The Billionaire Can't Escape His Shameless Heiress Wife!-Chapter 7: Ten-Million-Dollar Necklace
That only made everyone silent.
Vanessa choked as she knew exactly what Isabella was referring to. Because of her momentary blindness, she completely forgot about why her father had been so angry with her!
"This..." Vanessa gulped down.
"Don’t worry about it, Isabella. My daughter was just confused. You can take the necklace. And that’s final." Bard intercepted before his daughter could continue. He knew that if he left Vanessa continue, it would only make Isabella suspicious of them.
Besides, what was a necklace compared to fooling Isabella?
If that necklace could distract her and make her deaf and blind to the affair of his daughter and Edward, Bard would give it up to her. Then, he could fix the problem and push through the engagement!
Even if Isabella heard about those rumors, Bard would have already done something to change the narration. Instead, he would spin another story. He would make it so that another couple would be found!
It was never his daughter and Edward!
With this thought, Bard patted Isabella’s hand that was on top of the table with a reassuring smile. Due to his glee over the fact that he could still continue with his plan without a problem, he didn’t notice the revulsion that flashed across Isabella’s eyes. Or the fact that she flinched, wishing that she could fling that hand away.
Isabella held back that urge as soon as it appeared. Her breathing hitched up for a bit before it returned to normal and its steady rhythm. Deep inside, she had already flipped the table countless times and ripped their fake smiles.
"Then, don’t mind if I take it." Isabella smiled sweetly, tilting her head to the side while her gaze met Vanessa’s glaring ones.
They continued their meal. But despite the slight ease in tension, only one person continued to have a wonderful meal. As for the three, they remained gloomy-faced and silent throughout the period.
Since it was almost 9 in the morning, the group finally ended their breakfast.
While Carla and Bard had left to go to the company and meet their friends. Vanessa still sat on her chair.
At this moment, Isabella also stood up and was on her way to leave. She usually didn’t eat a lot, but she felt full anyway.
She even deliberately took the path where Vanessa’s chair was located, flaunting the brocade box that kept the necklace inside in front of her.
As she passed her by, Vanessa abruptly stood up and shouted, "Wait!"
Isabella halted her steps. "What is it?"
"Give it back to me."
"Why? Uncle and Auntie said it’s mine." Isabella innocently blinked her eyes. "But if you still think it’s yours... why don’t we let Uncle decide?"
"You..." Vanessa shut her lips, unable to form a reply.
Isabella narrowed her eyes into slits and smiled, taking joy in seeing Vanessa’s dilemma. Yet, when others see her smile like this, it only makes them feel she is a decent child with a bright and innocent smile. Not someone who had sly ideas and a disguise.
Placing both her hands on the backrest of Vanessa’s chair, she leaned close to whisper in her ear, "By the way, this time you picked something worth taking."
Vanessa bit her lip as she fought hard to keep herself from pushing the table away and slapping Isabella’s face.
Even if she did that, Isabella had already left when Vanessa finally released her breath.
She still couldn’t understand why Isabella didn’t reveal that she was one of the eyewitnesses who saw her and Edward last night.
Vanessa was even questioning whether last night ever happened. Did Isabella really come and see them? She had taken several glasses of wine last night, and it might have been due to this that she imagined Isabella being there.
However, she shook these thoughts away. Edward had also seen Isabella.
Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was happening.

Outside the mansion, Carla and Bard, who were on their way out, sat inside the back of the Rolls Royce car.
They hadn’t spoken a word since they left the dining room, feeling drained even before they could start with their daily activities.
As minutes had gone by without a sound, Carla finally snapped the delicate quietness.
"Give me your credit card."
"What?" Bard turned to his wife with a frown. "Didn’t I get you a new one last time?"
"It already exceeded its limit. It won’t allow me to buy anything!" Carla replied with irritation.
However, Bard appeared even more confused. "Exceeded the limit? That credit card has a ten-million-dollar limit! How the hell did you even spend all of it when I gave it to you two months ago!"
"It’s in that bitch’s hand!" Carla lost all her patience and rationality in front of her husband as she yelled in exasperation.
She felt her energy seeping out of her, her soul extracted from her body as she couldn’t help but think of the necklace that was taken from her.
Bard momentarily didn’t get what his wife had just said. He didn’t even register the vulgar wording Carla called Isabella. In the past, he would give her a disapproving look, but now, he couldn’t even utter a word.
Te—ten million?
"You spent ten million for a necklace?!!" Bard finally reacted, even belatedly. His eyes widened in shock and also in disbelief at the exorbitant price his wife had to pay for that damn necklace.
Ten million dollars... it was spent so easily on one necklace!
Just thinking about how he could buy new properties or company shares with that money... Bard’s eyes turned bloodshot. His desire to kill instantly appeared.
"You said I can spend it however I want." Carla reeled back as she realized her mistake. "Besides, I bought it for Vanessa. She needed it more now that she had entered high society. A little price must be paid so she can integrate with the others much better."
"Then, what about now?" Bard’s nose enlarged, and steam would even come out of it as he tried so hard to calm down. Finally, he closed his eyes and asked, "Can you still cancel the payment?"
Since it was bought using a credit card, perhaps they could still salvage it by returning the necklace. As for how they would take the necklace from Isabella, Bard and Carla could think of many other ways.
Sharing the same thoughts as her husband, Carla instantly beamed. "No. Although it has been a week since the transaction and the necklace was delivered, the bank would need a month before they could transfer the money to Aureve! Husband, we can still get the ten million back!"
Bard nodded. "We just have to find a way to get it back. Quick, find a maid who has quick hands. This week, we have to get it back."
Carla asked, "Why this week? Why shouldn’t we take it today?"
"It can’t be today." Bard shook his head and explained, "Isabella might become suspicious of us. At least let her admire it for a few days. When the time is right, we can take it. Then, if she starts looking for it, we can get a maid to take the fall for it. It would appear more natural like this, and she wouldn’t pursue it anymore."
"But what if she asked for a replacement?" Carla hesitated.
Bard thought for a second before taking out his credit card. "Buy a new one for her and Vanessa. This time, don’t make any mistakes."
