecessary pecking motions, as if to taunt the other party, "Kids these days,"

Soil gathered around the Empyrean Snapper’s head and hardened to form a heavy sphere. And then, using its ten-metre-long neck like a whip, Torq lashed his head on the peacock while his needle flew in from behind, targeting the peacock with a pincer attack.

The peacock paid attention to the needle and pecked at it with its beak, appearing to collide with it head on. However, at the last moment, it curled its head to the side, like a serpent brushing past the needle without any contact.

Its entire body behaved like a serpent and fluidly evaded the needle attack. And then, Torq’s head smashed it into the ground.

Primary Nature–Subtle Terrain Domination!

"Damn...fucker!" One, twice, thrice, Torq lifted his Empyrean Snapper head and kept slamming into the ground repeatedly, doing pretty much zero damage to the peacock that was grinning towards him while perfectly imprinted into the ground.

’I need to summon him here!’ Without hesitation, Torq compressed the ground and trapped the peacock within. In an instant, he leapt as far back as he could in the moment’s time he had bought, reverted to his Clansman form, and hurriedly created a coral container.

Primary Nature–Gentle Coral Dominance!

The cylinder had a nozzle in its end while its inside was filled with highly pressurised steam. Grooves and winds appeared on its form to aid in its stabilisation as Torq threw it using his psychokinesis.

And the instant the whitish fluid forming the container hardened into Gentle Coral, he activated it, causing the steam within to eject out in the form of a thrust and propel the container through the air, ’Take...flight!’

"That’s a shame!" There was a flash, followed by a pillar of light that spread its width and covered the tunnel, enveloping the container within it. The container’s form distorted and before it could truly take flight, was exploded.

"I wanted our conversation to be private." The peacock emerged out of the ground, acting as if it had faced zero resistance. It then fanned its feathers once again and severed Bitala’s left arm. Not a single drop of blood leaked out following its attack.

The limb was cleanly separated, and in its wake, the portion where it had been attached to now had clean skin growing. However, the air wasn’t growing back, even though Bitala’s Prana had gathered at the socket and was trying its best.

"Now, calm down." The peacock landed on Bitala’s head and poised its feathers towards his right arm, "I will sever his right arm next if you continue to wail aloud as you’re doing."

’D-Damnit!’ Torq was in a fluster, unable to handle the level of emotions he was feeling at the moment, ’I...I should regress! NOW!’

"Whatever you intend to do, I suggest you wait." The peacock said as its feathers reached Bitala’s forehead, gently making contact, "Otherwise, I’ll fully destroy your vessel."

"Since you’re borrowing my power to make such an elaborate plan, I’m sure you’re aware that I’m stating the truth." The peacock calmly shrugged, "Well, I never had to lie in my life, since I am pretty strong."

"Hear me out, before you resume your tantrum." The peacock retracted its feathers, perched comfortably over Bitala’s head and stared down upon Torq, "You know, it has been a while since anyone managed to injure me, much less weaken me."

"You’re the only one belonging to the latter." The peacock seemed to be speaking as calmly as possible. However, its words were laced with venom, "When you regressed, you made me lose all the power I accumulated in the past 78 million years. Truly, the damn brat I underestimated the most ended up screwing me the highest."

’Regressed?’ Torq shuddered at the term used by the peacock, ’How does...!’

"I remember everything I witnessed in the original timeline." The peacock snorted, "You’ve used my power to fuel your regression. It’s not surprising I’m aware of the cause that consumed my power."

’Dammit!’ Torq was at a loss for words, feeling his body turn cold, like ice as he voiced out in despair, "How? You weren’t supposed to know about it."

"Seems you don’t understand my power as well as you claim to." The peacock said in derision, "I receive feedback through my power in real-time. So, when you used my power to fuel your regression, I received the original timeline’s memories through the feedback."

"I know whatever I do won’t change things in the grand scheme of things, since you’ll keep regressing like a rat." The peacock commented, "So, I decided to change my approach this time."

"The Boar, the Zinger, and especially you, the Brat," The peacock announced, "To the three of you that have given me the most headaches, I promise this,"

Its form collapsed to reveal three quills harmoniously revolving around each other that promptly shattered and dissipated, leaving behind a set of words, "I’ll screw your lives to the extent, your mind won’t be able to endure another regression."

"Struggle as much as you can, until you cannot anymore." The tunnel mildly trembled as the pillar of light vanished, "And once you’ve given up, come prostrate yourself before me,"

"As I take my time consuming Sumatra."
