Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 324 Preparation for midterms
[Lucy’s POV: ]
"Apologies for being late, everyone. We had this little-"
"Yeah yeah. You were making out in some corner, we can tell already. Do a better job of straightening your clothes and hair next time."
Leon and Lily were the last ones to arrive, but thankfully, they weren’t too late.
"So, now that everyone is here, let us start."
Our exams were coming and though we were pretty prepared for them already, we had to prepare for the practical tests that we were informed of this morning.
"Where’s brother Lucy though?"
"He went back to the dorms to cook some lunch. Don’t worry though, he will be back soon."
"Oh?"
Cathy and Rex, Lux and Ras, Ock, Lily and Leon, and Nessy were with me in a special area of the Winter garden, a deep cave that was completely covered in ice from the outside while the inside of this place was nothing less than a unique garden.
’They were surprised to see this special place since they weren’t expecting anything like this to exist in the winter garden that most of the students avoided most of the time because of the extreme cold and ice.’
There was grass all around us, the cave was vast, there were some flowers and herbs around us as well.
It was a cool place, and, since we’re here for the practice, the high ceiling, the large area, the solid ground, and atmosphere of this place makes it one of the best training areas available in the academy.
"How do you two find these kinds of places when I haven’t even seen you going around the school? Do you just know about them or is there someone that tells you about these places?"
Lux was the most stunned person among them right now since even she had never known about a place like this.
"First it was that special room and now this... you never stop surprising us, hun?"
She was one of the few genuine explorers of this academy who had gone around all kinds of places and had found places that the other students did not even know about.
She even discovered some of the most interesting places of the academy and was one of the few in the history of this world to have found them.
’She didn’t tell us about those places though, but we knew about them already so we knew she knew about them as well.’
But still, the academy was a big place with six gardens that contained many places that were still hidden even from us.
’There were places that we did not know about and there were places that we were still searching for, but this one wasn’t one of them.’
Even though it was hidden well within the garden, a few other students and teachers already knew about this place.
There were some previous batch students who had been here and used this place in their time as well, but, perhaps we were the first students from our batch to have come here.
"I’m glad you like this place and all, but we aren’t here for sightseeing, remember?"
"Right... we have to prepare for the exams, haaaa... why did they have to ask practical demonstrations for the questions that they had only taught us as theories anyway."
Nes did not like the way they were going to do it.
It wasn’t fair for many of the students who were only good with theoretical knowledge and not the practical part of it.
It wasn’t fair with the students who were good with practical parts either since converting the theoretical knowledge into the practical one without any kind of help was not something as easy as it sounded.
She knew just how difficult this exam was going to be for the others and she wanted to help them, tell them about the test and do something about it.
’However, I had to stop her and tell her that we weren’t allowed to tell the others about the test details since it was against the academy rules.’
She did not like how the others would have a disadvantage and that they might have to lose many of the points just because of them.
It wasn’t fair and there was no equality in this scenario either, so, even if she had to break the rules, she wanted to help the others even a little bit.
’So, to fulfil her wish, I just spread the information or more like a rumour about the test and now, everyone in the academy was talking about it.’
She was happy thanks to that, and even though it was still not perfectly fine with her, she at least wasn’t that worried about the exams.
Though, she herself had no idea what she would have to do or how she was going to pass the tests, so, along with her, we gathered the rest of them for a special exam training.
"It’s fine, it’s fine. If your great Auriel is here, what do you have to worry about~?"
The world was still dealing with the effects of that epic but since the academy was a separate space, the students here had mostly forgotten about the thieves and the epic.
"You sure are confident, hun?"
The exams were on our heads as well, so they practically had no time to waste after useless things anyway.
"Of course I am. Well, I already know what you all are here to learn, so I would obviously be confident."
There was a good amount of things that they could learn before the exams but, since we don’t have too long, we are going to focus on the things that would be useful to them when fighting threats like the demonic humans.
"Alright, anyway. Let’s begin with the weapon theory."
"Weapon theory?"
-Oooooooooong.
Turning my special weapon into twin swords, something that surprised the weapon wielders presents here, I swung the two swords in a way only a proficient swordsman was capable of.
"...?"
"...!"
"You don’t use your swords much, but since you’re using them right now, it seems like there really is something special to learn here, hun?"
Nes already knew that I was a twin sword user.
The rest of them knew it as well but since they have never seen me using swords, they must have forgotten the fact that magic wasn’t the only thing I was good at.
"Miss Auriel?"
Even
Ras and Lux were stunned when they saw me swing the two swords like a perfect swordsman who had decades of experience with their weapons.
"Don’t be that surprised. I can use the weapons as well."
Magic was my main weapon but physical weapons like swords, whips, hammers, scythes, or even unconventional weapons weren’t anything new to me.
"Let’s start with the basics first."
Perhaps a few of them were surprised by how the weapon materialised in my hands out of nowhere, but since they were smart people that knew about artifacts, they didn’t take long to figure out these swords were unique artifacts.
"The most basic quest that we would be asked about a weapon would be simply about our point of view on what a weapon is. And, the answer to that question would be subjective."
I demonstrated a few attractive looking moves to get their attention back to me and when they were perfectly focused on me, I called my Mana.
"It doesn’t matter if you are a mage, a weapon user, a singer, a dancer, an alchemist, or even just a normal human being.
Everyone has their own understanding of some certain concepts, so when we have to talk about the weapons, or anything related to them, the one thing that we would have to keep in mind would be how we perceive that said weapon."
Using my materialised Mana, I created a few more swords around me and turned the
Mana filled atmosphere into something that intimidated Lily and Oak.
"For a weapon wielded, a weapon is the weapon they use or the weapon they are most proficient with.
For a mage, their own magic is a weapon.
For a artist, their understanding of the world and how they represent it through their art... the emotions, and feelings that could not be conveyed through words, that is their weapon.
While for a normal human being, the ignorance, the lack of knowledge that results in an overall increase in bliss of life... a simple life where they could be happier than special individuals like us, that very ignorance is their weapon."
But they wouldn’t know that either, ironically.
-Oooooooooong. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
For me, magic was my main weapon, the physical swords were my secondary weapons, while the knowledge and wisdom I possessed were my primary weapons that helped me get through the everyday life of this world.
"So, what is a weapon according to you?"
I showed them a little dance with my two swords as well as the Mana swords that weren’t that special.
I didn’t use actual magic swords in this demonstration and only the simple normal swords, and still, the expression they had was something completely unexpected.
[ "You dummy... what were you expecting from them? Praise? Appreciation? You’ve gotten stronger after the Epic, Miss.
You might think what you just did was normal, but it most certainly was nowhere near the realm of normal." ]
Lucy was standing right behind them, though I did not sense him coming here.
Which was certainly strange since we instinctively know when we are around one another, but the stranger thing was what he just said.
[ "Now what do you mean by that?" ]
He was saying I did something that wasn’t normal, but, what exactly was special about showing this simple demonstration?
[ "You dumb girl... look around you." ]
He walked forward toward us with a sigh and a helpless expression after telling me that, and his words had confused me so I looked around.
’Oh...’
And when I did, I understood what he was talking about.
