Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 367 Reasons of a Prince
[Rex’s POV: ]
Sitting in the garden of six seasons in our secret place that was once discovered by the two lovers of our group, we were once again facing each other.
There was only the two of us, and this fall garden was just as quite as it is nmost of the time. There was also no leaves around today so it seems they have cleaned up the place recently.
So, there was most certainly not one going to show up anymore.
"You... are an idiot."
She was upset and she did noty like what I had done outside, but there was no excuse to make.
Her anger was natural and she had every right to be angry at my stupiuduy as someone that not only understood this entire situation, but also as someone that had known me the longest.
"Look, Cathy."
"Don’t call me Cathy!"
We had been going over this for the last two hours now and she had become even more upset as time passed.
I alredy told her the truth about how I was going to get help from all the minsters... though many of them will end up dying before the start of the battle, as well as how I was also going to recive help from the ones that had stolen those things from all over the world.
She now knew about the forces that I possessed as well as the deals that we had made with many other nations, but, she knew she did not know the full truth of the matter yet... and she had no need to know all that either.
She was alredy part of this entire conflict and the reason headmaster must have called her along with us must had also something to do with our connection.
’Not only was she my friend, she was also an awakened saintess whose grandmother was the strongest spirit mage of this entire world.’
Our relationship was not something simple and the headmaster knew that well. There was a deep connection between the two of us and if she really wanted she had all the power in the world to involve her in this conflict.
’And if Vanraya gets involved in this conflict, it’s inevitable that the rest of the world would want to get in as well.’
War was always all about possibilities of growth.
One’s conflict was the other’s market.
They could profit off of these things unlike any other kind of business, so every other nation would have its eyes set on this thing.
And, im not eben taking about all the nation of just this continent.
All the powers from all over the woerld would want a p[iece of the absolute empire and since they all would soon know my connection with the thieves that they all cololectively hate, they would most certainly choose the other side than us.
’People don’t yet know the kind of power we possess so, if they get involved with this war, the losses tyhat they will face would be unimaginable.’
They had a carefully crafted pl;an but even they were no omniscient beings.
They did noy know what was going to happen for sure, so if something out of hand does happen, this entire world will face consequences.
And, along with these other nations, that are the part of the world, the youth that are supposed to one day become part of this academy will suffer great damage.
’Neither the two of them, nor the headmaster would ever want something like that.’
And tyhat was tghe very reason it was up to me to convince her to not get involved with this too much.
"Hump..."
She was upset and she did not talk with me... but at the same time, she wanted to talk with me.
"Haaa... I believe you got a call from home?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
The only reason she might be acting this way would be if her parents and her dear grandmother aksed her to not get involved with all that was going on./
She must be feeling clonflicting things since she wanted to help me with this thing Sven ethojugh she knew I had all the forces in th world.
She knew the true nature of my ’father’ very well.
She I knew that bastard will go to any length possible and if he needed to, he will destroy everything there is in this world to survive and rule more.
He had lived for longer than her grandmother who was a high elf so, the power ewas not something thaty he lacked at all.
All he needed was the incentive to use that power and through this declarations and this kind of challnage, we were giving him all the will to use the means that he had up his sleeves.
He was a danger greater than the great demons and the demons kings themseves. There was no waty he could just let me live after seeing all that I had...
"You... how do you know that?"
"Dummy. How would I not know something so obvious?"
I got closer to her... to which she responded negatively and tried stepping back, but, well, the sheet that we had spread on the ground was small. There was nowhere else to go.
She wasnt afraid of me, the connection with those thieves was no big thing fior her.
’After awakening as a saintess, she knew those people were not actually that big a deal.’
She knew many things that common people did not know about now, and there were things that she was not going to object to in this perticuler situation.
"Cathy..."
All she wanted was for me to be safe but, allying with some crazy thieves, going against that bastard, and putting myself in the middle of all this was obviously not something any sane person would willingly possibly do.
"I know I’m being unreasonable by asking you to not do anything about it... since yo9u are perhaps the only one that cares about me, but please understand."
Holding her hand, I looked her straight in her eyes and, I could not look away from those green eyes after that.
"You..."
As I knew, tears instantly built up in those pretty eyes and, not long after that, they slid down her soft cheeks."
"How I you say that..."
She started crying as I hugged her.
"How... h-how can you ask me... ask me to do nothing."
There was sorrow in her voice, but more than any other emotion, there was pain and anger.
"You... you might die..."
It was a possibility.
I might die in that place and there was not much that she will be able to do if she wasnt there, or someone she trusted was not there.
My life was the only precious things on the line here.
She did not care about anything else.
Even though she was the saintess now, she did not care about the other people and safishly worried about me...
"Cathy."
I was being unreasonable by asking the only person that cared so much, I knew that.
But, it had to be this way.
"I love you."
All that I was doing, all of this... my revenge against that bastard was one thing, the reason we did this so soon, was only because of my selfish wish.
My selfish wish to be with her.
"Hu-hun? What...?"
She looked at me with a new surprised expression.
She definitely heard what I had just said, but she couldn’t believe it.
"I love you," so I repeated myself while looking right into her crying eyes, before hugging her back and giving her the time she needed to process those words.
"Hun...?"
She knew there was something more than friendship between us.
But, instead of saying I liked her, or something like that, I was saying I loved her directly.
Which certainly wasnt something she was expecting.
Not in this situation surely.
"Hunnnn...?"
She must be blushing right now, and I wanted to see that reaction of hers.
But, well, she knew her embarrassed look was not something very attractive.. so she hugged me tiger while making tose weird noises of surprise and continued processing what she should say or do.
"I want to be with you, and it is not going to possible with that bastard in the way.
So, I had no choice but to do this... now is the right time since after we graduate from the academy, the world will not be the same as we know it right now."
These last words of mine... two people must have come to her mind as well when I said that.
The two of them, they were amazing people that were soon going to change the world and that was an inevitability.
’Now, in this changing world, what would the emperor that wants a complete grasp on his land would do?’
A war against thw two of them was pure foolishness since they were much more dangerous than those thieves, she knew that much very well.
’Just this interaction we had with the headmaster previously was enough proof ofg their connection and power.’
We knew about their connection with the adventuerer’s guild, we knew about their uncountable wealth, and we knew about their relationships.
Fighting against them will not be a good thing for the emperor or the rest of the world, so... she understood why I would have done something so crazy.
But still... that did not mean she had processed my confession.
She was still blushing, and now that she had relsed the tight grip around me, I could see her blushing face as well... which, certainly was not something that she wanted me to see in that moment.
