Chapter 337: 337 Red Test (2)

[El’s POV: ]

[ "I got what I have to do. You continue, I’m going down." ]

[ "Go down on me as well when we get back." ]

He was silent for a moment, but it didn’t last that long.

[ "You idiot... go do what you have to." ]

[ "I’m already doing it, you idiot." ]

-Dhum...!

My magic was blocked for real this time and along with that, my skills were as well.

There wasn’t much that I could do with only my body and the unique skills that I have since not much is offensive, but thankfully, I still have the strength of my stats.

"Ughhhhhhhhhh!"

"No. You don’t get to have the things that belong to me."

There was not much to these opponents since they were only the zombie replicas of the children that we used to live with.

[ "Well, good luck with your playthings." ]

He didn’t know what I was fighting and there was no need for him to know it either.

This was my test and not his, so even though he might have an idea that I was having fun with whatever I was doing, it was better that he didn’t know what I was up to.

"You all used to be so cute... and look at you all now."

He made undead replicas of the children that I had grown up with, the children that we had seen getting tortured by that pig bastard, the children that do not have anything like a family even still... there were a lot of them, and many died by the dirty hands of that bastard while some were sold out in the Red market, as slaves.

"Some of you poor ones didn’t even know your own real names."

They were miserable, and that fucking son of a bitch headmaster made them even worse.

"This test is more mentally disturbing than it is physically straining."

I couldn’t access my storage space or my storage devices so the only weapon left on me was my personal weapon. And, though it was pretty powerful, it wasn’t going to give these suffering children the kind of deaths that they deserved.

That’s why I was killing them with my bare hands.

-Bang!

-Bhum!

-Dank!

The sensation of their rotting flesh touching my gloved hands, the way they screamed in that ugly voice, the way I could do anything with their bodies, the way I was practically free to kill them anyway I wanted was the best thing about this whole test.

And, since they all hand tormented me one way or the other in the past anyway, this was the best opportunity.

"Aughhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

When we used to live in this orphanage, that pig bastard used to hold these group play sessions where he told the children that if they behaved well, they would get to go up to the higher floor like the few of us as well.

He manipulated them into thinking that he was a heavenly man that wanted to help them with their life.

He used to tell them what he would do if they behaved well, learned things, and obeyed him well.

He told them if they do well, they will even get to get out of this place as well and go to their new houses where they can have all the food they want and all kinds of things that they wish for.

"He was a bastard."

A sick bastard that only took them to his room and raped them, or took them to the underground bunker and tortured them, or sold them directly to the his connections in the Red market.

’The demand for the good looking children that had innate skills was particularly high among those horny bastards of the Red market as well, so he cultivated the ones like us.’

He tried all tricks there were to break them completely and restrict their wills, limiting their freedom of mind, soul, and body to only his dirty limitations.

-Bang!

-Boom!

The children that I was fighting right now were nothing less than what they used to be before he sold them— lifeless souls that had no light remaining in their hearts.

Lucy and I had seen all these children go with him many times. Sometimes they came back, sometimes they didn’t.

And whenever they did not, we remember Eva crying her soul out in the common room downstairs.

’Many shitty things had happened in this place.’

But, this wasn’t the only orphanage with a demon like him in this world.

There are still many of them present in this very empire.

And the Red market still exists so, we should deal with that shit first before we start the war.

"You poor things."

Every time I saw them going with that pig bastard, I had this pure thought...

’It would be better for them that they die by my hands than to that pig bastard.’

I remember everything, and that is my curse.

-Bang!

"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

The one that I just killed was a young ten year old that was used as a horse ride by that pig bastard.

’He must have died on the spot when that piece of shit sat on him.’

He was a demon in the true sense. Doing shitty things to those children with nothing at their name... he was a fucking coward that deserved the death he got.

But... but these children... these children were innocent.

They did not deserve the way they died, but they were dead already so there was nothing that could change that.

’It’s good that the bastard headmaster chose a test like this for me.’

I can finally give them the kind of death they deserved instead of the one they got and many of them had hindered me and my time with my darling many times, so, they had to die in a specific way.

Punching them and smashing their heads, gauging their eyes out, breaking hands and legs, breaking the backs, snapping their heads, crippling them by cutting off important nerves in their bodies, there were many things that needed to be done by my hands.

I had my Twilight wrapped around my hands as gloves that weren’t going to break even after breaking all of them here and the clothes that I have now weren’t going to get stained by their blood.

I could use my Mana so protecting my body from the slashing blood was also possible, and there were tens of them present in one of the rooms... I can do whatever I want here~.

’They were good children.’

But they are dead now, and what I see before me is nothing more than an illusion created by the headmaster.

They have died or were sold to someone that must have killed them by now. There was no need to mourn for them, so, it was better to just kill them the way they deserved to die, and the way I would enjoy killing them the most.

"Thank me for doing this favour."

-Boom.

That was the last of them in this room, and now that I was done with my cleaning, the entire room was stained in blood... fake young blood of the zombie like young children that used to live under the same roof as us.

"Haaa."

They were innocent cute children, some of them were good as well, different from many that envied us for how we were better treated.

There were a good number of young children that we have seen in this one orphanage, and thankfully, they were all humans.

’Who knows just how much that pig might have tormented a non-human child.’

There were many non-human adventurers in this city but not many who lived here permanently or had any family here.

And even if there were any family of beast people or other kinds, they weren’t something that small organisations could touch.

’They were humans who could not see even the light of the real world.’

They died in vain, and it makes me sad.

"Let’s see what they have in the next one."

Some of them might have grown up and had their own family, their own children. Even if they lived on the streets, some of them might have had much better lives than what they had back then.

[Ding.]

[Do you want to free the souls of the deceased?]

"Hmm?"

A system window popped up before me asking me something silly.

"What deceased, lol. They were never alive to begin with."

They died long ago so what I killed did not matter, just like this message.

Even the headmaster did not have any control over death and afterlife.

I clicked the ’no’ answer on the screen and moved on to the next room where a few little older children were waiting for me to free them from their eternal suffering.

"Come."

Death was real for those who weren’t connected with the Worldline system. Their lives weren’t worth much to the world that they lived in or the Worldline that was part of this world.

’As one moved close to the Worldline with their authorities and their ranks in the Worldline, the meaning of death blurred for them.’

Especially when an individual comes to possess an Epic, or a unique storyline of their own, they go beyond the realm of common deaths.

’We are different from them, we always were.’

They were miserable. And...

-Bang!

It wasn’t their fault.

They were born different, they had simple lives, they suffered but they died without seeing the true darkness of the world that goes beyond the painful deaths that a demonic human could bestow.

[ "This one’s the last room." ]

[ "Come down when you’re done then."]

[ "Yes." ]

The reason I enjoyed killing these children wasn’t because I enjoyed it.

In all honesty, it was because it was the right response against this peculiar situation.

’And, I would do it the same way every time.’

Killing zombie children with bare hands... it was more fun than one could think.

It was a good therapy, actually.
