Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 378 Attacks on the crown prince
[OP: ]
The two sides that were soon going to face each other had two commanders or, the center figures that were going to lead the groups that were going to fight in these battles.
These two individuals, as people of this world already knew, were the emperor of the great empire and the crown prince that held the most influence after him in the imperial family.
He was not a simple person as everyone close to the royal family already knew and if someone like the emperor himself ’used’ him in various occasions, his image within the imperial court was even deeper than a normal subject of the emperor would have known.
The two of these generals that should have been on the battlefield at least a few days before the battle, were sadly engaged in their own preparations.
And still, even though the emperor had managed to get to the battlefield a day before the battle, the crown prince who was still in the academy had yet to reach the battlefield.
He was late since he had to formally apply for the leave of absence and had to fill up paperwork that he didn’t even know existed.
It took him a while, but he somehow left the academy on time and was on his way to the battlefield... however, he had faced a few challenges along the way.
"You ungrateful bastard! Dieeeeeee!"
"Arrogant bastrad!"
"To go against the great emperor!!! You demon!!"
He faced criticism from the admirers of the emperor on his way.
He was being escorted by some of the best men he had, as well as people that the two of them had assigned to him. But, the situation was not going as normally as he wanted.
He couldn’t use any of the local teleportation warps since the ones in charge made excuses to prevent him from reaching the battlefield itself.
They had this absurd idea that if they prince failed to reach the battlefield itself, the people that were going to fight from both sides would not have to fight, and he alone would peacefully get executed.
They actually knew nothing about how the imperial family operated so they did not have facts, but in situations like these, rumours and propaganda were common occurrences.
-Swish! Swish! Swish!
At first, when he came out of the academy and started his journey outside the capital, the people in the capital threw things at their carriage and cursed them for the deaths that they will bring to ’their’ vessels.
They were all common people so there was no reason to deal with them so, they went out of the capital, and when they were out... the real troubles started.
Stronger individuals that weren’t common people but high ranking members of either associations like the adventurers association or magic tower, or were free individuals that did not care about their lives... and were dumb.
-Clank! Clank! Clank!
They attacked the carriages that the crown prince was talking in an attempt to slow down their pace... but they were dealt with by the individuals accompanying him.
He faced criticism, he faced the curses of the people that were willingly serving him and that father of his without caring for their own lives or, lives of their family and children.
He was used to these things, and he himself understood the pain of the people, so he wanted to help them and talk with them... but he knew that wasn’t going to be possible in the given situation.
He was off to a battlefield. People were undoubtedly going to die there.
They were following them willingly and had dedicated their lives to the one they followed so their own deaths weren’t going to be anything regrettable to themselves.
However, things were different for the families and the children that they will leave behind.
The casualties were going to be the result of their personal disputes.
And there was nothing to deny this fact.
"Haaa... how much longer?"
"Seems like they will be done in about five minutes? If I were to fight them though-."
"No. They aren’t a threat great enough to require your support, Lord Friday."
He was accompanied by Friday and Eva, two of the most trusted people of the two that were going to actually lead their side in this battle.
"This could have been over if we could just knock them out, your highness."
"No no miss Eva. Please don’t say that... if they are knocked out in a place like this, they might get in trouble."
Currently, they were in the middle of a forest situated a few miles away from the battlefield.
It was only a half-day trip and they will stand with their allies, facing the opposite side and the one that he wanted to take out with his own hands... not that it was going to be possible with all the things that he had agreed to.
But it was alright.
He knew what he wanted and he knew what he was getting so he had accepted what was going to happen.
But still, he wanted to see it all happen with his own eyes... he needed to see it all happen and it was the only thing that could ever quench the burning fire in his heart.
There was only him and the person that fathered him. The bastard that killed the mother he loved more than anything else in this world.
He wanted to finish them off, but... finishing him off on one side, it seemed like it was going to be difficult be difficult to even reach the battlefield where everything was going on at the moment.
There were just too many useless people that were attacking them from all sides.
They weren’t particularly strong or anything but they were just too annoying and persistent.
His own knights that could use Aura were fearing to deal with them since many of them might just die after facing the weapons covered in Aura so they had to take special measures.
They were strong professionals that he trusted with his life so they knew how to handle small things like these but since last few hours, these people had managed to block their paths several times, delaying their arrival to the battlefield by almost half a day.
It was not a problem even if they reached late but, his presence in that battlefield was very critical to the plan that two of them had devised.
And, since there were individuals with them that could deal with these people on their own in an instant present with them, he just had to give them a command.
-Oooooooooong!
"Haaa. We might have to do something soon, your highness."
"Yes, I know. However, let them do it until-."
"What the hell is taking you bastards so long!"
He did not want them to deal with these common people since there was a great chance that some of them could end up suffering grave losses.
They weren’t at fault here. The emperor must be the one to control them into doing this somehow, he knew that much.
They were merely victims so the did not need brute force to get them down... they just had to deal with them in a more humane way.
But, after he heard that certain voice ring in his ears out of nowhere, he knew that it wasn’t going to be possible anymore.
"You can’t even deal with mobs like these?! Really?! Even with Friday and Eva?! What the hell dude!"
It was her voice. Even though she had changed it with magic, he could tell from the sheer power of that voice that it was her... and if she was here, then the reason for it was obvious.
"Looks like the master had to come to pick you up herself, your highness. She must care about you a lot, hun."
Friday gave him a certain unpleasant look.
He did not like how this prince was doing things even though there was a pretty effective way to do them right in front of him.
If his master had not order them to listen to him, he would have got rid of all the hindrances a long time ago.
In fact, he might have used his magic to teleport them all to the battlefield as well... but he did not want that... which was absurd.
"The Fuck were you up to?!"
Friday did not like him, but he had to listen to him. But, thankfully now that his master was here, things were different.
-Ooooooooooooooong!
With a single wide area magic spell, she created a great barrier that made every single person present in it fall asleep except the ones in this particular carriage of course.
It wasn’t anything big or special to her, but... the fact that she had to come all this way just to fetch a single person spoke a lot about just what kind of person this bastard was.
"There’s a lot I want to say and a lot of curses I want to shout, Rex. But, we don’t have time for that right now."
She looked at Friday inside the carriage and the slime servant knew exactly what his master wanted.
-Ooooooong...!
-Swish.
So, he used his own movement skill on all of them and took them out of that carriage and, when they were out, they found themselves standing on a peculiar looking magic circle.
This magic circle was unique as well since instead of being circular, it was a uncertain shape with no borders.
It seemed more like a pattern than a magic circle to the crown prince and it certainly evoked his curiosity... but he had only one moment to observe this phenomenon.
-Oooooooooooooooong!
"Don’t do any shitty thing from now on or I’ll have your fucking leg!"
When he blinked again, he found himself in front of a great battlefield.
"What the..."
The very battlefield that he was supposed to command, and also the very battlefield that countless spectators were soon going to watch simultaneously throughout the Worldline.
