"You know... the demonic humans might also be behind this shit."

"Why leave the possibility that a demonic noble was directly involved, hun? Oh, let’s just assume some bastard out there managed to summon a demon in this world, how about that?"

Night of the twin moonlight, a canopy of starry sky above us.

The night was young as we lay there in the balcony of our dorm, a serene tranquillity filling the air, giving the cool breeze of the now calm night a pleasant smell of its own.

"A demon’s involvement isn’t impossible if we consider the possibility of some absurd butterfly effect that we caused.

There’s even a chance that some god or Angel was involved by that logic as well, but then again, even though there are a number of jealous bastards out there wanting to get what we have, they shouldn’t be powerful or influential enough to do something in this world, right?"

The incident we had a few days ago, the appearance of Blue death was something completely unexpected.

’We have never dealt with that epidemic when we were still in this world in the game.’

In the first place, this virus was something artificial and was created during a blunder by some mad scientist from the (Interstellar truth federation).

It was a dangerous thing that caused Mana inside any individual that had a certain kind of Mana sensitivity to clot and become condensed enough to make their blood turn blue.

’The one that gets affected by this wouldn’t feel anything weird with themselves until the illness progressed to a certain point and they were almost on the verge of dying.’

It’s nearly impossible to save those who had progressed to the critical stage without the help of a being that could completely control the flow of Mana inside one’s body, or something that could completely drain their Mana for a few moments.

’We had Cary so saving her was possible and thanks to Anna knowing how to cast that spell that even El had never thought about, it was possible to save a precious individual.’

However, had we been even a few seconds late, or if there was any kind of mistake in the procedure, or had Anna not been with us... we would’ve lost Oak for certain.

’Thankfully... nothing like that happened.’

She was safe thanks to them and after a few days of constant work, the rest of the academy was safe as well.

The world is still not in the clear but things are going to get better since we have a way to cure this disease.

"Haaa... I knew they would act when they see someone create an epic in a small world like this one but to think some jealous small fry would be smart enough to do something like this."

Blue Death was spread by a virus called [HTX3] or Hemomatic Tetrahexahead X-type 3. A virus that replicated at a speed unreal to one’s imagination.

The way it spreads is so strange that just the fact that this shit could cover an entire planet in a matter of weeks shows just how peculiar this thing was.

’It spreads through any kind of medium, air, water, through direct connection, almost anything.’

And it can also stay alive on an object or individual for a number of days.

’It was a virus and still, due to its unique nature, it was classified as a living creature by the masses.’

Just a single unit of this thing was enough to lead an entire planet to its doom, and I do mean it in literal meaning.

This thing spreads faster than bunnies.

They affect the very atmosphere first and poison the Mana in the area.

They affect the individuals with a higher Mana perception later, specifically individuals like Oak, the witch or wizards that have a unique constitution than the normal human behinds.

There was a possibility that normal human that were blessed by Mana would also be affected by this thing before the rest of the normal individuals, and things became especially dangerous when it affects children of Mana like the Dragons or other higher beings that do not have a good enough physical body to naturally nullify its presence.

A good chunk of a planet could be destroyed on the spot if a dragon heart exploded due to this damned thing.

’It’s a nasty thing for the entire world it spreads in especially because it targets the small minority that is usually the core power holders of that world.’

From political leaders like kings or emperors, the mages or magic tower masters, saints that have lived for centuries and maintain the power balance behind the scenes.

This thing destroys those individuals first and one can just think what might happen if the individuals that actually maintain the power structure of the world dies of blue blood overnight.

’The entire world first gets shaken, then it becomes vulnerable, then the powers that always hide behind the shadows comes out and then the dance of death starts.’

Many worlds have already fallen because of this virus, the epidemic that spreads because of this shit ruins not only that world but everything that is present in that world.

It’s so dangerous that [Laws] have been made to prevent any kind of illegal spread of that thing and yet, items containing this virus is one of the most ’secretly’ traded weapons among the higher beings of the Worldline.

’It’s easy to destroy a higher being by destroying a world or planet under that certain higher being since most of their power comes from the individuals of that world, from the epics that the individuals know about.’

Whenever there is a conflict between two higher beings, be it the gods, angels, or the demons, they threaten not the individuals in question directly but the places that are the source of their power.

’They use various kinds of techniques to destroy them indirectly.’

And they mostly only do that kind of thing with the individuals that they see as a complete threat to their existence.

"Tsk. I suspect those damned gods of this world. Seeing us have an epic even before ascending must have made them worry about us."

"Yeah but if they were the ones behind this, they would have had to do it with complete cooperation with one another.

If one or more of them acted on their own, they were practically also declaring war on one another."

There were a few suspects that might have been the source of this virus in this world, but the prime one among them were the twelve gods of this world.

The most influential gods that the [Temple] served.

"Bastards are courting death."

El was upset, angry, and tired right now... today had been unbearably exhausting for her.

"They will be the first ones on my ’to kill’ list. They have to stay alive until I get my hands around their necks."

Today was the last day of her clinic duty and she had worked hard for the students of this academy, as well as her patients.

It was thanks to her that everyone was in their best conditions a day before the start of midterms.

The night was pretty tonight, and our other friends must be having a hard time preparing themselves for the tests as well.

He gave a speech on how the virus was something accidental that had come from the outside and that thanks to the two of us, it was dealt with safely.

He wiped the memories of individuals that i had interrogated during my own investigation and though he did not like how I had moved on my own and caused unnecessary troubles throughout the academy, he had nothing against me.

’There was not much that he could do to me since I had taken my own precautions before dealing with all the other individuals, and since I’ve confirmed the situation outside the academy, I now know what we have to do from now on as well.’

This epidemic was a chance that I had been looking for. A chance to overthrow the emperor.

He had already arranged a world level conference with the individuals holding the highest authorities in this world to discuss the matters regarding this epidemic and, if he does agree to help us, we will be able to start the conquest.

"We don’t really have to get married, you know?"

This epidemic was an opportunity to push up our plans and since we also have all the resources and individuals needed for this task, it’s pretty possible to go for my individual epic.

We just had to bring down the authoritative position of the emperor of Barnacle.

A massage was a good way to relieve stress and be rejuvenated before an important day. Though, that only applied when the one giving this massage was someone you can entrust your body to.
